Old Navy

Old Navy, I thought you were for old people, children and teens but I found out differently when I was roaming the South Hill Mall this weekend.
Found 15 shirts and sweaters that I like and the price started at $ 1! Yes, you read that right! The most expensive item was a shirt for $ 15. Everything else was $ 1, $ 3, $ 4, $ 6, or $ 10. What a deal. They had a couple tables and racks of women’s tops for $ 3. Crazy!
I’m not naïve — I can tell by the «made in» tag and the fabric that most of these clothes, if not all of them, won’t last me more than 1 – 3 years at most. However, they are great, casual clothes or tees to wear under sportcoats and jackets for work that allow me to breathe and not die from heat stroke.
Found some really cute knotted «gold» earrings too.
Only 2 people working the registers which dropped to 1 while we had a medium line that was moving pretty darn slowly. The cashier had the glossy eyed look of someone who was trying to do their job till they could take another antidepressant.
This Old Navy is located near the North Entrance of the mall. Park by Target for fastest access.

The clearance racks were a mess but most of the store was in order.

I am giving this location 3 solid stars JUST BECAUSE OF THE AMAZING DEAL I GOT ON WORKOUT GEAR. So many cute mix-​and-​match outfits… For the price that I would probably pay for one pair of yoga pants elsewhere in the mall. The store is clean and the associates are friendly. And you can’t beat this location — right next to Target in the South Hill mall.

What a crappy selection of clothes for men. Zero choices in size’s. No wonder sales are down

Good selection, nice staff. Not the cleanest store, but it is a typical Old Navy. No complaints really.

First time at this location (actually at this mall). Clearance was a little small, but I found some amazing deals nonetheless. The girl who rung me up (don’t remember her name but she’s from Jamaica) was really nice and fun to talk to. Store was clean and organized since it I came in early afternoon on a weekday.

I’m often surprised by the deals I can find at Old Navy. New clothes are moderately priced (jackets as low at $ 25, shirts starting around $ 15), but the real reason to shop here are the clearance items. With a little bit of grit (I don’t possess much, so a shopping buddy is a necessity for me), you can often find shirts for as little as $ 4, shoes starting around $ 5, and pants near $ 8. These are moderate-​quality clothes at a legitimate bargain. Generally stylish, generally fit well, and will last a little more than a year (depending on the wear and tear), at prices as low as these, this is a steal!
I’ll always prefer clothes from Old Navy’s sister companies Gap and Banana Republic (they last longer, fit better, and are generally more attractive), but when you’ve got champagne taste on a Natural Light budget, Old Navy can make a great substitute. Really, with Old Navy, it’s about the endurance. You have to look through a lot of clothes and styles before you find something that works well for you, but once you do, it’s definitely worth it. If I can walk out of a store with three or four attractive OUTFITS (pants, two shirts) and have only spent $ 100, then I’m pretty much sold.
The crew here is generally nice, mostly staffed by girls from the local high schools. Old Navy’s have a reputation of being disheveled and unorganized, and this one isn’t any different. Especially in the women’s section, which see a lot of traffic on weekends, things are always out of place, on the wrong hanger or rack. This makes it difficult, but like I said above, here it’s about the endurance to look through everything to find those three shirts that are cute and only cost $ 4 each.
Because Old Navy is in the South Hill Mall, you can always take a break and go to the food court for an Orange Julius or Quiznos sandwhich.
