NW Custom Beds

Ordered custom twin bunk beds, painted white. I was very excited about the beds until I received them. I was concerned about the specs and called him to let him know that I wanted to discuss the height and he said not to worry that he would discuss the issues before completing them. I did not hear from him again until he was ready to deliver.
Upon delivery and set up, the specs were wrong. I could not fit the mattresses on the bed and the top bunk was useless because it was too high.
I sent him pics and asked him to fix them. He never returned my calls.
The paint is chipping after several months, the slats holding the mattresses don’t work and the bunks beds are a huge disappointment.
I very much want to support local craftsman and go out of my way to find and support local businesses. This was a bad experience. I am now trying to find someone who can fix the beds so I don’t have to waste the timber used to make the ones I have.
What a shame. Stay away from this guy and find another hard working craftsperson.

Do your homework and avoid this guy if you can. We ordered a bed in December from him. My wife found him on Craigslist and thought we found a reasonable person to make a bunk bed with a stair case on the side for us. Well, the bed we got was not to the specs we ordered. The overhead height was not what we requested. The bed was too wide for our mattress. He refused to acknowledge that he messed up. Blamed it on his employee and said the jig was out of alignment. I had to spend a few hours correcting those issues. He never supplied us slats for the top bunk. He did not build us the stairs as we had agreed upon, or even the ones that are pictured in his ad. The first ones were too steep, we refused them. The second set he built us are not tall enough. The owner stated that building stairs is all about physics and if we don’t understand that he couldn’t help us. Actually building stairs is about geometry (rise and run) and angles, not physics. We have placed a complaint through Paypal and now the BBB we will see what comes of it. I will update the review if anything changes.
Also, I did a google search of the beds he has listed on his site. Turns out he simply took images or beds from other makers and said I can make these. One even shows a bed and he states he won 2^nd place in a custom furniture building competition. Well, it isn’t a picture of his bed. He got it off another builders website.
