Meeker days seems to get better every year. This weekend’s event has the farmers market bulging at the seems with fresh produce, flowers, plants and craft items. The bouncy houses are back for the kids and the sun and warmth has the new spray park full of the little ones cooling off.(There should be an adult version lol) Plenty of booths and food vendors filling the streets of downtown Puyallup to entice you to buy that stuff you don’t need. Charlie’s appears to have a great beer garden with live music and all the great Puyallup restaurants are open, many with sidewalk tables and specials for the weekend.

For years, for some reason, I never made my way down to Meeker Days, and can I say I was not disappointed when I ventured down today! First of all, the whole festival must take up 5 – 6 city block so there’s a ton of stuff to just walk and observe… fun! There’s a lot of food such as corn dogs, burgers, ice cream, etc, a little overpriced but I didn’t expect any less(we actually just walked to Taco Bell to save money). The vendors are cool, though a lot are informational, you can find a lot if cool stuff to buy as well, like $ 1 movies(I GOT3!!), a magic shop, and more. The atmosphere is incredible with the sub shining and flowers blooming and birds chirping it reminds me why I love Puyallup, and Meeker Days now became another reason :) Enjoy the festival you definitely won’t be dissatisfied!

Puyallup is a nice little town and that is exactly how I’d describe this festival. It is down home, main street America at its best. There was a great big-band and other street performers playing when we arrived. We had enough food booths to choose from with a combination of local vendors and«carny» food. But the shining bonus to our day was a separate area for a farmer’s market. We bought the most beautiful produce and surreally sweet Bing cherries… YUM! My only suggestion(and other fairs seem to have this problem) is to include more local artisans for the booths. Most booths were of the«informational» variety(home services, community info., etc.) We passed by most of them. The few local arts and craft booths were just lost among the rest. The weather was perfect and everyone(including the doggies) seemed to have a great time. I really appreciate that a community still finds it important to organize these festivals every year. Kudos to them.
