Had Chicken Katsu and Teriyaki they were both good but not great. They service was great and they are trying hard.

Nothing super crazy great about this place other than the fact that they’re very friendly, very fast and very close to where I live! Other than that, food tastes just like any other place you go to get teriyaki. They do serve steamed cabbage instead of salad though, which is a nice change.

Catered at this place for a friends wedding and it was fantastic. The food was delicious with flavors bursting in your mouth. The owner of this place, also the chef would give more than enough food for the wedding. He was very kind and was able to leave a good impression of the restaurant!

Very disappointing, my fiancé and I usually go to the one on meridian which is great but this one definitely fell short of our expectations. They have poor quality food and tiny portions. It’s hard to be disappointed when you order the basics but we were. We had chicken teriyaki and general tsos chicken and some egg rolls. The flavor was bland and a little off not to mention it looked like they just poured everything out of a can and added some frozen vegetable mix!

I’d been looking for a decent teriyaki place that was close to home for the last month or so. Tonight I found it. The portions were huge, price was right and the food was good. I had the General Taos chicken and egg rolls, the only thing I’d change is kick up the heat on the General Taos. I’ll definitely be back.

This is a small restaurant, located right hand side of Safeway. From the outside, it looks like ordinary common Terriyaki place. When I walked in, it was very clean, first of all, and was greeted by smiling faces that really made me feel warm. Have you ever been somewhere and immediately feels like you were there all the time? This was it! It was comfortable, clean, and best of all, people were not just nice, they were genuine. I found out the owner’s daughter made the custom dishes(pictured) that looks like the ones kings used in castle. It is the hidden gem !

My favorite teriyaki place! I love their spicy chicken, fried rice, and their wonton soup! The girl who works the front is so amazingly sweet and she is half the reason I go there!

My husband and I go here often. Awesome Teriyaki, and general tso’s. Katsu and gyoza are also very good. I have tried the wonton soup, and hot and sour. Both are great! Generous portions and very consistent! Sometimes the chicken at Teriyaki places can be chewy, not here! Always very tender and coated in delicious teriyaki sauce. The bento box is a great size and good variety of different things they offer if your wanting to try some new stuff. Friendly staff, they have punch cards that you may ask for to earn a free Teriyaki bowl! Love this spot.

I used to see Teriyaki shops everywhere but nowadays it seems hard to come by… maybe some closed? Some open elsewhere? However, my sister and I were waddling around the area to get my driver’s license updated and for the sis’ license tabs and we happened upon this little shop. For some reason, «Happy at the Bay» sounds oddly familiar and it is even #2 not #1… which means there is a likely chance that I may have been to #1. I kept it simple for my lunch because I was craving the original Teriyaki Chicken! I ordered their Lunch Special $ 6.99 for the chicken. That was definitely filling for a small person like me. Usually Lunch specials are cheaper and less in portion than a full entrée. But then again, I was somewhat disappointed with my sister’s. She ordered the regular size entrée of Chicken Teriyaki and Tonkatsu combo. Having worked at other Teriyaki shops before, this was quite small in proportion. I know the saying where«Tonkatsu is more expensive so we have to portion it in terms of ratio» etc. Anyways, their teriyaki does not stand out far from every other teriyaki shop but good to know I have marked one more Teriyaki shop Dine-In experience off my list C:

My fiancé and I stopped by for take out dinner. I had the the chicken and beef teriyaki combo and she had the sesame chicken. Needless to say, the food was far from satisfactory. My chicken tasted dry, like it was cooked this afternoon. My beef tasted like teriyaki covered Korean bulgogi, and it was dry too. Fiancé’s dish looked like chicken bits deep fried, then covered with«sesame sauce». Best part was the«steamed» vegetables. Can’t recommend this place… Sorry…

I get the same thing every time, Teriyaki Tofu and it’s always the best! I’ve had it at a few area restaurants and it’s always best here. I have to say, the staff is *so* friendly! It’s one of the few Puyallup restaurants where I actually look forward to walking in because the woman at the counter, I wish I had asked her name, is always in a happy mood and super nice. It’s a very welcoming environment!

Walked in to place a take out order. The young girl at the counter was friendly. Asked if I wanted a cup of tea while I waited. Ordered the Spicy chicken for my husband and Mongolian beef for myself. Good, decent and plentiful. Had enough left over for a third meal!

I want to like this more than I do — most of the food is average. I’ve been here about 5 times, and it’s OK — depends on what you order. Their won ton and egg drop soups are quite tasty and touted to be MSG free — which I believe they are since MSG gives me a crashing headache within minutes. Some of the other items — as I mentioned are OK — and I swear I’ve had an MSG headache from some of the items over time — so check. The help is sweet beyond belief.
