I’ve been here several times(I live rather close), and generally it’s very good. The food is decent, and the service is great. I’ve gotten a few odd things(BLT with no bacon, which is now a running joke with some of the servers and I), but that doesn’t stop me from going. I’ve had the pizza, blt wrap, and some of the other sandwich items, and they have been consistently good each time. While I can’t give a 5 star rating due to a few small mis-haps, I can say that I recommend the restaurant, especially for a cost-effective and usually quiet lunch!

The herb crusted salmon entrée was quite tasty, and the service was excellent! I will definitely be going there again to dine.

IJ Canns has pretty decent food in an attractive and welcoming space. That being said, none of their dishes particularly stand out, and they’re pretty expensive for what they offer. The food is pretty standard American fare — mostly burgers, steaks, and pork chops with and a few chicken, fish, and pasta dishes. Most are good, but quality can vary widely from visit to visit. For example, on one visit their pasta filet will be delicious and on the next it will be absolutely swimming in oil. For a consistently good meal, stick to the burgers or the strip steak.

Had dinner here with family on Easter Eve. I had the blackened Salmon, which was excellent. Nice atmosphere. Excellent help. Agree with other reviews that Blake couldn’t have been more accommodating. Will definitely be back when we visit Virginia again.

Went here for lunch and ordered a sandwich off of their lunch menu. The server asked if I wanted chips, cole slaw, or fries. I chose fries. When the server brought the bill, I noticed that I was charged $ 2 for the fries. I told the server I was shocked because he hadn’t mentioned an upcharge and there was nothing on the lunch menu stating it was an additional charge. He did not apologize. Instead he just said that, yes, it was an additional charge and immediately walked away. I emailed the restaurant to express my displeasure over this, but I never heard anything back. In addition to my annoyance over this, my friend and I had to eat with our coats on because it was so cold in the restaurant. I will definitely not be patronizing this restaurant again.

Ok, to start, at 7:30pm on a Tuesday night, my mother and I realized we were going to be late for a class we are taking, so as we are turning around on Harmony Church Road, and headed towards the house, I complained about being hungry and having no groceries at home… so we skipped the house, and headed into Purcellville, with the thought that there is «at least a Chick Fil A.» Enter IJ Canns. It was dead, as expected from a Tuesday. However, that did not compromise service in the least. Blake was our waiter, and he was exceptional. I asked for his opinion on my order before placing it, and I was not lead astray. My mother had the hazelnut chicken, which came with veggies that were PERFECTLY cooked. They were so good, I ordered a side of them to go with my plate. I ordered the seafood pesto. It was incredible. The scallop was the most succulent scallop I have ever had in my life, not… even… exaggerating! Pesto is amazing as is, but I had never thought to smear pesto and butter all over freshly steamed seafood, and throw it on top of pappardelle pasta. Exquisite! My birthday is in two weeks, and I’m going to go back. They had some sort of fried cheesecake thing on the menu, and I’m hoping it’s still there on March 5. I live about 4 miles from this establishment, and I had never tried it, let alone knew of its existence. I would absolutely recommend it, and I will absolutely be back! Blake even wrote a cute little note on my to-go box, as I couldn’t finish all of my plate. Such a nice gesture. I’ll always go back to a place for customer service alone! Well done, guys!

Excellent service and fabulous food! My husband and I came here for my birthday and we loved it! Will def be back again! He had the Seafood pesto pasta & I had the Jambalaya Pasta-YUM TOBOTH! Our server Blake was especially great-never needed to ask for anything — he was on top of it all!

Outstanding meal served by Reese, who was super cool and prophetic in recommending the lemon pepper chicken and fried cheesecake. And the prime rib did not disappoint at all. Definitely coming back!

Went for lunch while waiting for a haircut next door. Maybe three other tables at the most during lunch hour. My daughters«Ultimate grilled cheese» panini was terrible. Mozzarella slices still formed and cold on hard cold toast with randomly spots of pesto. I had the margarita pizza which I believe the dough was from the freezer and the white hard tomatoes was completely tasteless. Service was average and acceptable but for the price of the tab and quality of food, I can assure we will not return.

We enjoyed our visit here, We came on a busy Friday night and did not have to wait for a table, We were seated upstairs between a table with a loud toddler and a private room with a loud and«lit» group, not the fault of the restaurant but anticipate close, open seating. The wine and beer selections were excellent, we both enjoyed trying a beer and wine that we had not tried before. A nice touch was that if you like the wine you tried, you can leave with a bottle with a $ 10 discount, I left with a very nice Chianti. We enjoyed the unusual food choices. I had the Squash pizza, different but good and not heavy at all and my husband had to try the wild game calzone. Good stuff and great service!

Not good. All of our food was dry and over cooked. Nobody liked what they ordered. To top it off when I got the bill all of the meals were $ 1 more than what the menu read. I wanted to complain but we were there for a birthday. We won’t go back. I’m giving it 2 stars because the restaurant is nice and clean.

Because I travel around so much, I usually look at reviews for a good local place, however, many reviews are wrong so I try anyway – in this case the low reviews are spot on… Since the food was just okay, I am paying for service. Bartender never asked how my meal was(maybe she knows not to ask) and what I believe to be one of the three owners was a lack of any personality. 3 people in the place – he can’t say how’s you lunch or how’s your holiday. Devoid of any personality and the absolute worst place I have tried in Purcellville. Might be a nice place to have an after work drink but since I go for lunch I will never be back. I would go to Magnolias instead of here – same high ceilings and dark atmosphere but more choices and better food.

Soggy calamari, soggy pizza, cold chicken noodle soup, an ambiance better suited for Golden Corral. What else is there to say? Been here twice, kicking ourselves for the mistake, three times won’t be a charm because we won’t make the same mistake again. We’re sitting here waiting for the check and we just ordered a carryout from Pizza Hut en route to home.

We like this place. Been here many times. The bar is nice and good service. It is lacking a buzz though. They need events or menu changes or music or something. Pville is boring enough so a little changes to the atmosphere would be nice to get you to keep coming back. But food is good. Salads and sandwiches have always been consistent.

Stopped by again last night, they had a special with crab and peel & eat shrimp, sounded real good so I ordered it. After the second shrimp, I got the hiccups because they were so hot. Ended up eating about 3 legs of the crab, but could only taste the heat and old bay so over ¾’s of the meal went into the trash. The shrimp overpowered the taste of the crab so much it was a waste. Waitress took the almost full plate and didn’t even ask if there was a problem. Not sure which is worse, idiot chef pairing something so hot and spicy with delicate and sweet crab, or the waitress not even asking if there was a problem with the meal.

I gave this place another chance but I don’t think I will be back. I ordered the loaded potato soup and it came out cold and had hardly any potatoes in it. It tasted like a poured a can of baby food into the cup. For my entrée I ordered the luncheon chicken salad on baguette. It looked good but it had zero taste. I don’t understand how this place is still in business their food is so blah.

I’ve eaten here at least 6 times now… the atmosphere is very good… the menu offers great Gluten Free options(which is a plus for some). The menu also has a good variety. The wine list is nice as well. Of the dishes I’ve ordered, the food is slightly above average, not superb. Some of the dishes are very rich & heavy on the butter & oil — the spinach ravioli… stay away from the lemon sauce which is basically a melted stick of butter. The mashed potatoes are heavy, the prime rib is wonderful & they have really good fries. My family members have enjoyed their meals & one of our out of town guests wants to eat here every time he is in town. The service has been good & friendly although a few odd wait staff members, but good nonetheless. Give it a try if in town, it’s a good restaurant(doesn’t compare to Magnolia’s), but a great option in Purcellville.

This is a live review. IOW… a review done while I am actually sitting in restaurant eating. When we were first seated, we were put in possibly the darkest corner of the pretty empty restaurant. We asked to be moved and were obliged. Ordered Spinach Ricotta Ravioli in the cream sauce. It was bought to the table cold. This is your basic frozen food service rail sitting in your basic supermarket jar sauce with a few shavings of Parmesan cheese in the middle. After consuming ¼ of the cold ravioli, I asked about the possibility of bread and was told that it was«working» and should be ready soon. We were never even told there was bread until then. My dinner partner ordered the fish and chips. Bought to table piping hot, crispy with well seasoned fries. Service was absent minded and sporadic at best. For a Cleaned up local saloon it hits the mark, but if they are hoping for something more, they have a long way to go.

Service was great, thank you! Food was lackluster though. Burger was subpar(frozen patty). Fries were subpar. Kids food(chicken fingers and grilled cheese) was subpar. This is pretty basic ‘Murican comfort food … I expect better/ The restaurant is gorgeous inside but the food … come on. I WANT to love this place … it’s a local eatery … but yuck. I doubt I will return.

While hanging out in Purcellville with my family, we get so excited when this small town opens up a new restaurant! She had a coupon for this place so off we went! At first I was hesitant due to the mixed reviews but after our dining experience, I wanted to make sure to put in a review for this place! First off, we happen to come in for lunch during their ‘fundraiser for dogs’. They were hosting a halloween costume and appetizer event for people who brought their dogs in costume. This event was on the patio. We took a peek at the patio and the restaurant had a whole bakery and appetizer display for all the folks/pets on the patio. We had a nice booth for our party of 5. The server was AMAZING! He was informative, welcoming, and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He also answered all of questions with such detail, that I felt like he owned the place. We ordered apps, sandwiches, salads, and kids meals… all were cooked well. He also invited us to check out the set up on the patio since we had mentioned that we were dog owners/lovers. He went out of his way to bring us a few dog cookies(for people). He mentioned that the owners wife was a baker. The service, food and ambiance makes for a nice place! One point to note is that they host happy hours in the bar, with food and drinks specials. They also allow dogs on their patio. Check it out! It’s one of the best places I’ve eaten at in Purcellville.
