Stopped at Gobbler’s Knob on the way home from a Steelers game on October 19th and ran into Bob Young who gave us a wonderful and impromptu tour of the property. We watch the weather channel every February 2nd and to see this quaint little place in person was fantastic.

Bob’s tour is personal, fun, and a great source of information on everyone’s favorite weather-hog! He’s there almost every day during the day. Should not be missed!

Although not much is going on here in September it was very cool to see it, and there was a very knowledgable man, Bob, giving tours. He was very nice and excited and seemed to know everything about Phil! We hope to be back in February someday!

Checkpoint number 5 of Rental Car Rally 2009! This is the town where Groundhog Day takes place every year. It was also the place where the movie of the same name took place. Gobbler’s Knob is where the Groundhog pops out of the tree stump and we find out if we’re going to have those few extra weeks of winter. If you’re driving through PA and it’s on your route, take some time out and stretch your legs out here! It’s always fun to visit famous places! Also check out the Groundhog Zoo where you can actually see real live groundhogs including Punxsutawney Phil!
