We found this place by accident while cycling down Burnt Store Rd. It’s an environmental/nature center with many docents keeping the place in great shape. We rode up and learned that there were several walking trails around the property. We found many great ways to learn about nature including a structure built in the middle of a field to educate children. Next to the learning center was a huge alligator pond(but we didn’t see any alligators.) Walking around the pond we came across a bird blind where once in you could see the wildlife but they couldn’t see you. Remember to log all your sightings in the book they provide. On a hot day I recommend bug repellent as I was eaten alive by mosquitos while walking down one trail. Watch out for wild boar and panthers. Oh, we also saw lots of tortoises. This is a fun and FREE place to visit although I’m sure they’d appreciate donations.
