In the mood for chicken? No seriously I mean an all out interior design explosion of chicken. Great local diner type restaurant with huge portions of delicious food. They are definitely a chicken themed restaurant but they have tons of options for breakfast lunch and dinner. I’ve had the chicken fried steak breakfast with eggs over easy twice now. Consistently good. This time I opted for the gravy on the side. A little bit of a cleaner plate doing it that way. Service can be slow. Like forgetful and ignoring style slow. We had to physically get out of our seats to ask again for coffee which came after the food arrived. Aside from that, always happy to go back.

Came back here on a Sunday and its bustling because the food is so simply good, well priced and staff here takes good care of their people. Love the smiling warm, country tainted greet you get here. So much Pride in work here. Must try. — — — — — — — This place is a local favorite, you’ll see lots of regulars and families around here, why? Because it’s all good, from the staff knowing I take my coffee black everytime, simply the most light fluffy biscuits & gravy, to pretty spicy but spectacular green chili covered breakfast burrito. Must try.

After two visits to The Hen House, I admit it, I’m hooked. The staff is incredibly friendly and efficient(the chef even came out to greet us during our first visit!), and the food is amazing. Their prices are super wallet friendly. In a word, outstanding! !

A Good place to eat. Nothing fancy. The food is always good.

This place got a silver medal for the best green chili in Pueblo from the Pueblo Chieftain, which blows my mind because the green chili I just ate was the most bland, flavorless pile of goo that I’ve eaten since I moved here four years ago. The service was pretty bad too. Other than that I can’t complain, but I definitely won’t make the drive out here for breakfast again.

Ordered the chicken fried chicken after ordering chicken fried steak every other time I’ve been there, they served me a frozen breaded chicken breast, who would of thought they would serve a frozen patty when their chicken fried steak and chicken are so good, and charged $ 12.00 for it. Will not have that again, salad was served with dinner not before, didn’t get refills and had to get up and get our own napkins. Won’t be back!

Have been here a couple times now. They are reasonably priced. Service is fast. But they always forget to bring something we ordered. Food is ok, nothing that stands out, but is also isn’t bad

Breakfast had the Chicken Fry eggs over easy hash browns and biscuits and gravy … good chicken fry good gravy and biscuits and hash browns are the string potatoes done on grill … All passed the southern stamp of approval… off the beaten path out by itself so exclusive and got seated immediately at 10 am on a Tuesday … My waitress and hostess today were very pretty and friendly…

This place has good food. The chicken is good and the breakfast burritos are awesome. It’s kinda a roll of the dice though when it comes to waiting for your food to be prepared. Sometimes it’s less than ten minutes, and other times I’ve waited upwards of forty minutes. When you’re ready for your check and the restaurant is full, it can sometimes be like trying to hail a taxi during rush hour in the middle of New York. They should have more staff to tend to their customers during peak times. Despite that, the staff is very welcoming and friendly. If it weren’t for the variable quality of service, I’d give them five stars.

Just ate breakfast here for the first time and it was a great experience! Their breakfast burritos are generously sized(server suggested small and that filled me up!) and friendly service as well. It felt so cozy inside and reminded me of the small restaurants back in Texas that I used to go to. Will be back!

Flat out: the staff there has no time for you. Mean and surly. The food is tolerable but just not worth it. They clearly don’t know the term«over easy» for eggs. I’m dissatisfied and don’t intend to return

Decent food at a decent price. The service is fast. Disappointed the there is no chicken, other than eggs, on the breakfast menu.

The Hen House Café is a great little breakfast joint in Pueblo West, CO. They do serve more than breakfast, but since I’ve only ordered off the breakfast menu during my visits, this review will reflect that. The Hen House is a comfy, welcoming restaurant. It has a definite country kitchen décor vibe, with chickens and roosters decorating every spare inch. The waitresses are friendly and efficient, and the Hen House does great business during the breakfast hours(which last until 2 pm at the Hen House… that’s when they stop serving breakfast). And the Hen House does breakfast right! The portions are HUGE(seriously, order a half breakfast and you’ll still be full) and done right. The green chile is decent, and the hash browns are nice and crispy, exactly as hash browns should be!(side note on the green chile: I’d rate it as «very good» in any town other than Pueblo, but when you make and serve green chile in Pueblo it has to be held to a higher standard). My eggs were cooked as I ordered them, and their homemade pinto beans are QUITE good. I would recommend the Hen House for breakfast unreservedly! If you are in Pueblo and are looking for a no-nonsense breakfast place, then the Hen House is worth a shot!
