Drinks and French fries were very good. The oysters were subpar; most had shells in them.

This restaurant printed a confusing menu which posted a good price for cheap oysters. The oysters were 50 cents on the lunch menu and tasted like 50 cent oysters. When they ended up costing 2 dollars an oyster the owner refused to admit to the poorly worded menu or make any concession. Avoid this restaurant. Find better oysters which is easy in ptown, or cheaper ones.

Went for a light lunch on a Saturday and was not busy. Nice atmosphere, wanted to sit outside but there was no room. We sat in the sun room right off the deck, which was very nice and comfortable. Service was good and fast. Our waitress was very sweet and all the workers there seemed to be attentive. Prices are too high for the quality of the food. We ordered a beer, iced tea(which was fizzy? So I has them take it back), the fried seafood platter with a side of the greens instead of fries, and the clam chowder. The seafood platter was ok. It was $ 20 which was a bit much for the amount you get. The greens on the side were drenched in dressing, so it was barely edible. The clam chowder was awesome. They don’t make it there, they order it from a company that makes it beautifully. It looked like they had a great night atmosphere with a large dancing area and lights already strung around the restaurant. Maybe coming back to check out the night life!

Nice spot, staff is very friendly — the BLT with fried green tomatoes is da bomb — didn’t get it but the calamari also looked great, they have live music as well!

As a frequent visitor to Provincetown I’ve been here many times before. This time I was with family and we came the day after Halloween, which fortunately for us, meant nice weather and most establishments were preparing to close for the season that day. Upon walking in we noticed all the decorations from the night before were still up and tables were still askew. The hostess was gracious enough to move a table close to one of the TVs on the wall so that we could watch the football game. No menus were presented to us because most of the items they didn’t have due to closing down the kitchen for the season. The manager/waiter simply read off a list of items they still had and their prices. The drink list consisted of 3 $ beers and the majority of well drinks were $ 5. Considering it was the end of the season the food was still pretty good. The table had calamari, buffalo wings, the cod sandwich, and the chicken panini. The panini was really the best: mozz, basil, balsamic, delicious. I’ve been here many times at night to drink and the service has been very spotty. Surprisingly for their last day of the season, the service was incredibly good. If they could maintain that level of service year round I’d be more frequent visitor.

Not bad at all. Started with the bloody mary situation and it was decent. Big stalk of celery with a couple of olives and a pepperoncini skewered in between. Even a lemon and lime. Asked for extra horseradish… it came on the side. Still… it was a little too expensive for what it was($ 12). The oysters were very good… solid. Had a little bit of the avocado and goat cheese baguettes served with a side of sweet potato fries. Baguette was nice; I really liked the sweet potato fries. Nice portion; not greasy. Was charged an extra $ 3 for sweet potato fries since I guess it came with regular fries or salad. Sat outside to enjoy the beautiful day… great view of the water and beach.

OMG the wasabi calamari! Outrageous! Sitting here looking at the bay. Staff was VERY accommodating(especially Stephanie) and helpful and the food was terrific… but the calamari is out of this world!

***Visited Sept.7th*** We were visiting PTown for the day and needed a place to stop for lunch. I wanted a place that was near or on the water. We were getting hungry and we could see with the front doors open that WayDown had a back deck. So we thought… the hell. I chose the lobster roll. Ehh, out of 5 stars I give it a 2.5. Very little flavor of the Lobster and to much mayo. Fries were good though. For two, plus ice teas, bill was $ 50. Yeah, wouldn’t go back. Good Luck –T

Is $ 12.00 for a well garnished Bloody Mary the going rate in Ptown? #2 son enjoyed the wasabi calamari and my salmon club was a big tasty sandwich. Love sitting out back on the deck with a view of the beach. Wait staff was attentive and friendly.

Location is great but food is not so. Green salad had no dressing;the burger came well well done though was ordered medium;and the clums dish was much too salty. Plus that it’s a ittle bit expensive for what you get.

Indoors or outdoors, the seating is great and so is the service. As long as you’re in the back of the restaurant, you’ll always have a beautiful view of the ocean.

Sad The mussels were old, desiccated and tough. So we ordered the Angus burger medium. It came extremely well done, with a pickle that looked like the cat dragged in. Don’t eat here.

They have a few vegan options. We loved the staff. Very genuine and friendly, and they try hard to please. We ate on the deck and the harbor view is wonderful. The Wasabi Calamari is one of the best calamari dishes I’ve ever had. Tender and fresh, with very flavorful seasonings. My main course was a special of the night, curried veggie and tofu dish. It was well prepared and well seasoned. My wife ordered the JERI’S VEGGIES and we were disappointed because it was brown rice(the menu said it was wild rice). Other than that it was OK. We told the waiter and he offered to change it, but she decided to keep it. Before we could ask for the check they put a very nicely presented dessert for two on the table(complements of the house with apologies for the rice issue). Overall a very pleasant experience.

Came here earlier today with my fiancé. One of the things that I think is great about this restaurant is, that as we were walking along looking for sit down lunch on the beach, the hostess called us in. We are from out of town and weren’t quite sure which restaurant would be good. They were right about what they offered! Awesome bloody Mary’s, orange mojito(yum!), lobster roll, delicious oysters, and fish and chips! ONTHEBEACH! Service was good, food was good, highly efficient. Minus one star for slightly less crispy fish and chips. Overall great experience!

Came here for dinner last night. I ordered the lobster roll and my boyfriend orders the fisherman’s platter. Both were great ! Lobster roll was light on mayo and roll was perfectly toasted. Fishermans platter was lightly fried and a great assortment. Would have given 5 stars just based on this experience. However, later that evening the both of us got extremely sick and the only thing we could attribute it to was food poisoning. Not sure what the root was… Bad batter? Old seafood? Etc etc…

My first visit to PTown with my partner and in the third night we had no plans for dinner and we wandered by this place. I was a bit hesitant since it had a bar feel from the outside but we asked to sit out back on their waterfront area and it was cozy and a great view of the wharf. I had the Texas chili which sounds weird in MA but it was perfectly seasoned with the right kick and good chunks of beef, served with homemade crispy tortillas that melt in your mouth. He had the Tilapia with lime salsa which surprisingly had a guacamole feel to it. Overall good service for the money. I was surprised that I was charged full price for a Virgin Mai tai but the meal and outside seating was worth

Visited Way Down Town two days ago. We gave 5 stars on location and ambients. The bar area is in the front and dinning area is in the back. We got indoor seats overlook the ocean as it was too cold to sit outside. It was very relaxing. Highly recommend outdoor seats for a day with a nicer weather. Staff is very friendly and very patient with out two young children. The only things that need works is food. We ordered Clam Chowder, Salmon Salad, Chicken with Walnut and Seafood Risotto. Though the presentation of each dish was very nice, we feel there were some ingredients missing in every dish and nothing stood out for us to feel like we really have to come here good given the premium price that we paid. Salmon was overcooked and was blend. If the food is improved, it is definitely a very nice place to visit again.

We stopped here mid-afternoon on a Saturday, mainly because of the view and because it was empty(which should have really been our clue not to stop). The place seriously had maybe 3 people in it, all seated at one of the outdoor places. When we arrived just to get drinks and an app, the waitress initially wasn’t going to let us sit outside because we were just getting apps! We basically told her we’d be quick and wouldn’t cut into dinner service and she seated us outside then. We probably should have looked at the app menu before we promised that we’d order apps, because when we were seated and ordered beers and looked at the menu there was nothing on there that we wanted to order, and we sort of just wanted to leave and go somewhere else after the service we were getting. We ended up staying for one beer and left, so I can’t comment on the food, but based on our experience I would not go back.

The location is fantastic! Sat on the bayside beach deck. Dined with three others who had decent pasta dishes, I chose the curried lobster entrée and was disappointed. The waitstaff was pretty good, attentive but not intrusive. The drinks were average price for the cape, which is higher than usual. The inside bar is host to live music with patrons dancing. It’s quite a festive time.

The worst experience in years. Please, please take my advice. Do NOT go here. The food is shockingly awful, the service was incompetent and the entire operation is amateur. It’s insulting how bad it was. The food was literally inedible. Poorly cooked and poorly presented. It was like eating at a bus stop cafeteria. The wait staff was slow, unprofessional and distracted. Ptown has some fine restaurants offering quality. This place isn’t one of them. It is a over-priced tourist trap that fails by every measure. Even on peak summer nights when every business is jammed, this sad restaurant sits dead empty. I should have realized that was a sign. Shame on me. You know a Ptown restaurant is lousy when they need to post«barkers» standing in front of their entrance hustling for gullible customers. I feel like such a sucker for having gone here. I urge you to avoid WayDowntown. It’s terrible.
