This is a pretty big store with a lot of variety. Their specialty is Cabbott Salt Water Taffy. They’ll tell you not to go across the street to Penny’s Patch because their taffy is not as good(I went to both). Aside from taffy, there are Jelly Bellys, variety of fudge, caramel corn etc. I stuck with the taffy. I don’t have a huge sweet tooth, but I grabbed all the flavors that interested me. Strawberry, coconut, molasses, beach plum, orange pineapple, and a couple of others I already forgot. The taffy had a good chew, the couple of flavors I tried today all tasted like they were suppose to.

This is the best store for kids — full of fascinating affordable curios. I loved the selection of shells and beachy treasures. Nice friendly staff too :)

Intensely tourist-y. They do have some interesting pieces, such as stuffed alligator heads, gigantic shells, and potless plants. Every shell imaginable, plus cutesy painted shells. Can be fun to look at, but nothing I’d buy(except perhaps a few natural shells for my hermit crabs back home). I guess I prefer to find my shells than buy them from a store. Their hermit crabs are hurting, but most hermit crabs at these types of stores are hurting. Barely anybody knows how to properly care for them!

How could one find anything wrong with a shop selling just about any type of seashell you could imagine? This spot, located just around the corner from Commercial St, is so bright, so colorful and so charming. Big shells. Small shells. Natural shells. Colored shells. Shells for hanging. Shells for jewelry making. Shells that would make for lovely centerpieces at a beach themed wedding. While I didn’t make a purchase I did pay attention to the the prices and I was surprised at the affordability. You could easily fill up a basket of beachy baubles for your home. Totally worth a visit on your next trip to Provincetown.

Awesome. Need I say more?! First trip to Provincetown as an adult and no better time when planning your nautical wedding. When we came across the shell shop my mouth dropped open, love love love is all I can say! It took me about 15mns to get past the stack of wooden buoys they had as I was looking for the«right two» to take back home to Newburyport. Then from there it was another half hour trying to find one or two things to surprise my fiancé with. I could have filled a shopping cart if my wallet had allowed me! The puffer fish they have hanging over one section of loose shells are so neat and of course couldn’t leave without one! The owner was very pleasant and already want to come back and pick up some more items I wish I had when I was there over the weekend. Totally worth the 2 hour drive from our home. If you are a sea faring creature like myself and love all things beach/nautical you will LOVE this shop!

Amidst the endless row of souvenir and t-shirt shops in P-Town, The Shell Shop is quite a refreshing find. It’s exactly as advertised — a store filled with a dizzying array of shells and shell products. There are little, cheap shells, rare and expensive shells, shell accessories, and so on. The many bins filled with pretty shells are very fun to look through. You can find more interesting mementos of your trip here than you might elsewhere.

So here’s the deal. I own 2 of the world’s most picky hermit crabs. I know what you’re thinking why does a twenty something own hermit crabs. And well there’s a simple answer, they’re awesome. So back to the Shell Shop in P-town, they have the shells my crabs actually like. My hermit crabs only like a certain type of shell and because I am not a six-year-old, I can keep a hermit crab alive longer than a week. They’re getting sort of creepy. The Shell Shop is also a fun place to just poke around. There’s a giant clam shell that is at least 2 feet big and a crab claw that’s bigger than my hand! They have tons of kitchy goodies ranging from sea fans, to beach glass, to beads, to you guessed it HERMITCRABS! It’s definitely a worthy stop when you’re on the Cape especially on a rainy day. Also, you can go to the Fudge/Salt Water Taffy place because they’re connected. Woot Woot.
