My husband and I had dinner here Sat. Night 2÷13÷16, we were seated earlier than our 8pm reservation, but waited some time for our server, we were told that a server had to leave so they were short staffed, no biggie, we were not in a hurry, we ordered a salad and oysters as apps, very good, we both ordered the prime rib, not so good, it arrived with grill marks, the waiter told us that was they way they always served it, we like prime rib with au jus, there was none, plus the meat was kind of dry, the waiter did offer to take it off our bill but since we both had eaten some of the meat and the mashed potatoes and vegetable we declined his offer which we were sorry after the bill arrived and we were told they didn’t take American Express, this news should have been told before we ordered, they also do not take gift cards. We will not be back. The one star is for our waiter who was very nice.

I was recently in Provincetown with family and friends and we went to Napi’s for dinner. It was so good we returned just a few days later. The atmosphere is friendly and vibrant, the cocktails delicious and the food is always perfect. In a town with so many tourist traps it’s nice to go to someplace that has been around for a long time and really understands what customers want. Both times we had the cod– one time Chatham one time Provincal. Both times cook to perfection. The salmon special was delicious was there arugula and walnut salad.

My friends and I visited Napi’s last month. We had wonderful time. The food was great. We tried salmon, whole lobster, and scallops. Everything was delicious. The waiter was great, very funny guy. I regret that I don’t remember his name. It wasn’t cheap but I can say that prices were adequate to quality.

I’ve been coming here for as long as I can remember, I’ve never been even remotely disappointed. The food, atmosphere and staff are always tip top… reading negative reviews about this place makes me chuckle, I have a strong feeling that those ppl love the Olive Garden.

I“m going on at least 7 years of Napi’s love, but I’m not biased. I just know awesome food when I taste it! Napi’s is an eclectically decorated joint at the base of Provincetown’s commercial district. The interior is warm and inviting, the service is always wonderful, and the food? Well, the food keeps me coming back year after year after year. The Russian Oysters were fresh, with just enough caviar to tingle the taste buds without overpowering the oyster below. The reason for walking through the door, however, is the Brazilian Shrimp. Large, succulent shrimp cooked to perfection in a garlic butter sauce, laid atop a bed of cilantro-lime rice, and accompanied by black beans and fried plantains. I will endure 27 mile traffic jams every single summer just for that meal alone! Typically I am interested in what my dining companions are eating, as I figure it’s good to get a feel for the whole menu. At Napi’s, I don’t care. I go to my happy place and set about cleaning my plate. If it was socially acceptable to order two of the same entrée, I would do it. I want that dish right now! The crème brûlée was excellent as well — a nice way to wrap up a meal at one of my favorite restaurants on the Cape!

To start, I liked the clam chowder a lot because it was a little different. It was definitely tasty, and it had a lot of clams. I also tried the smoked salmon appetizer, and it was exactly as described, but with a lot more smoked salmon than I expected. I actually had one of the Early Bird dinner specials: the pan roasted cod. There were two cod filets, perfectly prepared. And, it came with a rice pilaf, fresh green beans, and some fresh butternut squash. There was also hot bread and butter. The presentation was simple, but the food tasted great. I was surprised at how inexpensive it was. I arrived at about 5:30 p.m., and the place was just starting to fill up, including many families with children. The dining rooms are attractive. The service was fast and efficient, and it did not drop off at all, even when the restaurant was full.

I used to favor this place beyond all others. However, and it makes me incredibly sad, it seems like the consistency of the food has gone down hill. It is still a nice place to get off the main drag of the town and find a comfortable, relaxed climate, but the food is neither outstanding or special. The service is slow, but that isnt bad and honestly in a place like this slow service is something that fits quite well. The chowder is a bit too watery for me, but the kale soup is really the star of this place. not much going for it, but the place does have its charm. I just feel like it needs a remake and a push, because, as a local, this really hasnt changed for a decade.

This wasn’t a bad place but I don’t think it was close to the what I consider exceptionally great seafood. The best part about this experience was our waiter who was very nice. I started with the clam chowder and it was way too oniony for me and the broth was too thin. There was a lot of clams in it though. I ordered the cod Provençal and it was fine. Cod was cooked perfectly, sauce was tasty, rice was fine but nothing that really made me jump for joy when I first tried it. My friends ordered the lobster, which she loved. My other friend got the shrimp and scallop piccata which she loved! It had a lot of scallops and shrimp. Another girl in our group got the fried haddock special. They really enjoyed their meals although the haddock had the aioli plopped on top whereas she would have preferred it on the side. Overall it was a good place for a seafood dinner. Our table was crammed and super close with another table, so I felt as though I couldn’t really relax my body. We were not sure why we didn’t get seated at another table with more room.

Not impressed. When we got there we had to wait five minutes while manager was on the phone. We didn’t get any acknowledgement that we were even standing right there. Then we get a table right next to a table with loud children horsing around. And there was no one else in the restaurant! The next group that came in he offered them a choice of any table they wanted. While eating the staff put three tables together, then dismantled the tables. Five minutes later they did the same thing again — right next to us! Not a pleasant meal. The food wasn’t anything special either. All in all not worth the trip.

Delightful experience. We arrived late in evening, but were not rushed at all. Enjoyed the calamari — crispy, tender and sweet. Beet and goat cheese salad on arugula was sensational, Raye had Portuguese soup, and I had the clam chowder, soup was best home made tasted in for ever! Clam chowder was loaded with clams, and creamy but not thick, had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Napi as well, we’ll be back!

Definitely an essential part of any trip to Provincetown! The service is always pleasant and the food is consistently delicious. The décor is abundant and eclectic ensuring you see something new every time you look around the room. Prices are extremely fair and the menu has something for everyone — seafood, poultry, meat and tofu/veggies. Highly recommend reservations no matter what time of year it is. This may seem like a hidden gem but it’s certainly no secret how great it is!

In the mood for something a little decadent, I went for the filet with melted Brie. Done perfectly to rare-medium rare, the filet melted in the mouth and the Brie added a rich creamy overlay that blended beautifully without overpowering. The only discordant note on the plate was the mashed potatoes. While more than acceptable in flavor and texture, they were obviously plopped on the plate via ice cream scoop, making an otherwise elegant meal look like it had come off the school cafeteria assembly line. The service was friendly and efficient. I arrived without a reservation on Memorial Day weekend and the restaurant was busy with a full reservation book. The host took the time to find me a place at the bar, immediately clearing the detritus from the departing customer himself so I could sit down right away. From start to finish, the service was great, especially for such a busy night. The décor is eclectic and commentary on it alone could carry the dinner conversation. Overall, the ambiance is energetic but not obnoxiously loud. Reservations are definitely recommended, especially during the high season and weekends.

My very favorite restaurant in Provincetown! A wide and varied selection of entrees, appetizers, salads, etc. Their Kale soup is the best anywhere and has won awards. Some delicious Portuguese dishes and seafood selections. Excellent and pleasant service, as well. I highly recommend Napi’s — open year round!

Old– School Ptown Portuguese seafood restaurant. The service was great and the fish is fresh. I also love the bread which they serve at the table. The room is decorated very eclectically but I feel the restaurant could use a makeover. I had the breaded flounder which was fresh, but a little bit on the heavy side for me.

We went to Napi’s for their generous vegetarian section for a date night while we are in town. THe service was transactional, the food was mediocre at best — and far to expensive for what it was. We ordered pot stickers to start and they came out not cooked fully. of course we realized this after we each took a bit… waiter took them back, clearly just microwaved the remaining three and brought them back. The ones from trader joes are much better. dinner was not better — had the currey veggie dish and it tasted like frozen veggies. I would not recommend this place to anyone. we both left disappointed and shocked a place this bad could be so packed with people

I am tempted to give Napi’s five stars, but chose to reserve that rating for a perfect dining experience. Still Napi’s came close. We had 8PM reservations. We arrived a few minutes early and were immediately seated. In our party of four adults were two vegetarians, an omnivore and an individual with gluten and lactose issues. What initially attracted us to the restaurant was the diversity of the menu. Napi’s did not disappoint in that regard. I started with an Avocado Spring Roll. It was arguably the best spring roll I’ve ever eaten. My main course was the Summer Felafel Plate. The flavors were fantastic — nicely balanced and wonderfully savory. My fellow diners ordered the Avocado and Lobster appetizer as a meal, Brazilian Black Beans and Rice and Porco Em Pau. Everyone loved their meal, which is saying a lot for this particular group of picky eaters. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. The wait staff was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. We were all very pleased with our choice. It was a delightful way to end our Truro vacation. I highly recommend Napi’s for its eclectic menu, friendly environment and most important, it’s amazingly tasty food.

I love this place. I ordered the Portuguese soup as an appetizer, and the Portuguese seafood bouillabaisse. The soup was a little bland. It was more used to the type of Portuguese bean soup that I grew up with in Hawaii that was brought over from the Portuguese from the Azores; which is spicy and a tomato base. This soup was white and not spicy. Though it was good. But the bouillabaisse was awesome. It had a whole lobster and clams, mussels, and sausage. So tasty. The broth was so very savory. I was so full after that meal. I would love to come back.

Wanting to go to a restaurant that serves Portuguese food, we dined here for dinner. I had the Portuguese soup as my starter and the Lobster special for my dinner. The Portuguese soup was good. It tasted like the Portuguese bean soup back home in Hawaii. The sausage made the flavor of the soup stand out. My lobster special was a cooked lobster served with butter. Compared to my friends Lobster in a Bouillabaise, the flavor could not compare. The lobster was a bit on the dry side and needed the butter to add moisture and flavor. The lobster in the Bouillabaise was excellent though. The flavor of the Bouillabaise shines due to the tang of the tomatoes. Very flavorful. A good dinner for my first of many nights of lobsters in Ptown.
