Didn’t make it past the Hostess Twinkie at the door. We had just left the 730 Kathy Griffin show at Town Hall and we’s hungray. We had a party of 7 and Miss Thang flipped her hair and sneered«it’s gonna be an hour wait». We asked if we could sit at the bar«NO!» she snapped«It’s FULL». Time of the month, dear?

Here is a message I received after leaving a very honest and candid review. This is yet another reason I will be a patron of the Crown and Anchor… this type of clientele is a turnoff. I have never been spoken to so poorly in my life… Message: Nice that you thought it appropriate to bring your bridal party into our town where you are absolutely not welcome. Even nicer that you thought it appropriate to walk your pig hetero tuna crotches into a bar where you are not welcome. With glow sticks? Really, millennial scum skank?! Next time visit Hyannis where your vile kind is tolerated.

Getting married(to a woman so not a straight girl trying to be cool and coming to ptown) so decided to hit the crown and anchor. Turned away due to glow sticks. Offered to take them off was nice to door guy(possible owner). We were told to turn around and refused entry. Seemed like he just didn’t want girls inside. Previous night a friend of ours was screamed at in there for being on her phone. Crazy. Rudest staff… they lost 100 in covers and prob an easy 300 in drinks from a low key group of respectful(most of them the time) young professionals.

Less than stellar experience. Clam chowder arrived cold and staff seemed put off when I asked them to warm it. Scallop po-boy was good. Waiter was a joke-he didn’t seem too busy but was certainly too busy to help us with basics like water, ketchup for fries or hot sauce for sandwich. On a bright side, it was nice interacting with other patrons and their dogs.

The Paramount club, like the adjoining Wave Bar, has become overwhelmed with bachelorette parties. The girls come in woo’ing every chance they get, feeling so hip to be celebrating in a gay bar in p-town. They drive the guys away, and there is nothing fun about a room entirely full of bachelorette parties. I don’t know what can be done about this. Maybe they will realize they aren’t wanted there, and they can go to any other town on the cape(or anywhere else) to celebrate.

We have been coming to Ptown for many years enjoying amazing food til this evening. My husband and I usually make dinner reservations way ahead of our arrival until this evening, we’ve figured on a Monday it wouldn’t be necessary until we went out for dinner. Every place we attempted to go was packed, so we decided to try Crown and Anchors restaurant, boy did we make s mistake. It has to rank as the worst food we’ve ever had. What a shame to own this great location and serve this Junk. Attention to the owner You need to replace what you may call a Chef. Sorry for this review, but you earned It. The worst food I’ve ever had, and not to mention we spent 200.00 for this.

Stop here today with my girl for dinner after finding the lobster pot closed. Our waiter David was marvelous & took great care of us. Definitely deservin of a 5 star rating. Giving us plenty of time to look over the menu, answering our question, and providin great tips in helping to make our choice’s. Crab dip with grill bread was fabulous, followed with a great clam chowder. We had the free form vegi lasagna & it was as good if not better than David’s description. Right down to coffee & desert this was a great experience. It delivers everything you hope for when dining out. Thanks David Peter & Jeannie

Crown and Anchor is located directly in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Commercial Street. FYI, there is a 10% check in offer on Unilocal, off entrees. What brought us here was the outside patio seating that was Dog Friendly. It was great because its right on the street so if you like people watching, you are good to go. Our server was very nice and friendly. He was very attentive to our needs even being a few extra steps away from the rest of his tables. We arrived on a busy day after Carnival but were seated within 10 min. We stared with the Calamari, which was mediocre. It was a light breading but came only with an Aoli dipping sauce and really needed marinara. The one thing about Province town is they like there Mayonnaise concoctions on everything… We decided to split sandwiches and order a bacon cheddar burger with fries and a steak and cheese on a ciabatta roll and fries. Burger cooked perfect… on the rare side and the steak and cheese was good but could have used a little more steak to fill up the sandwich. The french fries were awesome. Thin cut and extra crispy, but not over cooked. Very addictive. Draft beer selection was weak. I tried the Cape Cod Blond, but am not a fan. Zero carbonation to this beer. Even on tap, tried it twice and did not like. Cool thing at the end was the manager took 10% off the entire bill for us. Another nice gesture had here. I would return.

Had one helluva time at Crown & Anchor. We went for their Tuesday evening variety show«Audition». The atmosphere is a little divey, the drinks are strong as hell, and the show – well, a little bit of tragic paired with a little bit of awesomeness – which, is to say: fabulous! The hosts, Kevin Aviance and Marti Gould Cummings were spot on perfect. They are gracious and completely hilarious. Loved every minute of it. We didn’t have any food here – but a tip on the drinks: Ask the server what’s good. Let her just bring you something. My first drink I ordered was awful(I think I got a whiskey sour – and it was b-a-d, BAD). For our 2nd drink, our friend asked the server what might be good – she brought us some sort of blue, rummy, tropical delight that was completely delicious(and strong). So… ask…she’ll hook you up. Get to it!

While not the most well kept facility in town, they know how to bring in the crowds in many different ways. They«wowed» me because I was lured to come back several times over the course of my week in PTown. Monday Night: Comedy Show — Leslie Jordan in the Paramount Room (He wasn’t the best comedian, but I can’t blame that on the venue) Wednesday Day: Beach Party with DJ Abel in Wave Video Bar/Pool Deck/Fenced in Beach area Thursday Night: Joe Gathreaux in the Paramount Room and Pool Deck Sunday Day: Laying out by the pool Not to mention, it was our host’s favorite restaurant in town(The Central House). The Paramount Room is flexible at a theater, or as a club. The pool deck can be divided into two areas when used as a club, or during the day as a place to lay out. They have a grill with various grilled sandwiches and a bar on the pool deck, too, along with a cocktail waiter.(Make sure your cocktail waiter writes down your order correctly, as ours — Derek — tend to forget several things as he apparently«misheard» and didn’t write down the order. The Central House restaurant is a high-end seafood and sandwich restaurant with a beautiful ambience — we were able to order lunch from here when we were at the pool deck since the grill outside on the pool deck wasn’t open yet. The Vault is a type of leather bar we didn’t visit. Wave Video Bar has nightly VJs and never a cover. And they have a Cabaret Room and a hotel. They really know how to use their space to the best of their ability, and that was impressive. Note that it seems that Malibu is their main sponsor for almost everything, so their«Planter’s Punch» at $ 14 is double the amount of liquid as most others(as two cups fit in a rum bucket) but is not that strong of a cocktail. I cannot speak for the hotel itself or any of the venues we didn’t visit(The Vault, The Cabaret Room etc). But the Crown & Anchor brings in the talent and the DJs so be sure to check out the events while you’re visiting PTown so you don’t miss out. I now truly understand why their website is «onlyatthecrown.com».

«Fucking prick» are the lovely words said by LISA who took our tickets for a comedy show(Karen Williams) we saw last week during«Women’s Week». Miss Lisa was referring to someone who had walked in just before us. We saw the exchange between the two of them. Lisa told customer she couldn’t bring water in, customer drank water, and tossed bottle in the receptacle. Customer introduced herself to Lisa. Lisa then rudely explained the Massachusetts laws of bringing outside drinks in to a bar/restaurant. Wow, why was she being so hostile? The customer did nothing to warrant this reaction. She then ushered customer in. That’s when she turned around and said, «I’ve been dealing with that fucking prick all week.» Well Lisa, you NEVER know who you’re flapping your pie-hole at. That customer is a well loved and respected woman of the lesbian community. She has never been known to anyone other than a loving, thoughtful, giving and caring woman. I have known her over 11 years this month. I have NEVER heard anyone speak to her this way. And I have NEVER heard her speak to anyone this way. Quite frankly, Lisa, I watched you verbally«kick a puppy» with your diatribe. You disgust me. SHAMEONYOU, you hateful mean lady. You are a horrible representation of this business. Andrea Meyerson came to P-Town to make a documentary of the 30th year of celebrating Women’s Week. Lesbian comedians are a focal point of said week. She was using this establishment to film Karen Willliams. She lovingly wants to share with the world the special place P-Town is for lesbians. Her heart is full of love for this town. To see you, LISA, treat her this way breaks my heart. Stay home, call out sick the next time your«mean meter» is up that high. Really, who turns around to complete strangers and says such things about a customer? For an entire 7 days, THIS was the ONLY flaw I experienced in P-Town. Every club, restaurant, host, hostess, bartender, waiter, waitress, business owner, locals on the street, everybody was happy and APPRECIATIVE to have us there. P. s. Ordered drinks at the comedy show, and they never showed up.
