I order there quite often because I work across the way. They’ve messed up on my order too many times to count. I love the food but pay attention to orders!

I love this place. Modern and sleek décor not tacky with gourmet food & good service at reasonable prices. The take out is consistently good also. Fresh sushi and tasty Chinese and Japanese options blended together without compromising either. My favorite Asian place in the area.

Came here for Mother’s Day 16″. Food was good, had to convince the waitress to set us up at 1 table, instead of 2… even though they accepted our reservation for a party our size. Other than that hiccup, everything was great!

I ordered delivery from here and quite honestly the sushi was awful. The spicy tuna roll consisted of warm filler tuna mush and my egg rolls were barely cooked with raw dough on the inside. Would not recommend this place.

We ordered takeout tonight & enjoyed some tempura, tuna & cali roll and miso soup. Everything was very tasty and arrived at the right temperature. The delivery person and man who took my order was very friendly too. We’ll definitely order from this place again & hope to dine in next time.

The Yama Fuji House Salad with tuna, salmon, mango, seaweed and spicy dressing is absolutely delicious! I also tried a few other dishes here that were quite good, but this is my absolute favorite. I can’t wait to try more sushi, and some of the other Japanese apps and dinners. Very fresh food and nice presentation. Friendly staff.

This place does not disappoint. This is my go to Japanese restaurant in Providence. The service is great they always check-in and don’t mind conversing with you. They are clean!!! The food is fresh and delicious! Their seafood rice is a must try. Their food is full of flavor. Make sure you stop by if you’re in the area.

So good! Went with a party of six and they accommodated amazingly. The Tuna sushi pizza appetizer is so delicious if you like tuna, i highly recommend it. I got two rolls and my favorite of the two was the ocean wave roll. The dumpling app is good too. I will definitely be back

This is our new favorite place for Chinese takeout. We’ve had it several times and it has been delicious every time, with very fast service and delivery — the food arrives still hot. Our favorites are the General Tso’s chicken(the medium-level spiciness is great), the sesame chicken, the beef fried rice, pork lo mein, beef with broccoli, and egg rolls. The General Tso’s is always fried to the perfect level of crispiness, and the sauce is very flavorful, with a good consistency — not too thick or cornstarch-y! I’m curious to try the egg foo young at some point. The only downsides are the stale fortune cookies(maybe the ones we got a few times were just a fluke), and slightly high prices. The last time we ordered a large General Tso’s(about 4 servings) and fried rice, it was $ 24 with tax/delivery. Not bad for«eating out» and having some leftovers, but still a little pricey for only 2 dishes. Nevertheless, it’s definitely the best Chinese takeout we’ve had in Providence, so we will stick with this place!

Came in around 3:30 for a late lunch. Waited at the front desk for 10 minutes while the entire staff was eating behind the wall. I was about to leave as they finally saw me. Service was meh. Was served hot tea in a coffee mug(think dennys). I was served my sushi on a huge platter, with no plate for me to actually eat off. I had to walk to the sushi bar to get one, I was never checked on. As I left, the entire staff was still eating. No thank you or goodbye. Food was meh. No care taken at all in the making of the rolls(falling apart as you pick them up). Everything tasted the same. I gave 2 stars because of its convenient location and how fast I got my food(which makes me wonder if they even make rolls to order, or just make a bunch ahead of time and cut them when needed). Door to the bathroom has windows in it that you can see right through. Sink was disgusting.

This has to be one of the worst experiences in my life eating or ordering sushi, the manager or owner was so rude, not only they gave us the wrong order, he got mad i did not wanted to buy what I originally ordered. I also receive from them an email with a $ 8 discount on my next order, not only they didn’t honor it, again he got mad at me, started yelling at me and making me feel like I did something wrong. I would never recommend this place to anyone, not even to my enemies(I hope i dont have any, probably just the manager there) they are very cheap in giving you any kind of sauce. Spend your money elsewhere because they won’t appreciate you as a value customer. And now I understand why is always empty. Something for sure, they won’t see me or anyone i truly care there again. Truly, A very disappointed customer.

We’ve been here a few times and it’s always fresh and tasty! No problems on the queer-o-meter either. We’ve had sushi, pad thai, hot and sour soup, tom yum soup and salads(seaweed and green). Again, all yummy. The portions are good too and the price right. really not anything to complain about. If I had to give one teeeeeeenie weeeeeeeeeeeeeenie piece of helpful criticism? and Im stretching here. is would be to dry off the lettuce in the green salad more, so there isnt water at the bottom. really, that’s all I can come up with. I’ll try different things next time and do a follow up, but for now… enjoy! cheers!

Me and girlfriend just lef Yama Fuji stuffed and totally satisfied. Luckily we were able to sit at the sushi bar, which I had never done before. The sushi chef greeted us as we sat down which was nice becuase I never see too much communication between the sushi chefs and customers in other restaraunts. I ordered a spicy tuna roll, the Flower Roll, and tamago sushi. My girlfriend ordered the chicken hibachi, shrimp sushi and king crab sushi. She enjoyed the chicken and shrimp but the king crab sushi was the star of her meal. My spicy tuna roll was excellent as was the tamago but the Flower roll was out of this world! It was amazing! The sushi chef even gave us a sample of white tuna, which we were ogling the presentation of prior to him giving it to us because it looked delicious, and it was also incredibly good. The staff was phenomenal and always there when I needed them. Very polite too. All in all, a fantastic experience! I’ll definitely be back with friends!

The Fuj deserves to be put in the high Asian food options in Providence. Sure it is new, sure it is «way» up there on North Main but once you step inside you will realize one thing, I will be coming back(that’s not quite the movie quote is it?). So I have tasted the other offerings at Fuji from my GF however stick to that huge menu of sushi and you cannot go wrong. They have a wide variety of unique beverages as well. Holy moley if they put you in the backroom, be prepared to be amazed. You don’t even realize the amount of space this restaurant has. The only complaint I have, and it isn’t a large one but in the sushi rolls I noticed just about all the fish is fried/breaded. I am not picky in this instance but I would enjoy a raw fish roll since well, that is sushi. Welcome to Providence Yama Fuji, you are right up there with Lim’s!(don’t get me started on Haruki)

YES! I have finally found my go to Asian take out spot! After what feels like years of trying to find a decent place in Providence(read: not greasy, Americanized crap), I am so so happy to have given Yama Fuji a shot. We ordered with a Groupon on a Sunday night and was surprised by how quickly take out would be ready — 10 minutes! I was skeptical at first but when my fiancé arrived home with an array of tasty treats, we found that almost everything we ordered(the only item we weren’t thrilled by was the miso soup; too salty) was out of control good. Nothing was overly greasy and it all tasted fresh. We ordered veggie sushi so I can’t speak to the overall sushi quality but we were happy with the choices we made.

My sister and I tried Yamafuji tonight, Groupon in hand! This restaurant offers Chinese and Japanese food with two different menus to look over. We decided to order sushi rolls and a combination plate of appetizers to split. Everything was delicious and tasted very fresh. The beef teriyaki and the boneless ribs were perfect, well cooked meat with very little fat(some places just give you lard to chew on it seems) I ordered the Princess Roll which was very good and my sister ordered the 2014 Roll which she said she enjoyed very much. The service was very good and prompt and we enough to bring home leftovers so thats definitely a plus! I’d definitely eat here again to try some of the other food.

This place is a fantastic addition to providence! For our first course, we had a special app which was delicious. The dish was fresh tuna wrapped around a salad of crab meat and avocado, topped with fish roe. The salad complimented the tuna wrapper and the roe was a fun addition! Since this was the restaurant’s new opening, we decided to try some of the fish to check on some freshness — I was pleasantly surprised! We had toro, sea bass, hamachi nigiri and some rolls — the fish was remarkably fresh. Seriously. In providence, whenever I order yellowtail, I am often disappointed with fish that tastes a bit too fishy. This yellowtail was fresh, with the lovely sweet aftertaste that I crave. Too bad there was no Uni(sea urchin), but the owner said this was because not that many people order sea urchin. But, since they get fresh fish from the seafood market every TWO days(yup!!), I can always place an order in advance :) I have high hopes for this place. They will be adding on hotpot and some Sichuan food for those who crave the spicy! Their drinks aren’t bad either! The service: fantastic. Very friendly staff, our waitress was always in the area, glancing at our table from time to time to make sure all was well. The owner also checked on us a few times. Keep it up, Yamafuji! I hope to keep coming back to great food.
