Finally! A good Chinese spot in this area! For the longest time I never thought twice about eating at Two 88, however I’m fed up with Chef Ho’s greasy garbage and Mandarin Garden and their soggy hairy food(yes– I found a long hair in the Crab Rangoon once). Two 88 offers dirt cheap prices and their food is delicious. For a Chinese spot their fried chicken is the bomb diggity! Their fried rice is never overly greasy, and their beef teriyaki is always juicy and never dry. I am so glad that I finally gave Two 88 the time of day. The only complaint that I do have is that the bathroom is absolutely disgusting, and looks like it has not been cleaned in years. However, most people usually carry out(since they don’t deliver) and never stay long enough to eat or have to use the bathroom. Overall, great food, great costumer service, great prices and disgusting bathroom.

I stopped for dinner takeout at Two 88 Chinese Restaurant, which is located across the street from Eagle Square(Price Rite) at the corner of Valley St and Newark St. This little Chinese takeout restaurant the standard Chinese menu of dishes and items including Szechuan, Hunan and Cantonese cuisines. Lunch Specials and Special Combinations are offered. They also offer Pad Thai noodles and fried chicken plates. The prices here are reasonable, all dishes & items priced under $ 10 before tax. The place is cozy inside which is order at the counter with open kitchen and a few tables for eating in. There are lots of colorful pictures of their featured dishes and combination plates on the walls. I ordered the S27 Shrimp Lo Mein($ 7) with pork fried rice and egg roll and Beef Chow Foon Noodles($ 7.50), since this dish look pretty good featured in a picture on the counter. The food took about 10 minutes to be ready to go. The portions of hot food were generous and the bag was heavy. The lo mein dish had tender shrimp, fresh mushrooms, cabbage, onions, & scallions tossed in very soft noodles,(overcooked). The fried rice(yellow color) had a firm texture with a mix of small tender roast pork pieces and sauteed onions. The egg roll was slightly smaller than average, filled with shredded cabbage and ground pork. The beef chow foon had a mix of very soft/tender beef slices, carrots, onions, cabbage and very soft thick noodles in a savory beef sauce. The chow foon noodles were slightly overcooked. Nonetheless, the Chinese food I ordered still tasted pretty good with fresh ingredients and I had enough leftover food for another lunch and dinner the next day.
