Tricycle Ice Cream

I had the green tea ice cream with green tea short bread cookie. I really enjoyed the ice cream being sandwiched between shortbread cookies. I want to try every flavor now.

Oh. My. Gosh. I searched for these guys for weeks but our schedules never aligned. Made my boyfriend track them down while I was at work and bring me a mint chocolate creation. Best decision I have ever made. The most delectable creation I have ever consumed. Will return!!!

I have a confession… I have been stalking this place left and right trying to find them. Finally I caught them today at the Hope Street Farmers Market, right next to the big flowing fountain. Their antique wooden tricycle with the big white logo and menu board written perfectly displaying all their magical flavors. This was my chance to finally fulfill my dreams.
There were two people in front of us trying to decide on which flavor to get. Isn’t that the truth. My mouth was beginning to water with excitement. I scan the menu. I stop at the chocolate shortbread cookie with peanut butter chocolate chip ice cream. My decision is made. I order that puppy while my sister orders the vanilla shortbread cookie with strawberry ice cream.
We get our beautiful wrapped treasures and go enjoy them under a tree. (It was extremely hot!) After taking a few photos of our sandwiches, I try to take a bite. The guy at the stand told us to wait a couple of minutes before eating them due to dry ice keeping them cold. My sandwich was not quite ready to devour but I kept gnawing at it. The chocolate shortbread cookie was rich, buttery, and chocolatey. What more could you ask for? Once it was fully thawed I could really taste the true creaminess of the ice cream. The combination was very rich and filling.
You may think why would I spend $ 4.50 on a ice cream sandwich? Because they are amazing of course! They are totally worth the calories and cost. The dessert will fill your sweet need and make you crave more.
So basically I am telling you, YOU NEED TO TRY TRICYCLE ICE CREAM!

Callebaut Chocolate Ice Cream one a Salty Pretzel Shortbread Cookie. I don’t know what Callebaut Chocolate is, but I know I like it. I also like sweet and salty, and this little ice cream sandwich hit the sweet and salty spot. It hit it so good.
Another flavor to savor? The Mint Chocolate Chip on Dark Chocolate Shortbread. Mmmm… Definitely a classic combo, definitely well executed. My husband, a chocolate obsessive, was delighted.
Tricycle Ice Cream is, in a word, adorable. The cart that is indeed wheeled around by a tricycle, the flavors, the packaging, the size, hell — even the two dudes who own and operate TIC are adorable. They have a great idea and great execution of a great product. I just wish they were always in my neighborhood so I could scarf down a ‘wich whenever I wanted (perhaps it’s a good thing they’re not…). I suppose if I really wanted to, I could book ‘em for an all-​day gig at my house via their website, which you can do. And at $ 4.50 a pop, you get your dollas worth.
One teensy thing: because of they way they’re kept frozen, they’re wicked hard. Like, ROCK hard. So you have to be patient and wait for you treat to soften up a bit before inhaling it. Who has that kind of self-​control? Other than that, bellissima. Bravo. I will try to eat all of the flavors this summer, thank you very much.

Got the chance to try one while I was walking around in downtown Providence this summer. Such an awesome idea! The flavors/​combinations are truly amazing. You can’t go wrong with any of their ice cream sandwiches.
I had the Vanilla Ice Cream on the Espresso Shortbread Cookie, it was delicious. I can not wait until the nice/​warm weather is back and I can enjoy their ice cream sandwiches once gain.

Good ice cream sandwiches by designers or art appreciating something or another (an assumption I make based on the beautiful professional hand-​painted lettering choice on the cart and cute logo sandwich packaging.). The strawberry had a mild natural strawberry flavor and the shortbread was lightly salted to balance but not overwhelm the strawberry. The chocolate was made with Callebaut Belgian chocolate (one of my fave Belgian chocolates for baking) but I thought they could use more chocolate in the recipe b/​c with the cold the chocolate flavor was very mild. Although made with natural ingredients, the firm less creamy texture on the ice cream reminded me of the texture on Blue Bunny or Good Humor ice cream sandwiches from the ice cream man trucks (and when you purchase one of Tricycle’s Ice Cream sandwiches, you have to wait a minute for them to thaw or risk chipping a tooth). It’s a charming cart, I’m sure to partake if I come across it again.

I love all natural, and I love ice cream. These guys deliver in a big way. Absolutely delicious! when you see the ice cream trike, Chase it down worth every penny! they always have different flavors but anything with chocolate is amazing.

Delicious and original! We were lucky enough to have Tricycle ice cream at one of our outdoor bouts this summer and the sandwiches were a hit! The variety of flavors makes your mouth water it is hard to order just one!

Tricycle Ice Cream is such a cool concept and they deliver some of the tastiest homemade ice cream sandwiches you can find in RI. I honestly love the unique ice cream and cookie combos that just seem to go perfectly together.
I’ve had the chance to try the vanilla bean /​expresso cookie sandwich and the dark chocolate ice cream /​salted pretzel shortbread cookie… so hard to choose which one I enjoyed more! And for such a reasonable price, it is hard not to back for more.

How can you go wrong with homemade ice cream between homemade cookies? This stuff was amazing. Found them at the Prov flea once and I haven’t seen them since. Desperately seeking ice cream sandwich… great inventive flavors. Its a must have.

Holy crap, I can’t say enough good things about Tricycle Ice Cream. Full disclosure: I know the owners Dave and Gio, and I know how hard they work and pour their heart and soul (and every waking minute) into their business. They’re doing everything right: bringing a truly brilliant blend of tastes and culinary approach to their AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS ice cream while being incredibly friendly and hard working. I’m so proud of these guys, and my only regret is that I can’t have Tricycle Ice Cream for every meal of the day. Seriously, their flavor combinations are truly innovative and delicious, and they never stop improving, experimenting, and inventing. You can tell when food is made with love, and with Tricycle Ice Cream there’s no doubt that it’s made with dedication, passion, and excellent taste!

I adore their tricycle. It’s the coolest thing ever and I wish I had one of my own. Maybe I would be more motivated to ride my bike if their was a cart full of ice cream attached to it?
I have had both the chocolate ice cream on pretzel shortbread cookie and the vanilla ice cream on chocolate espresso cookie. Both were excellent. High quality ingredients, super cute packaging, great taste. Can’t wait to try some more flavors.

I know this isn’t a confessional, but, I just ate two ice cream sandwiches for lunch. I didn’t plan on it, but I overheard the ice cream guy (for lack of a better name) telling another customer the flavors…

I went back for seconds and tried the banana chocolate chip with a peanut butter shortbread cookie sandwich. Nothing less than amazing!
