Good sandwiches. The Italian subs are right on point with the other reviews. Quality sandwich. The steak and cheese sub was decent but was dry. Suggestion is too get it with the hot relish or mayo to add much needed moisture. The willow tree chicken salad was also very good over a side salad. My son had the ham and cheese which was enough for two kids to split. Overall, great sub shop with authentic meats. Lunch time crowd is very busy and don’t be afraid to navigate the lines, the regulars aren’t and will run you over if you hesitate. Good luck and happy eating.

I really enjoyed coming to The Sandwich Hut! Super efficient ordering and our sandwich came out so fast! My mom and I each got the eggplant sandwich, which I chose to get mine on the focaccia. It was definitely a different style than I’m used to(I think it was an egg batter?) and I didn’t find the sauce to have much flavor. My mom really enjoyed hers though. I was intrigued by the homemade stuffed peppers and would be excited to try those next time! They also offer soups of the day, homemade desserts, and feature different bread options. Plenty of endless options for sandwiches, that I noticed could be delivered of you wanted. Good size seating inside for being a little place, it was nice to relax, eat my sandwich, and indulge on the homemade chocolate cake. It was nice to see the owner busy about her business for the restaurant. Local, family run and own restaurants are very special! And I love that! I would love to come back and try another sandwich :)

Nothing but love for this place for two reasons: great sandwiches and they saved my butt at work with their catering. A blink and you’ll miss it place located on North Main Street, The Sandwich Hut has some of the best sandwiches around. A wide variety, plus muffalettas(I mean, where can you get one of those here in the North?). I can get pretty picky about my sandwiches, especially when it comes to the bread, but this place never disappoints. I highly recommend any of the hot subs, which will come on toasty Italian bread. The chicken parm is my favorite, while my husband has trouble getting anything but the meatball and sausage. For my latest visit I went with a cold sub, the MTP(mozzarella, tomato, and pesto) and it was delicious. Besides the great sandwiches(and friendly service) their catering is awesome as well. My place of work can be picky about outside vendors; we’re only allowed to be invoiced, plus we can only spend a certain amount. I spent a good part of my summer trying to find a place when finally someone mentioned that I should give them a call. They have been able to accommodate us plus are super reasonably priced.

The 2stars are for the sandwich tasting good. Not so good, just fine. Eventhough I picked a piece of bone out of my shaved steak sandwich that turn out to be the shaved steak«with the works» as the cook/chashier/server corrected me. Mr 3 in 1 didnt seem to like me that much. I have stressed the fact that I wanted to dine in! By asking if Im fining in should I have a seat or order then sit down. 10 minutes later Mr 3 in 1 screams the orders title 3 times rapidly and loudly(this happened on martin luther king 2:15PM and it was not crowded that time) 30 second later he come and serves a man in front of me! Then see me and not 1 F was given! All that before I found the peice of bone. I put it in a napkin and rushed to the register and talked to who seems to be the owner/boss whaterver. she offered my money back and I was nice about it and did not mention non of what happened and said«that is fine» I didn’t bring it here for my money back. And went back to finish eating. and this lady from the staff who was so rude, sitting in the dining room blowing her nose louder than some men can do! The only thing came to my mind is HOW, how the heck can this place fets such good reviews??? Back in the days I would say ok its word of mouth review, but now! People dont be nice reviewing, be honest!

Their eggplant parm is my favorite eggplant parm in the state. The bread is so fresh and soft and there is so much delicious provolone cheese on it. They wrap it perfectly too so that you don’t lose any of the melted cheese when you take it home to eat it. If I’m not in the mood for eggplant, which rarely happens, I’ll get the smoke, pickle, pepper on focaccia, which is also amazing. YUM.

I’m always looking for the Italian Cold Cut sub that was a staple of mine growing up in Maryland. These things were sold all over the place including delis in the backs of beer and wine shops. I’ve found a sandwich that lives up to the expectations from my youth in the Allitalia from the Sandwich Hut. This an ample offering of well flavored meats, provolone, LTO and hot relish & pepperoncini. Vey nice to find a place in New England including the hot relish & pepperoncini without asking. The«pack» of the meat, cheese and vegetables is very good. You can order this sandwich just as-is and it’s perfect. Although sometimes I take a little mayo. I want you to know the kind of person you are dealing with here. If I could improve anything here, I would make the bread a little crustier and have the place be open on Sundays. These sandwiches would go perfect with an NFL game. Go Skins!

If you’re looking for a place to get Italian subs, look not to Federal Hill. Instead, look no further than the Sandwich Hut. The décor inside is dated, sure, but that doesn’t matter. The quality of the sandwiches here is second to none. There’s plenty of street parking and a lot. Outside you might notice some basil growing near the parking lot(bonus points!). Whenever I come here, I always get a member of the parm family. That is, either chicken parm, eggplant parm, or meatball parm. All three sandwiches are outrageous. Rich and delicious sauce, tons of provolone cheese, and tasty fillings. The bread is also phenomenal too, freshly baked and delicious. I can wax for days about how great these sandwiches are, but it’s best you’d just go out and eat one. Non-parms are good too, with the Allitalia and mozzarella sandwiches standing out. Service is courteous, but it can be super, super busy in the afternoon around lunchtime. I usually go for dinner and have no problems.

I love this place… I’ve been coming here since I was a CHILD, it was the stop my grandparents used to take us to grab food before making our summer vacation treks up to New Hampshire so I have fond memories of Sandwich Hut. The major perk of this place is they deliver throughout the East Side(not many places deliver here, and those that do, aren’t that amazing) I love that on a random afternoon if I have friends over and we don’t want to leave but I have no food, a quick call and delivery later we have some really authentic RI style Italian Grinders or Sausage/Meatball sandwiches. Their braciole — OMG. Being Italian, I’m SUPER picky about meatballs and braciole and the old world style they make theirs with is just amazing… it’s(almost) as good as my grandma’s :) C’mon…you can’t EVER say something is better than your grandma’s! Staff is always friendly and patient, street parking is normally always available(except during the busy lunch hour), and the food just brings me back to being a kid at my grandparents in North Providence… great place!

I don’t usually rave about sandwiches, but there’s a reason there is always a line here at lunch. This is my go to spot if I’m craving an italian sub: the al italia. You’re welcome.

I don’t know how I haven’t reviewed this yet. They are awesome. Kinda divey place, hasn’t been updated in a million years, across from Pep Boys on N. Main St in Providence. I usually get the eggplant parm which is my go to choice most places. However, because someone posted the picture of a MPR on fb I had to go try it. It was mozzarella balls, prosciutto and roasted red peppers with oil. All for less than $ 10 for a large. The large sandwich can definitely feed two people easily. They also have Yacht Club soda, birch beer is my favorite, of which they return the bottles to the processing facility. Take a look on the magnet board, I’m sure that you will come across some familiar names there.

I am a huge fan of prosciutto sandwiches and these are delicious! Located pretty close to the 95 and easy to get to. Really super nice people working there. Sit down or order at the counter. Small, neighborhood place.

My family has been going to the Sandwich Hut since the early 1970s. For years I only got the Deluxe grinder. Now that I’m a little more flush, I only get the Allitalia. Both are stupendous cold cut subs. If I lived in RI I would explore the rest of the menu for sure. I love this place! My mouth is watering as I write this. Don’t be concerned about the rumpty-dumpty look of the place. It’s the real deal.

This place is unassuming, just off of North Main St. We were trying to kill time while waiting for a bus at the bus station and decided to drive up the street for some grub. First, it opens at 10AM and the whole menu is available. And if you are like me, 10AM is the perfect time for a sandwich. I ordered a roasted turkey small sandwich with cheddar cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato, and honey mustard. The small is a 6 inch sub full to the brim with meat. Super filling, fresh, and totally delicious. My mother ordered the eggplant parm sandwich, also a small, without the bread(she does stuff like this but I love her anyway). An Italian through and through, she exclaimed that the sauce tasted just like her own(high praise!!). The total of the two sandwiches was $ 15.50. The two attendants were incredibly nice and helpful. Willing to make any changes and very accommodating. The place was empty at 10AM but there were plenty of seats and a very causal, relaxed atmosphere. We will go back the next time we are waiting for a bus in Providence and I highly recommend that you do the same!

Been going to Sandwich Hut for years. They always make a good sandwich. Hadn’t been in while though, but I recently went back because I read Hilary H.‘s muffaletta review. Now I wouldn’t call myself a muffaletta expert, but I’ve eaten dozens from Central Grocery in New Orleans over the years. So I think I can judge based on eating what many people call muffaletta perfection. While the Sandwich Hut version isn’t the same as NOLA’s Central Grocery original, it’s pretty darn tasty. Something in it, and I think it was the olive salad, was a little sweeter than I was expecting. That didn’t make it necessarily bad, although I prefer my sandwiches not sweet in general. It also didn’t have the sesame seed bread either(compared to the original), so that was a little disappointing. The ½ sandwich is a bargain at $ 6.95 and plenty for 1 person. All in all, the Sandwich Hut did a very good job at creating a very good muffaletta. I will return!!!

Get the allitalia! Seriously, it is delicious! Prices here are reasonable, the staff is very friendly. There is small little patio out back with about 4 tables. They have yacht club sodas here. I also had a bite of one of their sampler brownies on the counter — sooo fudgy! Keep in mind that other than Chowder on Fridays, they do not make soup during the summer.

Absolutely delicious sandwiches. I got a large Allitalia which was more than enough and was so good. The meat is so flavorful and they definitely don’t skimp. The hot pepper relish was awesome, not too overpowering. This is my new favorite sandwich place in the city!

Came here for lunch on a Friday 1pm and it was pretty full with only 1 table available. A good number of people take out. There is some seating in the back of the shop as well since it was nice weather. The staff were very friendly. We elected to get the meatball sub and it did not disappoint. Meatball sub — perfect crisp bun not too light and not too dark, average meatballs, added provolone and they gave plenty Overall, I’d come back to try other things on their menu.

Lots of love from the community and food-lovers alike, and I can certainly see why. Tucked away on Main St, this little hut d’sandwich can be easily missed unless you take a look on the website or just talk with the locals. Be warned, if you come here during rush hour(lunch hours), be prepared for a fairly long line. The meat here is fresh, made in front of you in a surgical precision. I had the Muffuletta and the Allitalia, and both were fairly distinct and full of personality and flavor. I wasn’t a big fan of the bread for the muffuletta, but really enjoyed the sweet relish condiments that blended well with the saltiness of the cured meats. The Allitalia was pretty intense, and trust me(and all of the other Unilocalers) that a small sandwich is more than enough for one mortal. Next time, I do plan on trying some of the warm meat sandwiches, but until then you should definitely pay this place a visit! ps: check-in with the Unilocal app and you can get a free beverage! After seeing these folks at the Merry Marketplace event, I figured I would give them a try when I had a work from home day for work. I really want to give a higher rating than what I’ve given, but I’m hoping my next trip will give 5 stars. I’m a fan, but it’s not as good as it gets… yet. Lunch is busy. Beyond busy. There is no rhyme or reason to what line is what, and sometimes you’ll pay for your sammich even before you order it! A number system, deli style, would probably make things a lot less confusing for all involved. For my first sandwich, I tried the Italiano Cubano, as I had tried a piece of it when at the Marketplace. Sandwich was BURNING hot. I had to give it about 15 minutes before it was even edible, which was really frustrating after waiting a while for the sandwich itself. The Cubano wasn’t what I expected based off of what I tried at the Marketplace, as it was a lot spicier and HOTHOTHOT. Not my cuppa tea. That being said, the bread was delicious! DELICIOUS. The half size is huge, and not too too expensive. I can get a foot long sub at Subway for the same price, but this one is of higher quality. Next time I go(and yeah, there will definitely be a next time, these guys deserve a second shot) I’ll be checking out a meatball sammich! There’s also a very nice outside terrace that I’m pretty stoked for once theweather gets better. Parking was a breeze as well!
