This place is great! I’ve mostly only come here for drinks after work. It’s usually pretty quiet at this time of day, but the staff is always super friendly and fun to chat with. They recently joined forces with a Jamaican food restaurant, so they have awesome Jamaican food now. The jerk chicken wings/whole leg are amazing, spicy and full of flavor just like it is in Jamaica. The patties are also amazing. I’ve dropped in for music once or twice and they have a nice stage area. Apparently they do an awesome reggae night that I would like to check out too.

I went here for a pint, a bite to eat, and to throw some darts. They had two dart boards in a dedicated area, so it looked promising. Unfortunately, both boards were unusable. Both were chewed to bits. One had the wire coming off, and one had a huge bulge in the middle. When I asked if they ever changed the boards, the bartender said no, and they even have a league that plays there. I guess they must switch out the boards for league play because in no way whatsoever would league players use those ratty boards. No way. Ain’t gonna happen. I decided to stay for a bite. I ordered an «On The Go Patty Special» sandwich, which was supposed to come with fries, as clearly indicated on the menu. I pointed to the item on the menu, and I picked my choice of patty. I watched the bartender as he tried to figure out how to put my order in the computer. It took him a couple tries, and he had to refer back to the menu a couple times. The bartender brought me a sandwich only. I can live without fries, so I ate it. It was good. When I got the bill, he charged me for the sandwich with fries. I paid my bill and left a 20% tip because I always try to be a respectful patron. However, I just had to ask about the order. The bartender said he brought me a «patty with a side of bread.» Yes, that’s right. It wasn’t a sandwich. It was a patty with a side of bread, even though he charged me exactly the same price as the sandwich I pointed to on the menu. I would never even think to order a patty with a side of bread. I guess I learned something new today. To his credit, he wasn’t rude, and he offered me a free side of fries to go. However, he was in no way going to admit that he brought me the wrong order or charged me the wrong price. He was also incredulous when I said the dart boards were unusable. A short walk to the boards would have convinced him, or maybe not… This might be a good place, but it’s definitely not for me. I don’t like to leave reviews under three stars, but I really didn’t have a good experience here.

I would give this place more stars but the false advertising is out of control. I came here specifically on Friday night to listen to a band that was advertised to be here from 10pm-2am, paid $ 10 each for two people to get in, it’s 12;16am and there’s no band in sight. This also isn’t the first time it’s happened. I paid extra, spend a lot of money here regularly as I enjoy coming but after tonight I think it will be one of the last times because I can’t trust them to stick to their word

The Squirrel is a decent bar… Went in expecting to throw some darts but ended up catching some live music. Long story short, I was only able to have a beer and move on(I really wanted to throw darts)…I will have to go back to do an in-depth review.

The ONLY reason this place isn’t getting a one-star rating is because the service people are excedingly friendly. We came in here to get away from the family for a couple hours on New Years Eve. I had been saving calories for a good hot boozy drink and this place got fantastic ratings. For Claire, the bar simply needs to have beer readily available. Obviously that’s not a problem. But when I order a hot buttered rum and the bartender cocks his head as though I’ve just spoken Mandarin to him, even my extra firm hold hairspray cannot keep the spirit lifted. Okay, so no hot buttered rum. What other hot drinks do you have? Oh, none? You don’t DO hot drinks? Ok. Give me a White Russian. I recieve my drink, and I notice a couple of, what’s this… curdles? This fool just used up the last splash of his expired cream in my urine sample sized drink. Ok, ok. I’ll just drink it and hope it’s passible. Nope. Tastes like coffee flavored corn syrup with bottom shelf booze. And bits of curdled half and half. Don’t forget the curdled half and half. On my next drink I play it safe and order a glass of wine. Oh, what’s that? You’re out of wine? Check please. Never again.

I love this place. Not only does it have some of most unique décor of any bar in Providence, but the environment itself is just really awesome. Its got this upscale dive quality to it. You can’t help but feel relaxed and at home when you walk downstairs into this place. The full range of beers, and liquor lend to a variety of different tastes. Depending on what night you go, it can be pretty dead inside, in which case you’ll probably find Kyle beating away on the drums on stage. Thats just the laid back kinda vibe this place is. If Kyle isn’t there, its cool because whoever is there will not only help you out nice and fast but is always friendly and willing to chat. At least thats how it’s been in my experiences. This place has its basic bar food collection, it won’t be winning any underground culinary awards any time soon, but this is a great place to go if you wanna see some live music, if you want to relax with some whiskey and a beer, or if you’re just catching a cocktail or two with friends after work.

Here for a birthday party and I must say I’m pleasantly surprised. I don’t come to this area very often(aka I don’t leave the east side) despite having lived in Providence for several years, the drinks are cheap(a miller high life tallboy is $ 2.75 and a well whiskey gingerale is $ 4.) The staff is friendly and unpretentious, the music is great, the pool games are free and plenty. The place isn’t exactly swarming tonight but I feel once the word gets out this place might be the next hot spot. Definitely would recommend. The affordable bar food(fries, mozzarella sticks, quesadillas etc.) certainly doesn’t hurt their appeal.

Reasonably priced drinks. Music not too quiet or too loud. Reggae Sundays! The DJ is really good. However, the lose a star because he changes the music to often and if your song cones on, it’s hard to enjoy because it’s gone as soon as he starts to play it.

Checked out this place after a show at The Stadium Theatre. It happened to be 90’s night meaning they had a DJ spinning 90’s tunes that had this chickie feeling quite nostalgic! We came for a beer and ended up staying for a few more! The bar tender Noah was very nice and attentive. The bar itself has been updated furniture wise and definitely deep cleaned since the Century Lounge days! They have 3 pool tables so we played a few games while enjoying our beers. I used the ladies room and have to say — it was clean. And, it had a hook on the door AND a little table in the stall to hold any 10 gallon purse you care to drag around Providence! Any bar that caters to its female clientele by remembering the little things like that — makes me happy! When outside I noticed they have a food menu. We had already eaten but thought that could be a handy option for a future visit. They have a digital jukebox for nights that there is no live entertainment and darts if pool isn’t your thing. They also had quite a few tv’s so, watching a game would be another great excuse to come check this place out. Free parking literally right across the street! I will be back !

I met a friend of mine at this place yesterday. He likes to play pool and he found this place, they have 2 pool tables. There are tvs everywhere, the bartender said they just opened but the décor looked like it had been on the walks for years. When you walk in you walk down some stairs and the room opens into a veryvery large bar. They lot of cool nick nacks on the walls, they have their ATM inside of an old phone booth, that was cool. Overall we had an awesome time, the female bartender was really nice she said they do live music on the weekends. I will be back.
