Only was able to go once while visiting Providence but this place was great. I can’t believe it’s closed. It was so nice to see something different in a mall food court setting.

I’m surprised this place is so well reviewed! I was expecting the combo to be a good deal(since we are in a mall food court, after all), but the portions are small for the price: it costs almost $ 8 for two 6 oz. styrofoam cups, the saddest of presentations! The whole ordering process was confusing(what comes in a combo?), and the employees were not helpful. I got the chicken tikka masala and palak paneer, and they both tasted salty and not very fresh or flavorful. The lacking flavor would have been OK if the food was warm! I would take Kabob and Curry over this any day – for about the same price(if you get a lunch special) you can get enough food for two meals, you can actually be served, and the food will be hot and flavorful! The Providence Place food court is not the best, but I would still go almost anywhere else but here!

This place is delicious… and yes, it’s in a mall. And the only place worth eating in the mall. The potato in fenugreek is sooo good, as is the chana masala. But I hate to say it, but this place was dark today even though all the other places were open. I hope it’s just closed for today, Sunday.

I was SO excited to finally see something different in a mall food court, and I wasn’t disappointed! Lots of choices, freshly prepared, hot, and delicious! Very accommodating staff. The chicken korma and samosas were excellent! One star off for their nann bread, which was just ‘okay.’ . REALLY good!

I cook Indian food and my mother has cooked Indian food for almost 26years. We know what good and bad food is and this was quite unacceptable. The food did not have salt, was very plain without any life in it. I understand that they give it for a reasonable price, but that does mean they can serve bad food. I grew up eating Indian food and I will say that this was the worst Indian food that I have had in my life. I feel sorry that management do not realize it but I wish they do and cook good food to compete with the other restaurant in the mall.

I go here EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I’m in PPM. The workers here are friendly and they remember your face. The food here is delicious. It’s also quite affordable. Most people get the combos, which are like 1 veggie option over rice. Or 1 veggie 1 meat over rice. Or 1 meat 2 veggies over rice. For the veggies they have channa(chickpeas), lentils, potatoes, peas and carrots, spinach and paneer. Sometimes they rotate other dishes. For the meats(chicken) you can chose from curry, korma, vindaloo, tikka masala and a few others. The combos are about $ 7 You can also order freshly prepared meat dishes as well as freshly fired naans and rotis. All of the naans and rotis have options for cheeses and other fillings. My go-to order is usually channa, chicken tikka masala over rice and the green sauce. You have to ask for it and I have no idea what it is and I can’t quite put my finger on it. It just seems to add zest and enhance the flavors of everything. I throw little dollops of it here and there on the rice and meats and everything. By itself it’s quite overpowering. I love paneer but I don’t usually order the spinach and paneer dish. It usually only has 1 or 2 pieces of paneer. Another thing I like to order is the paneer roll. They also have a chicken option. It’s about $ 6.75. It’s like a chalupa from Taco Bell. The bread is thick like a pita and maybe fried? I dunno once it’s wrapped up and rolled it’s had to tell with all the juices permeating the bread. It has sliced tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce. It comes with a flavorful crispy bread. Thinner than a tortilla. It’s speckled with tons of herbs and spices. It makes me feel better purchasing from family owned restaurants than chains like Popeyes or subway. And for about the same price you’re getting so much more value and quality and taste!

Great food. Not to be expected in a mall food court. Had the chicken vindaloo, spicy but not too spicy. The basmati rice side was also quite good. Not sure what the side dish with peas and potatoes was called, but also good. All this for $ 7.95… Unbeatable

I think this is the best place for Indian food, which is crazy. Cause it’s in a mall food court. lol but maybe idk too much about Indian food. I’ve tired India & I think this place has better flavor and heartiness.

This has been my go-to spot for food in the mall since I’ve been coming to Providence Place. Sad to say that the food seems not as good as it used to be. Their palak paneer used to be great, but this time it was so gross. They must be using some kind of pre-puréed frozen spinach. Had very little flavor and a baby food texture. Almost no paneer in it, just a bowl of mushy processed spinach. Chicken tikka was good, rice was fine, but my mango lassi had chunks in it. And not fruit chunks. Dried yogurt chunks? Flavor chunks? No idea. I would still give this place a try again. Maybe the holidays just hit them really hard. Really hoping this was just a fluke cause this used to be the best place for food in the mall.

Meh mall food… Natick collections Indian fare set the bar high… Sauces are watery and all their vegetarian dishes were over salted. The food was cold, the samosas were cold. Edible but cold, oversalted and watery. I guess the bar I place for mall food is measured against some good contenders. ;-(

We lived in South India for nearly three years and I was very surprised to see their sign that advertised dosa, because I’ve never seen dosa on a menu in the United States. It’s one of the favorite foods of our daughter so we were excited to surprise her with it one day. It was horrible. And expensive. The mango lassi was terrible as well; the texture was nothing like any lassi we’d ever had in India. Maybe they do North Indian food well(since that seems to be more common in the United States), but the South Indian dishes we had were some of the worst Indian food we’d ever had. Also, we spent $ 30 for a meal that would have cost us less than $ 5 in India.

So my husband and I have been to Chennai in India and loved the food there… Tadka India is the closest we have gotten to authentic Indian cuisine in RI. We have tried other places but we keep coming back here. It’s a little funny that our favorite Indian restaurant is in a mall food court. We make special trips to the providence place mall to get this food which says a lot because let’s face it, the mall parking sucks! I love that they change it up and have mango chicken on the menu someimes. My husband always gets the vindaloo and curry. why mess with a good thing, right? I like coming on the weekends for their specials like bhel poori. Another thing to think about when eating here, the food is quite healthy for you!

I was damn impressed with the food from Tadka. Probably the best food I’ve ever eaten from a mall food court. They really raised the bar with this place. With giant portions and prices that dont break the bank… you can’t go wrong.

Since I came here to Providence, I have been accumulating a list of «go to» restaurants in the area. One of my favorite foods includes Indian and Providence really doesn’t disappoint when it comes to this type of Southeast Asian food. There are so many to choose from so find one place that matches your taste! Tadka is located in the Providence Place mall in the food court next to the Japanese restaurant. I always see Indian people eating there so it’s got to be pretty good right? Since I’m the laziest of people and I don’t want to drive, park and pay the parking fee, I use to place my orders. I find that of all the Indian restaurants, they have by far the cheapest dishes and make ordering from them through Foodler more affordable than many other places. I find all their dishes including the chicken curry, chicken tikka all great. You can order from mild(not hot at all) to so hot you’ll likely slough your mucous membranes! What’s probably my favorite part of it all is that they have a lot of different types of naan that I don’t often see anywhere else. There’s a tandoori chicken naan with literally little pieces of chicken baked into the bread. It makes it oh so tasty. They also have garlic, regular, and mint and many other that I still haven’t had!

Mall Food Court + Indian Food = Suspicious However — it was good, especially by food court standards. The sauces are not particularly layered or complex, but still flavorful, you get a large portion of rice and you can order a huge yummy naan to boot. Also, if you are undecided, the friendly staff will let you sample the different options before you make your choice. I got one of their standard meal deals — Chicken Tikka Masala(*yawn*, I know, but I couldn’t resist), the Aloo Mutter, the meal included rice and I also got a massive garlic naan for under $ 13. If you have an inkling towards Indian Cuisine, and are not willing to leave the confines of Providence Place, this place is A-Ok for a quick meal.

OMGoodness. For Indian cuisine in a food court, this place is absolutely exquisite. They let me try a few curries and sauces as I was making my decision and all had a ton of flavor to each. I ended up getting the chicken paneer wrap with cheese, lettuce and tomato. It came with a crispy, garlic naan. I asked for extra spicy. It was spicy, herby and the chicken was so tender, I almost contemplated getting another one after I finished the wrap. The crispy naan was a good addition, cutting out some of the spiciness and adding a bit more flavor onto the palette. Next time I’m in Providence Place, I will go hungry just to eat here. And I forgot to add, they don’t add MSG, everything can be gluten free, dairy free, and vegan without compromise of flavor.

Stopped here for a quick dinner on the way to an IMAX movie. Not bad for a for a food court. The garlic naan is really good. I got the chicken tikka masala and chicken korma. They taste almost the same but are good. My friend liked his food. The rice by itself is not good but I’m not sure any plain rice is. It adds a good texture to indian dishes though. The staff was really nice and offering us samples of stuff we were looking at without us even asking. A solid option if you happen to be in the mall

Whenever I decide to eat at the food court for dinner I always want to eat something really bad for me(Johnny Rockets, Popeye’s, etc.) but the last couple of times I decided to be good and go to Tadka India instead and I’ve been pleasantly surprised. Their chicken options are delicious and this last time for my vegetable side I had some sort of eggplant and pepper dish that was very flavorful. The people that work there are friendly so try something different for a change and check out Tadka India, it’s great!

Ok, I’ve eaten here three times… The first time was great. A sample guy handed me a portion of Tikka Masala to try and it was delicious so I ordered some. As I was waiting I noticed a huge bubbly portion of Naan bread being made so I ordered one of those too. I was super hungry, but it was seriously good(like, couldn’t wait to try more on the menu good). The second time was also good. I got veggie samosas and a side of some chicken dish I can’t remember. Best samosas I’ve had in awhile. Third time I’m in a hurry. I get just samosas and needed a beverage so I decide to try the«mango smoothie». So the guy goes to the mini fridge, pulls out some premixed orangey stuff and pours it into a plastic cup over ice cubes. Insert straw. Seemed kinda weird, and I should’ve been wary but like I said I was in a hurry and needed a quick snack. Fast forward 3 – 4 hours. OMG violently ill. Like rolling on the floor terrible food poisoning. NEVERAGAIN! It was probably the«smoothie» but I would never chance it. Awful.

I usually avoid Indian mall places because it’s makes me just crave good indian, but I was swayed with the sample of tikka masala being handed out. I ended up ordering the combo 2 w/a veggie and a meat and was then presented with a sample of every veggie dish so that I could make the right choice. I ended up with the chana masala because it had a little spice to it — again something I don’t expect from a mall venue. The servers were ubber friendly and when I realized that I could get a free naan by checking and went back for it, I was greeted just as nicely and they fired up one on the spot while they sent me back to my table to eat and wait. With a nice wave, I got the piping hot naan and it was a great accompaniment to my meal. I am happy to take indian off my taboo mall spots for the future.
