I tried this food truck at a local farmer’s market. I had the grilled veggie sandwich, which was delicious in every way. My mom tried the«build-a-bowl», which was excellent and reasonably priced, with a nice variety of options.(They should really advertise this better — it’s not listed on the main board.) We also got a strawberry basil lemonade, which I liked but my mom didn’t — it was *very* tart, so your mileage may vary. We had some vegan cookie dough balls for dessert, which were pretty good but a little bit gummy — that is the nature of vegan cookie dough, after all. All in all, highly recommended, especially the sandwich and the build-a-bowl.

I saw this yellow truck at the Providence Flea, and it was love at first sight! Not only do they accommodate my vegetarian diet, they take care of my gluten free friends as well. I had the BBQ seitan sandwich today, and it was delicious! I loved the addition of purple coleslaw to the creation, it added just the right combination of crunch and yum! I was skeptical about my side of cauliflower at first, the price seemed a bit high for what I received. Once I tasted it, I was totally won over. The cauliflower is cooked just right, and the dipping sauce was fantastic. Totally worth the price. Can’t wait to try Sprout again!

Very boring addition to the Providence Food Truck scene. I got the fried zuchini and the fried cauliflower as well as a «Build your own Bowl» The fried veggies were VERY greasy and pretty much just tasted like crisco and flour. Not the fresh kind of item I would expect from a vegan truck, the sauce was also pretty lackluster. The bowl was okay but no better than any salad I could throw together at a Whole Foods. The girl working the window was very pleasant which is about the best thing I can say. Probably won’t go back.

I had high hopes for this place mainly due to the lack of veterinarian food trucks in PVD and the lack of food trucks that serve something really creative and flavorful. Alas it seems like Boston’s Clover Food Lab menu and flavor will surpass this place for a while. The staff was really friendly, the service was fast, the portion size was good, and the pricing was great. I got the spicy tofu wrap and on the upside it was packed with veggies, corn salsa that tasted alright. On the downside, the homemade salsa tasted sour instead of spicy, the tofu wasn’t spicy at all(and seemed haphazardly dunked in some form of marinade). Also, combining the salsa juices and their unfortunate choice of wrap(more like a mushy tortilla) all I was left with was a mushy wrap that would’ve passed like something Brown University catering tossed at you. I really hope they change their choice of warp and salsa recipe, but I’ll be back to try their bowls in the future.

Cute truck, fairly quick service and decent prices. The Black Bean Burger tasted yummy but was totally messy and lucky for my husband set off more than a few of my messy food neuroses so I gave the rest to him. He enjoyed it. The zucchini bites seem overpriced at first but the«bites» are huge and the cilantro lime aioli was delicious. I wish I had seen the«Build a Bowl» before I was actually ordering because that seems like the best deal. Choose your veg, choose your protein and dressing…$ 6 and your ready to go. I tried them out at a food fair and their line was by far the shortest but I think that’s only because the general populous seemed put off by a «vegetarian» food truck. Where as if they didn’t address that issue in their branding, people who otherwise wouldn’t eat«vegetarian» probably would never notice there wasn’t any meat on the menu…

Good food, resonable prices. I had the potatoe and chive soup. Very yummy… like liquid mashed potatoes. I will eat at Sprout again.

Walking around campus one day and discovering the Sprout food truck was one of the most exciting things to happen at Brown. We don’t have as many vegan options on College Hill as you would think given our infamous vegan/hippie reputation, so this was definitely a necessary addition. It’s an awesome concept with great staff that are very knowledgeable about the products and will even give you samples to help you decide what to order, and I have loved everything I have gotten there. I had a great rice bowl, about 15 awesome peanut butter cookies, a seitan and beet sandwich, and the new sweet potato chickpea burger wrap. The food is great, and the fact that they change the menu frequently is also a plus. That being said, it’s really not THAT great for a vegan, especially one like me: one that doesn’t like faux meats. It’s heavy on the tofu and seitan, and many of the options are vegetarian with vegan options. If you want most of the sandwiches vegan, you can’t have the sauce. They will replace it with a salad dressing for you! And the lemon tahini is pretty good(but slightly oily), but it is sad to know that I am not having the dish the way it was intended to be eaten. It’s so easy to find vegetarian options from places that aren’t even specifically vegetarian – hey, vegetarians could order anything they want from the grilled cheese truck down the street! But vegan options are different. If Sprout made more things vegan and stopped using so much dairy and cream sauces, I would give it 5 stars. I also wish they would use less faux meats, and the new sweet potato burger and carrot soup are both a good start! But all you vegetarians and vegans, definitely check it out! And carnivores, the peanut butter cookies are the shit. You won’t even know they’re vegan, and you can just forget that you are helping animals/the environment by eating it. Who cares about that stuff anyways…

First of all, this bright yellow truck is adorable, especially its chalkboard, which is decorated with small illustrations of vegetables. The exclamation point in its name is slightly gratuitous, but I’ll allow it, because the presence of a vegetarian food truck on College Hill deserves an exclamation. Don’t expect a lot of variety: Sprout’s menu basically offers veggies and a protein source(tofu or seitan, usually) on a sandwich, salad, or rice bowl. What it does, though, it does well. I went with a seitan sandwich($ 6) with roasted red peppers, baby spinach, and herbed cream cheese. The wrap(«sandwich» was a slightly misleading term) came piled with well-seasoned seitan and a generous amount of vegetables. The mere fact that the people at Sprout! can flavor seitan well makes this food truck worth checking out. Also highly recommended: the breaded cauliflower appetizer, which comes with caramelized onion dip and is outrageous.
