Came here twice so far. Phenomenal service and food. I highly recommend checking this place out if your in the area. The owner is always here and takes pride in his business. This will be my new stop when I’m in the area. Try the Bomb Stir Fry wrap, it’s huge super delicious and the prices are great!

So my experience at Skewers was awesome. The guy was really nice and recommend the chicken shawarma which was really garlicy and tasty. I thought it tasted good. I wish I would of got the green stuff in it too but it was pretty good without it. It is a little more expensive than East Side Pockets but Skewers pockets are bigger. They also have a soda machine with unlimited drinks which I do not think East Side Pockets does. The reason why I took stars off is because after a hour of eating here I started to feel really bloated and my stomach started to hurt. I eat out often so it could of been something else I ate but I can’t help but think it could of been this place. Another reason I think it might of been here was I ate with my boyfriend and his stomach hurt too. He had been here before and did not feel sick after the first experience. The decision is up to you. I really did enjoyed my chicken shawarma.

I tried this place recently and as much as I want to like every place I review Skewers just misses the mark by a long shot. For starters their rice is bland boring unsalted. The pita bread I had was stale. The chicken was even less flavorful than the rice! I will not be going here again and should have just gone to the other pita. read wrap joint(Eastside Pockets) on this strip. Honestly this was the worst lunch I have had on Thayer St.

Had the Kafta wrap after being lured in by the soccer match on the TV. It really didn’t have any taste. It felt like the pita and the ground beef were old. The tabouleh was the only thing I could taste on the whole wrap.

Big portions and quick indeed. Have only tried the«Mexican» options so far but tastes great! A bit saltier than I am used to, but I like flavor so I don’t mind. Anyway, what I like is this sort of charm to the place. Rent on Thayer is very expensive, with new businesses always zipping in and out, and Skewers has to compete with two very popular College Hill faces, Eastside Pockets and Bajas. It is too bad that I never see other Brown students here. The main server who seems to run the whole thing was so much nicer than the guys at Bajas(who had actually gotten annoyed and told me to hurry when I was taking like four seconds to decide from their big-ass menu. NOT okay) and had to open my Jarritos for me when I struggled hard, haha. The counter in front of the big glass window facing Thayer makes the place feel more airy and spacious, so it’s a good place to have a chat or just enjoy a quiet de-stressing lunch by yourself. I’m not even big into Mediterranean food, but please let this place stay!

Incredibly friendly and generous service! We were offered various samples of falafel and sauces. Grilled chicken salad was very fresh, generous portions, very impressed and satisfied.

Skewers is quick, tasty, and affordable! I grabbed a falafel wrap from them for lunch and was more than happy with it. For 6.99, I got a huge wrap with crisp and fluffy falafel and a ton of fresh veggies. I especially like their mediterranean salad filling, which has cucumbers, tomatoes, and herbs in a tangy sauce. My friend got a wrap with lamb and told me that it was quite delicious as well. They assemble your wrap Chipotle-style, and there are definitely a lot of fillings to choose from, including fries! I’m also a big fan of the store itself, which is comfortable, well-lit, and actually quite spacious, compared to some of the other stores on Thayer. This would be a great place to sit and chat with friends over lunch. The service is nice and friendly, and i literally got my wrap in my hand 3 minutes after walking into the shop. I’m surprised this place isn’t more popular! It’s a great grab & go place when you need a quick lunch and serves as a tasty alternative to East Side Pockets down the street. Definitely give it a try if you haven’t already!

Fresh Food Excellent Lebanese style kabob wraps. I tried a chicken wrap with the works, which had a cornucopia of flavors. The entrees are very large for a low price(~$ 8). I found the staff to very friendly as well. I am looking forward to trying some other items. Not a lot of comfortable seating, so best for those on the go. This place is definitely worth checking out. Tip: The item to try here is the Mujadara, Lebanese rice with lentils. Amazing dish. Thanks

Immediately after having their lamb wrap, I felt a soar throat, and now I’ve been lying in bed for 4 straight days, I suspect their food is not clean! I agree this is a very strong accusation, but will be never visiting this place again!

I got the Greek Salad with Chicken! Chicken is great! The salad is delicious. I got it with balsamic vinaigrette instead of Greek! It’s delicious with both. We had amazing service from the owner! He really takes care of you.

No way. Was just in town for a seminar and wanted a quick lunch. The falafel are shaped like small doughnuts and taste like they came out of a generic frozen food service package — they were beige inside, no color or flavor. I also got the feeling the owner is cheap — there was a sign saying«No Tap Water,» and when I ordered pita bread, he gave me less than half of a half(and it was dry and stale). I guess the upside is that you can get a lot of food for not so much money. But if the food isn’t good… I’m not sure it’s a bargain.

Great food at a great price! I ate here twice, once after dropping my daughter off at a summer program at Brown and once after picker her up. Salads are fresh, the staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting Providence.

It’s serviceable, but definitely have had better. I had a lamb wrap that was filled mostly with salad and eventually was a little unsettling in my stomach. I thought the lamb wasn’t particularly tasty or a significant enough portion of the meal, and, while it’s not terribly expensive, I’ve had better quality/value Mediterranean food. Probably wouldn’t return given the other options on Thayer Street.

Totally delicious. Usually when you order kabobs they give you ONE(seriously, twice in a month I’ve ordered a meal that had the plural of kabobS and ended up with just one and a plate of rice) — but not here! I got the international salad which comes with every kind of meat and it was SO huge and SO delicious. And like $ 9 bucks I think. Highly recommended especially if you’re on a low carb or Paleoish diet.

People are giving this place such bad reviews and I’m not sure why. First time eating here I was quite impressed. Portion sizes are good for the price, lots of things to sample. I ordered the lamb plate and there were only some minor critiques I have. Little more flavor on the lamb and spice to the dish More meat, less filler Thicker hummus Overall, for the price and quality, I would come back again. I wouldn’t say it’s a big threat to East Side Pocket(still my absolute favorite), but it’s fair competition.

Being a longtime business owner on Thayer St I always like to give every new establishment a fair shake. Tried Skewers the 1st week they were open and unfortunately nothing really had any semblance of flavor. Big portions of bland food just don’t do it for me. I returned a couple days ago to find that the portions were scaled back a bit, which is not saying they’re small, they’re adequate. The problem still lies with the lack of flavor/seasoning in the offerings I’ve tried(Chicken Kabob Wrap). Aside from a handful of spots on Thayer, this will be added to my ever growing list of mediocre food offerings for our lovely street.

I was really looking forward to trying Skewers, because I figured that any kabob place brave enough to open up blocks away from East Side Pockets must have killer food. Unfortunately, this seemed not to be the case. I had a chicken kabob wrap and it was almost completely flavorless, except for the two whole cloves of raw garlic chilling in my tabouleh! I grew up eating Lebanese food and I have never tasted such bland hummus. Like at a burrito place, you can really load up on the toppings here, but sadly there’s no hot sauce, which would have really helped with the flavor issue. Also, the pita was stale, which made biting into the wrap an even less pleasant undertaking. The one part of my order I did really enjoy was the fries – they’re the kind with a crispy batter coating(and you can add them to any wrap for $ 1). It’s clear that they’re trying – like Baja’s they’re constantly throwing meat on the griddle, and even my fries were made to order. But even fresh food needs to have flavor!

Ok — a kebab restaurant has to cook the kebabs fresh and take them from the flame to your table — preferably within nanoseconds. And a good grass fed non-commercial animal will have the best meat. Skewers has the kebabs precooked. But except for that it is pretty impressive. Huge servings — good meat — tons of veggie accompaniments. And everything is solid enough. For pre-made kebabs and working with U.S. standard meat, this place does a pretty good job. My table mates and I wandered out of there full and happy.

I’ve only eaten at Skewers once since it opened up last week, but I was satisfied with it so far. The menu includes dinner plates, wraps, and appetizers including grape leaves, fries, chicken wings, etc. I got a steak dinner plate which comes with rice, meat, pita bread, pita chips, and salad. The steak was tender and juicy and overall delicious. The portions are very generous and the food was delicious for an affordable price. I will definitely be coming back!
