Providence Community Acupuncture

Providence Community Acupuncture is a most welcome, affordable oasis of relaxation amidst the chaos. I feel better as soon as I walk in most times and always feel good walking out. the acupuncturists are friendly, knowledgeable, intuitive and gentle. I also really enjoy the community atmosphere where everyone in the room is quiet and relaxed. It has helped with pain, muscle tension and anxiety. all you have to do is breathe.

I love Providence Community Acupuncture! I was skeptical at first b/​c PCA isn’t traditional old school Chinese acupuncture. However, since my trusted acupuncture spots in NYC and Chicago are inconvenient to get to, I gave PCA a shot based on comments from an orthopedic surgeon who told me that many of his patients have reported good results from PCA.
A session at PCA is very different from the traditional acupuncture I’ve had in a lot of ways: communal group setting/​no privates, EZ-​Boy style reclining chairs rather than examination tables, English-​speaking, no discussion about yin/​yang diet or herbs (at least for me, some product is offered up front), et al. It’s a very different experience from the old Masters I’ve had elsewhere who would make alarming «jokes» like «no pain no gain» in broken English before sticking me with big ass needles (I love you tho Dr. H.!) but at the end of the day, the needles do the talking at PCA, and I’ve personally had good results.
There’s also a community health advocacy aspect to PCA since they aim to improve access to high quality healthcare for all and especially to those that may not be able to afford traditional acupuncture. Rates on a sliding scale are from $ 15 – 35 after an initial consult and are the lowest rates I have ever seen anywhere. Online booking is available for convenience, private lot and street parking is plentiful. It’s a clean, lofty space for a tranquil acupuncture treatment – so tranquil you shouldn’t be surprised when your neighbors are so relaxed that they start snoring. Love it, check it out.

Most awesome place. You can relax with the pins as long as you need. Other people are in the room and it is quiet. Sliding scale is very reasonable and the staff is excellent. They put the pins in the same places other acupuncturists did.

This place is life-​changing. I cannot recommend it enough. Relaxing does not even begin to describe the peace and contentment of visiting PCA.
Treat yourself to an appointment during a busy work week. The staff is supremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They greet you by name, and are always aware of your treatment and what you’re working on. It’s also very easy to make/​change an appointment. The online system is very convenient whether you’re booking in advance or day of.
And, you simply cannot beat the price structure. I joined POCA last year. It was absolutely worth the benefits! Check them out in their super new amazing location!!!

I just had my second appointment here today and wanted to wait until this appointment in order to review.
My first time here I didn’t have an appointment and just happened upon the place and walked in. The receptionist is absolutely amazing I was very accommodating. She made me feel so comfortable and not like I was a burden to them by walking in without an appointment. She was funny and knowledgeable and put me right at ease. The paperwork is pretty easy to fill out and before you know it I was seeing my acupuncturist and told her about my problem areas. The initial fee is $ 10 for new people anywhere from $ 15 to $ 35 for the treatment depending on what you can afford. This place is amazing after my first treatment I went three days pain-​free.
Fast forward to today, the receptionist remembered my name and remembered my issues that goes along way. I had the same acupuncturists I had last time and she was just as pleasant. There’s no rush in or out you can stay as long as you like or short as you like as long as it is at least 45 minutes. I fell asleep today and woke up an hour and a half later! I hope I wasn’t snoring… LOL! I would not hesitate to recommend this place.
