I actually see the other doctor in this practice, Dr Anne Bercovitch, and I love her. She’s thorough, she’s kind and she is very, very practical — all the things you want when a doctor is assessing your skin and making sure you don’t have things like, say, melanoma. I first started seeing Dr B a few years ago for a lovely bout of «Now that you’re 30, you’ll have acne!» She cleared it up, told me not to worry, and I have been loyal to her ever since. Even when my insurance changed and her practice didn’t take it, I was crushed. As soon as I could switch back, I was in her exam room. She’s that wonderful. Last June, it turned out one of my little freckles was something to be worried about. Dr B and her staff took excellent care of me – quick action, thorough treatment and a very, very gentle demeanor. I’m back in her office every six months now, and I can’t say that I mind one bit as I know I am getting the best care possible. Her support staff are especially wonderful — so different from the usual cranky, impatient and cold doctor’s assistants that you have to deal with. These women are personable, motherly and sweet. They know how to take care of you, especially when you need it. My one tip is to get an appointment early in the day, as things tend to run later and later as the day goes on. I once waited almost two hours for an afternoon appointment, but never run into this problem when I get there before 10am.
