This salon is so amazing! The entire staff is so friendly and professional. I have gotten every service imaginable at Femme Fatale from hair, color, makeup, styling, nails, waxing, and facials and they never disappoint! Love this place!

Go see Jane here! She is amazing. Every time I come in, she brings me down to her lair (also known as her chair, which is in a private room) and fixes me up to look like some sort of retro bombshell. This usually involves a little volume in the hair, a little trim, colour, and a bit of make-​up (Jane also does make-​up at the salon, particularly for weddings and headshots).
One thing I love about Jane is that she never tries to sell me more hair products — this drives me insane when I go to other salons because I already have about five times the hair products I need and I like to think my hair, particularly in its short state, doesn’t need much.
Also, she’s an excellent conversationalist… if she were a talk show host, I’d put her somewhere in-​between Oprah and Ricki Lake. I usually go in a little stressed and leave feeling relaxed, with just the right dose of reality check.
Although I don’t go in specifically for make-​up, I recommend getting it done here because Jane is really good at a dewy, natural look. She knows exactly how to bring out facial features and the colour in your eyes/​lips.
Oh, and as far as pricing goes, I’d say it’s pretty fair compared to other places in the area despite being much nicer. All over colour and a tiny bit of a trim usually puts me at fifty even.

Sarah is the best hairdresser I have ever been to. I get my hair cut and colored by her and she always does a phenomenal job. There are even times when I will walk in and tell her to just do something with my hair and it turns out better than I could have hoped. Not only that but the salon is always prompt about responding to phone calls and they always call to remind you about the appointment. Fantastic salon, fantastic hairdressers!

Sarah Taylor is the absolute best stylist and colorist! She really listens to what I want and offers suggestions to finding the perfect look. Sarah transformed my hair from ordinary to fabulous; I get so many compliments now! Thank you Sarah!!!

This salon is very responsive, and actually calls you back when they tell you they will, which in today’s day and age, is rare and underrated. That’s always a plus, but the REAL plus is the one and only hairstyling genius, Michael DiQuinzio. I would (and have) gone to Providence just so he can give me a trim… he’s THAT good.
I’ve been seeing Michael since he was at the Aveda salon on Thayer Street (R.I.P.), and he’s been nothing short of spectacular. The magic he can create with coiffure is beyond words. He gave me my first REALLY short cut/​angled bob, and it was a hit. I got it done before my best friend’s wedding in ’09, and people STILL rave about it. He’s touched up my highlights, he’s given me a beautiful updo (with aforementioned short hair – I told you he’s got incomparable skills!), and he always gives the best advice. A friend and stylist in one… you can’t really ask for more.
Most recently, I asked him to give me a trim and once again, he knocked it out of the ballpark. He started with a mini shoulder massage a la Aveda spas, and washed my hair with Oribe shampoo and conditioner, and a few expert snips and spritzes of dry texturizing spray later, my hair had transformed into this incredibly voluminous, amazingly shiny, beautifully layered masterpiece. Even days afterwards, people came up to me and said, «Wow, your hair looks REALLY good.» I tell them, oh, yeah, it’s all the Magic of Michael.
Definitely get yourself down to Wayland Square if/​when you can… it’ll be a treat for your tresses, I guarantee it!

Michael DiQuinzio is an artist who knows my hair better than I do! In addition to a fabulous haircut, i also get an enlightening and hilarious conversation everytime! LOVE
