As much as I like The Avery and Ogie’s — as far as easy to walk to bars in the West End of Providence go – E&O is the best. Great atmosphere. Great drinks. Great people.

My favorite thing about this place? The men hanging around outside. Hubba hubba! Seriously, this is a kickass little bar with good stuff on draft, a fun outdoor space and a cool staff. Mosey on down here while you’re waiting for your table at North.

Didn’t even make it in the door. As a young 20-something I found this place to be terrifying and there were men hanging around outside the night I planned to go here. May be a good place for locals and older adults but not a good 20s bar scene.

Ah, E&O. It’s the local watering hole where lots of people who live in and around the area(like myself) go to grab a beer. Reasons I like E&O: 1.) Solid craft beer selection that rotates frequently and keeps up with seasonal offerings. 2.) Bartenders are quick to get drinks, even when it gets busy. 3.) There is a pinball machine. Pinball after several drinks is second to none. 4.) Utz party mix. Even if you don’t order pizza to the bar(that’s a thing too), you can just chow down on it. One of my favorite local drinking spots, for sure.

A small tavern can definitely be comfy and most of my favorite bars are on the smaller side but I actually have to say this bar is uncomfortably small. This could seem a little rude but my huge complaint here, odd as it is, is that the moment you walk into this bar you have succumbed to a thick cloud of B.O. I’ve never had this issue come up at other small bars, even The Scurvy Dog(which I think is windowless for the most part?) smells better than this place. I don’t know what it is, I’ll assume the maintenance and cleanliness is an issue. It’s dark, who knows. The drinks are okay and I actually love that they have a few arcade games in the corner. Not an overall bad dive bar — it’s in a good location and pretty cheap too, just that smell keeps me away.

I would have given it four stars, but I went there because I googled«shuffleboard bowling machine,» and E & O was listed as having one. That aside, if it wants to be a dive, charging $ 27 for two shots and two draughts is a bit steep. No wonder the regulars stick to canned Coors light. But the beer was frosty, the crowd was nice, the music great, and the bartender friendly. I’ll go back. At least the pinball machine is cheap.

Went back after a long absence and it has gotten better and worse at the same time. The crowd was much better in that it was more diverse. No longer just hipster RISD kids giving folks they do not know dirty looks. And the bartender was awesome. Friendly and prompt and offered up a number of beer samples since I was not sure which beer I wanted. But sadly, both beers I got were totally flat. Something must be seriously wrong with their co2 system(I took a look around and everyone’s beers had the same issue). And even worse, both beers had the telltale sign of dirty draft lines. A good beer bar has to clean out its draft lines fairly often or you get buildup in them that adds an unpleasant aftertaste to the beer(due to the alcohol in beer it would never make you sick, but is still best avoided). So they are halfway there now that they got nicer bartenders and the crowd is friendlier. Here’s hoping they can get their draft system working better.

Okay, Unilocal.Let’s talk bars. When I move into a new neighborhood, one of my qualifying factors is having a bar within stumbling distance of my new home. Fortunately, the West End has what I like to call the Bermuda Triangle of bars: Avery, North, and my personal favorite, E&O. Moving around the corner from E&O was both the best and worst idea. Unlike the other two spots, you won’t find fancy cocktails or killer food — but what you will find is an awesome crowd of regulars, great beer selection, and Bruins games projected on the wall every time there’s a match. In warm weather, the back area is pretty hoppin’ and Chef Michael of Julian’s yore runs a killer BBQ lunch that I will go out of my way for. Through-out the year, you can find Poco Loco serving up delicious tacos on Mondays and Wednesdays. There’s also an assortment of games now that they’ve ditched the pool tables — I am a huge fan of drunkenly playing Big Buck Hunter before rolling directly down the street to my apartment again, singing the praises of my wild safaris hunting deer and turkeys. I’m shocked my fiancée still speaks to me sometimes.

This is a great little dive bar right around the corner from the Avery and North. The drinks are cheap, the environment is great, and they have a pool table! What more could you ask for? Also, Tuesday night they have an awesome DJ that spins 90’s hip hop! My kinda place!

Call me a snob, but E&O is just not my cup of tea. Don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate a good dive bar, but I still expect the place to make a good drink, and to accommodate the customer. I’ve been to E&O a few times now, and it’s always tough for me to find something to order seeing as they have no gluten-free beer options, no ciders, and the bartenders don’t seem too excited about making cocktails. Perhaps it is because I was«that girl» asking if they had grapefruit flavored soda, but it was warm out and I was looking for something light! The other thing that really bothers me about E&O is that it just seems pretty dirty. There is a distinct odor to the bar, and the bathrooms are not exactly clean and tidy. However, I do appreciate that this place has its own brand and flavor, and that it’s different from so many of the swanky specialty cocktail spots in PVD(although I love them). If you go to E&O, just know that it’s a place to go for a beer or a shot of liquor, maybe to watch a game on the TV, and perhaps even some good people-watching.

A Real Dive Bar The E&O is one of the best dive bars in Rhody. Darkly lit, cheap beers to more expensive craft options. Plenty of TV’s and a super friendly staff. This is one of those bars that is located within a neighborhood, they are rare to find these days. A tip is to go on Saturday or Sunday early afternoon, they do a little BBQ there cheap. Thanks

So this may be my new favorite bar in Providence. I had no idea it even existed before last week(and I keep asking myself how I’d never heard of it before) and when I walked in it was love at first sight. I love the feel of the place with it’s laid back vibe and random décor strewn about. The drinks are cheap, the bartenders are awesome, and I overheard a rumor that they play Game of Thrones episodes on a projection screen, umm YES!!! The location isn’t the best and it’s a little hard to find(we actually walked past it) since it’s on a side street off of Broadway in a residential neighborhood. It’s close by to the Avery, which is nice if you want to hit a few places in one night. I also like that it’s open virtually anytime. We wanted an afternoon cocktail and when we realized other bars were closed my friend suggested E&O, and, of course, they were open on a Sunday at 3PM. I can’t wait to go back!

some times I’d like to go to E&O: 1. Earlyish, like 4pm-ish when most people are still at work but salty people who suffer from or will have liver disease frequent the place. I like the conversation and learned useful stuff like proper welding technique. 2. When I need quality non-bf time. He doesn’t like perceived hipsters and thus he avoids the place like the plague. 3. When I want Cheetos-like snacks but don’t feel like buying them myself. 4. Fake emergencies. E&O seems to always be open when there is too much snow or a false fire alarm at Grant Mill(again). 5. Sundays. Game of Thrones. 6. Late-ish. It’s the nearest, most convenient watering hole for a decent, relatively inexpensive selection of craft beer. I like this place. It fills a niche.

I don’t how I ever didn’t know about this bar?! Brought by friends who asked if I minded something«divey»? Great, laid back vibe. Super friendly bar tender who may not have been the best with beer suggestions, but he made up for it in charm. I can see heading here after a stuffy holiday event to unwind and have fun.

E&O which you may not know stands for Eric’s Orgasm. It’s a great widdle dive bar on the \\//\\//est Side. With everything you’d want a dive bar to be. And it’s actually not that little once you get inside. Its a cool place. Sometime I’m on Atwells drinking italian swill and knocking someones teeth out for protection money, when I suddenly want to be a biker and meet some cool tatted up people. So I strip my track suit, throw on my leathers and take my motorcycle over to the E&O. Wednesday is ladies night, half priced drinks for the gentler sex. And the ol food truck parks across the street too. You get a great chalkboard draft list of the beverages available, and the owners will let you pick songs on the ipod if you are tipsy and shouting requests like a mad man/woman. There is a back yard area if you smoke or just want some fresh air… filled with smoke from other people.smoking. I can’t remember exactly what it looks like out there, but i’m picturing kind of a chic junkyard with a couch that sits out in the weather year round, or something. This place is fun, check it out, you’ll probably meet someone you know or want to know.

I have been coming for years. Great rotating list of beers. I know some people have mentioned that the bartenders scoff at cocktails, but I have never had that experience. Mike makes me lovely margaritas and one of the women that works over the weekend actually brings in fresh herbs for special drinks. Plus you can smoke out back and they air GOT.

Amazing place for people watching, pinball, and fun thursday nights with the gentlemen sound system. Drinks are well poured, though the bartenders need to coordinate their checking of ids. The last time I went the female bartender was supposed to be in charge of checking ids when people approached the bar, she ignored me leaving mike to take my order then he handed me my drink and suddenly asked if my id had been checked, wouldn’t it be too late by then as I have my ‘gansett in hand?
