This is a great little bistro to grab a drink and something to eat. They have a comfortable bar with great service that you can also order dinner at. My only complaint would be that they only have 2 beers on tap. A few more taps would have warranted a perfect review!

Lucky to have the Broadway Bistro in the neighborhood — LOVE the ribs ‘n grits, last time there they DIDN’T have the scallops but anything & everything you get here from the well-varied beer /wine selection to the service to the finishing touch of the chocolate truffle is top notch. Definitely worth the trip. menu varies daily, weekly & seasonally but you can’t go wrong here: basically set up with small plates, entrees and specials which are creative and always well-done –D

This very unassuming bistro serves up some very interesting dishes and great cocktails. The chicken tacos were amazing as were the fried oysters. The dinner special has a chicken roulade and it was no disappointment either. Put this place on your short list!

Came here on a first date on 2÷18÷14. We come back every year and occasionally just because. The food is fabulous. The décor is intimate. The menus are always seasonally fresh. The staff are polite and well oriented with the menu. We had to order the deviled eggs! We had two entrees to share, Hanger steak with lemon polenta. I decided to have the pork loin with mashed potatoes and chutney. We also decide to splurge for lemon cake, with brown butter ice cream.

After reading so many rave reviews about this place, I decided that it was about time to give this place a shot. I’m not a fanatic for local ingredients, farm to table, etc, but I do appreciate good food and creative culinary designs. My fiancée and I came around 6:30 and were fortunate to find a place to sit without any delays; our waitress was professional, but could have smiled a tad more… On to the food, we shared the ribs and grits, deviled eggs, sweetbread, the fettuccine and chicken tacos. To be honest, I was not blown away by any of the dishes and thought the prices may have been over-inflated for the amount that were served. My fiancée did enjoy the fettuccine a great deal, but she did have a craving for noodles that night, so I’m not sure how objective her decisions were. The ribs and grits were good, but I would have preferred a larger and less saltier portion size. The chicken tacos were also quite tasty, but disappeared quickly after two bites. Overall, I think our seasonal menu may not have included all of the stuff that made this place a hit for many of the Unilocalers, but I did have a good time and may consider returning when the menus change again. Food: 3 stars Price: 3 stars Service: 3 stars

Broadway Bistro is such an underrated Providence restaurant. The plates are thoughtful and complex. Fine dining food in a relaxed bistro atmosphere. I’ve eaten here many times over the years and I’m always impressed and satisfied. Service is good. Ambiance is edgy.

I’ve been here a few times so far for dinner and I’m pleased to say that every single time has been great. It’s a small space, but you shouldn’t have any trouble getting in as long as you come before 6:30 or so on the weekends(never had a problem during the week). Service is great too; friendly and attentive. I’m really a fan of their wine list. There’s nothing extravagant, but all of the wines are reasonably priced and good picks. On to food, everything has been nothing short of amazing. The menu changes very frequently based on ingredient availability/seasonality, so the menu online should really be taken with a grain of salt. That said, whatever you pick is going to be great! Risotto is a big standout, as are the ribs and grits if that’s your sort of thing. Overall, a great experience and a go-to of mine in the neighborhood for a cozy dinner.

3.5 stars for a decent dinner in a small, local setting. Came on a Sunday night without any reservation which wasn’t needed. Parking was around the corner on the street. The restaurant was dimly lit, nice for a romantic date. The room was small and I can see how this restaurant fills quickly. Service was timely. 1. Salad — Decent, nothing special. Not too big or small. 2. Trout — Just the right size to split for 2 people. It was fresh tasting with no fishy odor. The sauce was the right hint of salty and sweet. We weren’t too hungry and just wanted a taste of it. The server kept pushing us to order more but we declined. For dessert, we were already full but they gave us good quality truffles before we left. Overall, I’d try other places around Providence next time but this is a solid place for a date or a dinner just to go out.

First time at Broadway Bistro. Lived up to what I had heard about this cool vibe restaurant on Broadway in Providence. My husband had the Pork Loin with Polenta and he loved it. I had pasta bolognese that may have been the best bolognese I’ve ever had. Fresh ingredients, flavorful, not overdone with the sauce, it was great. Loved the casual vibe of this place and the food couldn’t have been better.

Love this place. I have been going for years, but haven’t been in a while. Brought a friend to dinner last night, and was satisfied as usual. We shared some apps: macaroni and cheese, Brussels sprouts, and duck rillette. We shared some dinner: hangar steak over risotto, and monkfish over polenta with cabbage. Everything was delicious. Nice size portions and well-seasoned. Great service, and atmosphere. My favorite.

Let’s talk about the food… Ribs & grits — creamy grits & luscious ribs. Soft meat that melts in your mouth yet a nice crunch on the outside. And that light gravy hits the spot. A touch of soy sauce with a tint of sweetness, oh my! The arugula salad was so good. Leafy arugula tossed in a light vinaigrette & then mixed w/slices of toasted nuts & fresh mozzarella. Plus to be surrounded by fresh slices of peaches, yum! I’m not gonna lie, not everything was on point. I was a bit disappointed in the lemon herb crusted chicken. The quinoa was amazing — light in flavor yet refreshing because of the nice mix of zucchini & corn but the chicken was a tad too dry for my taste. The vermicelli dish did make up for the chicken — it was outstanding. Soft noodle strands blending well w/the sauce. Light Asian flavor yet you get a nice American touch w/the fried oysters. And to top it all off w/dessert? The ricotta cheesecake was surprisingly amazinggg! Soft subtle cheesecake filling w/a nice contrast of pistachio graham cracker crust. And w/a touch of lemon jelly & watermelon sorbet?!? Holla at that!!! Staff is also really nice. I loved the recs made by our waitress :)

New Favorite Providence has many great restaurants and BB certainly is top tier worthy. Portions are more than generous and the prices are too good to believe. Feel free to spend 3x as much at Al Forno for snobby service(why does Pizza and pasta cost so much?), but come to Broadway for better quality & more interesting choices. The go to appetizer is always the ribs n’ grits, salads are more than sharable and always include something memorable– eg: fried artichokes, toasted pine nuts, fresh beets. Seems that every week there is something new on menu– shrimp cerviche w/smashed plantains. We love the bread(from 7stars– w/great seasoned evoo). Have never ever ever had anything but a great meal here. We often pick entrée based on the accompanying sides, swordfish is definitely fresh– perfectly seasoned. Tip: They serve Miller High Life stubby beers for a $ 1.50 Special thanks to the bartender Marla for being so friendly and making us feel like we’ve been coming in for years. Thanks

I have been trying a different restaurant in my neighborhood every week. I did not realize what I was missing by not going to this restaurant. I have to say so far this is my favorite of what we Havel tried so far. The atmosphere is intimate without feeling cramped. The food is superb. Everything is fresh and creative. My husband had his favorite, pork shank and I had a salad with squid risotto. Everything was yummy. The portions are just the right size. Service is friendly but not overbearing. Prices are reasonable. I can’t wait to go back.

I’ve been waiting for weeks to come and I was not disappointed, maybe a tad bit let down but certainly not because of the food. No name visible when you arrive. They occupy a couple of store fronts on Broadway. A walk in and we had to wait 15 to 20 for a 3 top, not a problem. Got seated and the waitress just wasn’t engaging like you’d expect a waitress to be. I notice other reviewers mentioned«service» and called it the only issue they had. I must have shared their waitress. I think it’s just her, I don’t know, maybe she was pissed at me for some reason. Wing special, really good start to the night. The trout special with substituted risotto was outstanding although she left off the spinach even after she asked if I wanted it. Son’s chicken roulade was devoured before I could even steal a second bite from him. My wife’s house salad was a meal in and of itself along with the short ribs and grits were excellent. The one dessert was a flourless chocolate cake with ice cream with three spoons. A nice finish to the night as well as a couple of cappuccinos. If you want to increase the sales totals, then tell your patrons you have the dessert special AND tell them about cappuccinos because we weren’t offered any, just saw one being delivered to another patron. I’ll return. I think the reason I’m having more 4 and 5 star ratings isn’t because I’m soft on stars but because Unilocal allows me to hit places that I love before I step foot in the place. This is one example.

The wife had wanted to try this place for a while now. We finally went last night and I don’t know why we waited so long. The service and entire meal was great. We had the crispy cauliflower as an appetizer. While I’m not a real fan of cauliflower, this appetizer was really tasty. For main course I had the braised short rib and butternut squash crêpe. Honestly, the short rib was cooked perfectly, but I could have just had the butternut squash crêpe as a meal. It was terrific. Will definitely return.

I seriously can’t say enough how much I enjoy every single meal I have here. I always order at least one appetizer or salad and an entrée and tend to share with whomever I am dining with. While I usually can resist stabbing my fellow diner’s hand with my fork, there are times I’m unsure I will be able to control the urge to grab our plate of shared deliciousness and keep it all to myself. The best part about Broadway Bistro, very obviously aside from the food, is the service. Always with a smile, always so accommodating, always so genuinely glad to see you. Tack that on to the impressively inexpensive prices and they have found a fan in me for life. Sidebar: I have a ridiculously picky family of eaters — my father is meat and potatoes, hold all the flavor please, and my mom is just straight up critical. Always. Regardless, after scouring the options for places to take them we decided on Broadway Bistro and there was not a single complaint nor a single bite left on either of their plates. I consider that to be a phenomenal win and sincerely thank the chef.

I have been here 3 times and this is honestly my favorite place is Providence. I have gotten duck, seafood, steak. all created to perfection. Even their oil they serve the bread with has something special in it that makes me grab for more. One thing that was not so good is when they had this special tomato dessert with crème brûlée… I don’t think they got the flavors right. One of the servers can have a little bit of a «tude» but as long as you do not get her your meal with be perfection.

It was my first time at Broadway Bistro, and I really dig it! Our server(LeAnne?) was friendly and took care of all of our needs before asking. For instance, I was 100% parched, so she brought over a carafe of water, and kept refilling it before I started to panic. And she just had great enthusiasm for our meal, which – as a food lover – I really appreciate. Other notable things: We walked in on Friday night and were immediately seated, even without reservations. The Malbec made quite an impression on said parched people. We were able to see inside the kitchen. Not that we were spying on them, but I was tempted to give the chefs a high five after the meal. The food is fantastic. When I moved to RI, I was on a quest to find the best bolognese, and even though that was a year ago, I think this one tops the charts. So, the high fives were deserved. I’d definitely go back!

One block from home, and always a great experience. The interior is spacious yet intimate. The food is consistently delicious and a good value. The bartenders are professionals and the wait staff does their job perfectly. Consider splitting the pea green salad and getting an entre each. It’ll give you plenty to take home for tomorrow’s leftovers. Yumminess twice over!
