Wonderful food — great basics and gourmet options, all prepared and presented with care and warmth. Plus gelato, brews, wine, fun coffee options!

The BLT here is fantastic. I get it with mayo cheddar cheese and extra bacon. On the way out I get a single scoop of double chocolate Gelato.

I absolutely love this place. I just started working in Providence and was exploring for a spot to go when I don’t pack a lunch. The food is delicious, and the staff members are so nice. I’m very sad it’s closed for the season. I highly recommend this place.

Really cozy and sooo close to the hospital! I would have definitely given this place a higher review if they were still serving icecream during our business meeting, although I still give them super high props for keeping the store open just for our event, even though they were closed last week! So, for now, this is an incomplete review on a really neat looking establishment that serves both icecream, paninis and booze! I think the location is spot on, and the liquor is actually decently priced, a Johnny Walker Black was only around $ 5, and the beers was around $ 3. The icecream still remains to be evaluated, but the oatmeal raisin cookies were soft and definitely reminded me there was ample amount of butter to make up for the softness.

So I had been working at Women and Infants and Rhode Island Hospital for almost a year, walked past this place not thinking much of it until just very recently. Situated just off to the side of the Women and Infant’s parking lot, this lonely structure is an unassuming little coffee shop which is, well, a little more than just that. I have found my self many times craving a little ice cream after work. You know what I mean after working in the hospital for a 12 + hour shift. Well, I was in luck when I realized this place has home made gelato! They have about a dozen or so different flavors that are delicious! They also have a bunch of baked goods, lunch/dinner foods, wine and a nice little area where you can sit yourself down. Next time when your day ends on a not so bright note or if you are coming off work wearing happiness on your face, come and pick up a little something here!

I have eaten the cranberry walnut chicken salad on wheat, which is consistently delicious – the chicken salad base is well made with solid chunks of white meat, and the mix of cranberry and walnut provide a mix of tart and sweet that light up the whole mix. I also had the banana chocolate chip gelato, which is just as good as it sounds. They serve local bottled sodas(sarsaparilla and many other flavors), and have locally roasted coffee, which is an order of magnitude better than anything in either of the adjacent hospitals. On top of all that, they have a dining area with big windows and blond-wood floors that’s perfect at lunchtime, and outdoor seating for sunny days. The servers I’ve had have been knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

Good strong coffee & friendly helpful staff make this a lovely little stopping point if you have to go to do un pleasant things at the hospital. despite getting a breakfast sandwich on multi grain still was rather bland. I wanted to add lots of something else. large coffee, egg and cheese on a multi grain roll — worth 5 bucks. probably worth a try for lunch I will give it a go.

With all the great reviews, my co-worker and I gave this place a try. It figures we go on the day a new person was working. We get there at 11:40 am, before the lunch rush(only two people sitting at a table) and order food to go. My co-worker ordered two different salads and soup. First she was told they were out of the soup and they only had another kind then after a few minutes they say they don’t have enough of that soup, but they did make more of the original one she asked for. Then I get waited on by the new person. He didn’t seem to know how to work the register and when I gave him my debit card he couldn’t get it to swipe. He punches the numbers in and then loudly asks me if the numbers on the back are such and such. Next thing I know, 20 minutes go by and the place has a line to the door. My co-worker finally gets one salad and she asked where the other salad was and proceeds to get the wrong salad handed to her. She tells the new person he made a mistake and then he gives her the right salad. Five more minutes, I finally get my sandwich. I peek inside the wrapper to see if it was right. I ordered a turkey panini which is supposed to have melted swiss cheese and bacon. I see cheese and what appeared to be something similar in color to bacon peeking out of the side of the bread. I should have physically taken the sandwich out of the wrapper before I left the place, but considering how late we were getting back to work already, it wasn’t worth the time or to even get back in line to get it rectified if it was wrong. I get back to the office and discover I was given a prosciutto & mozzarella cheese sandwich.

This place is really very cute and charming. Absolutely picturesque. It is in the middle of a bunch of parking lots on the hospital campus, and serves as the perfect alternative to the other bland eating options(the hospital café, au bon pain or subway). The décor is beautiful… making you forget you are in a parking lot and feel as if you are in the Italian country side. There also are tables for you to sit outside. I’ve now been here twice and both times the service was impeccable. The meals came out extremely fast and are reasonably inexpensive. You can choose fresh kettle corn among the chips. thats a major plus! One peculiar thing is that it has more options of booze(wine/beer) then it does soft drinks. Now I know people probably come here at happy hour(or late night… it’s open til 1:00am for the third shifters!) but for hospital employees on a lunch break… their definitely needs to be more soft drink options since you can’t quite go back to the hospital after a «loose lunch». I tried the«yacht club orange soda» and it tasted like plain soda water with an orange in it. it did not meet my expectations. The menu here is mouth watering. with many of the sandwich descriptions sounding unique and delicious. I have tried their fresco panini and their grilled cheese. Both were mediocre. and really soggy. I was pretty disappointed. Other than the soggyness the panini was very good with fresh basil and pesto. but the tomatoes looked old and had lost their color. I was not super impressed. The second time i went, I got the gelato. I tried the Nutella which was creamy, cold and rich in flavor. Because this is the best option on campus, I will come back and try some more sandwiches… and definitely their gelato. But right now they are 2⁄2 for the soggy sandwich factor.

Mon night 6⁄17 with a Groupon… I imagine parking could be a challenge during the day, but it does have quite the customer base from the Hospital! This place would be PACKED all the time up on the East Side or anywhere in the city… luckily I found street parking as it was late, about 8PM… great recommendations from server(sorry forgot her name!), great food, great prices… Basil Pesto Chx Salad was the bomb, Italian Grinder was stuffed, Gelato: peach & blood orange could have had a stronger flavor, cappuccino was fantastic, my friend had pistachio and one other flavor and loved them both… we’ll be back!

stopped by after a particularly unpleasant night shift at RIH for some comfort cupcakes. the proprietor gave me 3 for free, saying that were a day old and she was going to throw them out – delicious! she also encouraged me to try some gelato samples and i ended up buying a few different flavors, all of which were creamy and light as gelato should be and surprisingly among the best i’ve tried in New England. prices were great. the location doesn’t have a ton of parking which means Amore probably only sees Women and Infants or Rhode Island Hospital employees –a shame since they could hold their own anywhere in the city. they have extended hours now, 7am-9pm M-F, 9 – 9 Sat, 9 – 5 Sun.

Good food, very friendly service. The lady that greeted us makes the food herself, including the gelato. So far the goat cheese salad I had was very flavorful and well dressed as was the prosciutto, basil and mozzarella sandwich I tried. They have a lot of drink options like Yacht Club sodas, alcoholc beverages, and a full coffee menu. It was a nice touch that they have a mini refrigerator to keep the half-and-half, cream and milk for the coffee fresh. The pricing is relatively inexpensive($ 5-$ 6 for a salad, around $ 5 for sandwiches). These guys deserve a chance, I wish them well and look forward to trying out more of the menu.
