New Kent County Rest Area – Westbound

For a rest stop, pretty clean. The restroom was as clean as can be expected. The surrounding area was clean as well. The vending machines were pretty well stocked and a good selection.

Nice building that is easy with great access ramps off and back onto the Interstate. Not much for services — clean bathrooms and vending machines — but if you’re looking for a quiet place to get a stretch then you won’t do better than this. Especially after two hours of slow two lane traffic up from Norfolk. Yuck.
How do I write a review of I-​64?

Always clean and friendly staff, perfect spot to stop. Brochures are always stocked. Love the way they interact with kids, ask lots of question about our destination and offer advice, in a friendly not pushy way.

Why would I review an interstate rest area? Because this one deserves a mention!
The one is more than a bathroom break — It is designed to benefit the travelers that are heading towards the Williamsburg & Hampton Roads areas of VA. I was impressed that they had several large screens with current road conditions.
The restrooms have been designed with water saving fixtures. Thought everything was clean and without a public restroom odor.
The vending area was neat and clean. Lots of hotel and travel information and discounts were available.
Nice touches included a recharge station for laptops and phones, and large letters spelling out LOVE (part of the infamous Virginia is for lovers ad campaign) that guests can be photographed with.

Always clean.
Tons of tourist flyers if you are looking for stuff to do in the area.

This is a Great Rest Area.
It’s clean.
It’s a quick in and quick.
It has Electric Recharging for the Eco Friendly Vehicles.
Don’t bother with machines.

This is a great rest area. It’s the only rest area between Virginia Beach and Richmond. The building is very modern and is well maintained. The restrooms are very clean. There’s also an area for pets to go the restroom as well. Inside the building, they also have a good selection of attraction brochures, as well as a brochure on the roadwork in Virginia as well.
All in all, this is a great rest area. It’s worth stopping even if it’s just to get out of the car and stretch your legs.
