Cold food that should have been served hot, skimpy servings, overpriced. Frozen tv dinners are better cooked, higher quality, & tastier. Ambience bad — tv and music simultaneously loud and competing.

Food has never been short of excellent. Great staff, but don’t go there without ordering an appetizer — entrees take a while to cook. Live music is way too loud, though. Only complaint.

The food at Bistro 42 is what I call bar food prepare on an average scale with little to no effort(only because it was pulled from a box). I had the pita pizza and I enjoyed having pizza without all the bread that comes with having it. The pita is very thin and light which is nice. My hubby had the ribs which I tasted. For me the ribs were prepared on another day other than today, a tad dry and chewy! Always remember that lots of restaurants are closed or slow on Monday’s so Monday’a are a day you may have to skip eating out unless the place is bustling with patrons.

A casual, warm atmosphere greets you in this oasis in the Kroger shopping center. Clearly a family-owned and operated business, the staff went out of their way to make everybody who walked through the door feel welcome. We got shown to our table immediately and had drink orders in before our butts hit the chair. Our waitress then brought out the drinks and reviewed the menu items with us. J got the spaghetti and meatballs and I opted for the fish and chips. The spaghetti was drenched in sauce, per J’s request, and the meatballs were huge. My fish and chips were standard pub fare, but with a little extra grease. We left before the live music started, but this seems to be a draw as the place was filling fast. We both commented that we’d like to come back to hear the music another day.

Food was ok. Ordered blackened chicken got boiled. Service was very slow and I had to remind them about things we ordered and didn’t get. They were out of 2 things on the menu. Not a great dinner. I have been here in the past and it was better. Not great but better.

A wonderful little venue. The spaghetti and meatballs with meat sauce are delicious! The karaōke on Wednesdays is lots of fun! Great singers and not a super long wait to sing. The live entertainment on the weekend is spectacular! 5 stars! A definite spot to check out!

I love this place. Has a great vibe, beer selection is impeccable and the staff couldn’t be more friendly. The pita cheeses are good if you want something lighter, or go for the pot roast sandwich. I took half of it home and made it an official member of the family. Now it sleeps between me and my wife. Good times… Have good bands on weekend evenings. Don’t listen to the chumps with negative reviews.

We had to detour through here on our drive North, and it was dinner time, so we stopped in. We like to eat in local spots instead of the big chains as often as we can, and that isn’t always easy with 2 little ones. Honestly, the promise of a good kid’s menu from other reviews is what brought us in. The atmosphere was great — kid friendly without being too bright or loud. The service was fast and very friendly. Honey got the lasagna and loved it, and he’s picky about his Italian comfort food. I got the fried chicken special, and it was very good, it gave mine a run for it’s money. Kids split the spaghetti and meatballs, and it was more than enough for them, with about half of mom’s mashed potatoes and green beans, of course.

One of my favorite restaurants in the Louisville area. Vinnie is easily one of the best waiters I’ve ever had at any restaurant. The restaurant is family owned. Vinnie and his brother manage the front while the mother does all the cooking. My understanding is that nearly everything is homemade. Not sure what the other reviews here are talking about with regards to the food seeming microwaved, etc. The food has always be amazing every time I’ve been, which has been quite often. The buffalo chicken is fantastic as well are the cannolis. The bar has many different choices as well as Woodchuck on tap(if you’re a cider fan), which isn’t all that common.

The food is usually pretty good, but last night we were very disappointed in the Stromboli. The bar service was horrendous. We waited over a half hour with empty glasses and we were sitting at the bar!

I have to admit that I’ve only had the eggplant parmesan both times I’ve been there but it’s been great. It’s always packed, always a good crowd, and frequently they have bands on weekends.

Finally a place to call home in prospect. We go every thurs and sit in vinnie’s section. He knows what we want and has our app and kids meal out in no time. Food is always dependable. And they have stepped up their beer and wine selection. Owners are nice and always greet us. Friday nights have become quite popular also, and we end up with the last drink here. Nothing hooty tooty, just tasty comfort, italian food. And their buffalo wings are pretty amazing also

Been here a few times and it is decent. This past week was offered the Mamas meatloaf” special. The meatloaf and green beans were very tasty, but they BLEW it with very poor powered mashed potatoes. If it is too much to do something right, just omit it from the menu. Will be back, but never the potatoes.

have been here several times now with wife and friends. Never had a bad meal. The manicotti with meatballs is amazing. They food always comes out piping hot and you never feel rushed. I also like that they have different perfomers each weekend. we had a blues guy one time and a string quartet the next. That was great. Highly recommended

Gale and I enjoyed excellent entrees of the Fresh Chicken Pomodoro and Grilled Pork Chop respectively. Both entrees were soakingly moist. well seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Gale had steamed brocholli and the baked mac & cheese which were both very well done. I had a double order of the steamed squash. Each plate had a serving of excellent Italian bread. A very good experience. Great Friday night spot.

Great night out! Nice little restaurant with good food, great service and nice atmosphere. I liked the food and the portions were good. The server was extremely good with just enough attention without being overbearing. It gets really crowded on Fridays and Saturdays, but I guess that’s a good sign. :-)

The food is outstanding. The restaurant is fairly new but already is very crowded. The stromboli sandwich was to die for and the lasagna is awesome. I highly recommend it.
