Cleary Lake Regional Park

It’s a small park with a great walking path. You can rent a canoe/​kayak, hit a bucket of golf balls, and play a par 3. During the winter, you can rent cross country skis and hang out by the bonfire. A great spot to hang out with family and friends to enjoy the weather.

My favorite things about Cleary are the chalet, which is always kept clean and at a comfortable temperature, and the cross country trails are generally very well kept. They rent equipment and have a variety of loops so this course is friendly to all skill levels. Admittedly, it’s fairly flat so it’s not the most challenging for more advanced athletes, but it’s definitely worth checking out sometime.

This is a beautiful park that offers something for everyone. We enjoy walking around the lake on the paved trail, and renting kayaks in the summer.

My dog and I have been regulars at the dog park here for years! We just returned after 4 years away and he knew *exactly* where we were going. Huge park of rolling hills, nice tall grass and groomed trails (even in winter). There’s enough room for all the dogs to romp and mouse-​hunt without getting overcrowded and the dogs that attend are by and large very friendly. Having the pond fenced separately is a great feature (especially later in the summer when the water gets nasty, and to keep them off the ice when during the freeze/​thaw season). This is definitely our favorite hangout in the Twin Cities.

I’m a HUGE FAN and long time visitor to the DOG PARK at Cleary. They have 28 acres FENCED including a fenced pond. They now have a bathroom, plastic bags for picking up messes, running water for hosing down our dirty or overheated dogs. The trails are wide and mowed. Some are foot trails. Picnic tables and trash bins reside throughout. It’s a beautiful scenic area of rolling hills. I’m really impressed as to how they’ve improved year after year since inception. I’m there almost weekly, it’s a place I encourage all dog owners who love their dogs to go to!

Cleary Lake I adore! The is the perfect park for working out. The paved trail is approximately 3.5 miles around the lake — if I recall correctly. Rollerblading it is a dream — little hills here and there. They maintenance it pretty well too. People are super great at the «on your left» when coming up behind you, but most are friendly.
There is also paddleboats, canoes, a driving range, 9-​hole golf, volleyball courts, a swimming beach, grills and a rental hall for parties.
The beach is a little weak with the sand. The driving range is convenient (I could get my arms workout before or after my blade!).
My favorite though… cross country skiing in the winter. The trails are nice and they rent equipment. I never got there, but I hear they light the trails for night skiing.
