I found Swenson Heating and AC by doing an on-​line search. I called them and let them know that my AC unit had caused a circuit breaker to blow, and that the fan sounded bad. They sent out a guy right away who spent about 10 minutes looking at the unit before he determined it was not cost effective to repair, and my only answer was a new unit. I was charged $ 45, and promised that his brother would call to show me my options. The brother did call and we set up an appointment. A new unit would cost $ 3,000. There were two repair options, but the cost would be $ 1,500 to $ 2,000, and couldn’t be guaranteed.
Well I thought I better call someone else for a 2^nd opinion before I spent $ 3,000. I did just that. A friend of a friend who used to do HVAC work agreed to come and check it out to make sure I really needed a replacement. Guess what — he replaced a small part and the AC unit has been working fine ever since. He charged me $ 150.
