I’ve always enjoy visiting this particular Origins store. The previous manager was so friendly and used to give me free samples. I recently stopped by for a free mini facial and to replenish my cleaner and cream. There is a promo occurring which include a free small fabric cosmetic bag w 3 samples if you spend over $ 45!

For the most part, Princeton retail is all about small, independent boutiques. Aside from Ralph Lauren, Ann Taylor, Nine West and Banana Republic, don’t expect to find any names like Sephora or the GAP. Perhaps their SATs scores weren’t impressive enough to earn them a place in this pretty, ivy-league town. So, I was ecstatic to find a stand-alone Origins store in Palmer Square, The store carries full-line face, body, fragrance and makeup products. Origins has been pioneering organic beauty options for the past 20 years! Now some of its products are certified by the USDA National Organic Program. Due to a moderate price range, $ 22 – 50, I’ve been a fan for nearly 10 years and attribute my glowing skin to a régime that includes: White Tea Guardian Toner, Microdermabrasion Scrub, Charcoal Clay Masks, and Never-A-Dull-Moment scrub. Even before it was hip to be environmentally conscious, Origins developed herbal and natural oils-based skincare with animal-/earth-friendly practices in mind. Unfortunately, the store is tiny and attracts heavy foot traffic. I don’t suffer from claustrophobia and usually quite comfortable riding the train at peak hour, but my experience walking into this store challenges that notion. The half-dozen times I’ve stopped in, I make a bee-line for what I need, pay and walk right out. Unless you visit on weekdays between 11 am and 2 pm(students in classes), it’s next to impossible to play with new products or receive individual customer attention. Even with purchases over $ 80, I failed to receive any sort of samples or customer appreciation incentives. On the other hand, If you own a car I highly recommend driving to the Macy’s Origins counter at Quakerbridge Mall. Even in the busy holiday season, the Macy’s rep was a lot more attentive than my experiences in Princeton. Plus, I often receive sample-size products for travel and complimentary facials in the Quakerbridge location. Bottom line: love their products, but if I need to restock I’ll order from their online store( ) or head to the mall.
