Absolute best pizza in Princeton. I always make a point to eat there if I’m passing through on business. Nino is a great guy, and always treats me well. Their ingredients are fresh and their sauce is incredible. Love this place!

I believe Pizza Star has lost its touch. Stale, dry barely warm pizza has helped me make the switch to Nomad.

This is a great spot for a quick slice or pizza for a large party. The staff is very helpful and been great with any special needs.

Decided to give this new pizza place in the Princeton Shopping Center a try. It is ok, though a bit expensive, and the arugula pizza is a little skimpy on… arugula. Still some of the best pizza in all of NJ, is right in the same shopping center at Nino’s Pizza Star!

Mad rude and arrogant owner. Called to place an order for delivery. Dude, you have a thick Italian American accent to me, I have a slight German accent. I tried to order a pizza and had one question about the size and you act like I am annoying and you can’t understand me?! I certainly didn’t speak wiss sett sick oven eck sent. I was totally annoyed by a fellow European. When the pizza arrived I was disappointed cause I’m used to arrogant people at least knowing what they are doing or having something to be proud of to explain their cockiness. Your pizza, signore, is average and far from Italian. It’s perfect for the kids tho that play baseball at the near field. If you’ve had real Italian food before don’t be disappointed. To the owner: check your attitude. See you at the next soccer World Cup your pizza is as fake as the injuries your soccer team claims to have.

The slice I had for lunch was terrific! The crust is very light without tasting like saltines. Highly recommended.

I grew up here and as a teenager used to come here constantly, at least a couple times every week for years. Owners Rosa and Nino were always friendly, polite, funny, a pleasure to be around for us kids and for our parents as well. Rosa and Nino know how to deal with people and how to treat customers. The current manager, who said his name was«Moodie»(spelling?), does not. He is impatient and irascible, gets annoyed and nasty very quickly. I returned for the first time in many years, excited to show my wife and children the place where I used to hang out with my friends as a younger guy, and immediately regretted it. For the pizza itself I’d give 4.5 stars, very good as it always was. Tasty, quality ingredients, cooked properly, nothing bad to say about this pizza. Highly recommended if you can order delivery and not deal with«Moodie» or come on a day when he is not working. They no longer sell zeppoles, which were delicious and had been one of our favorites. I know this because I asked«Moodie.» He couldn’t simply respond like a normal person and say in a nice tone, «oh, we stopped selling those a long time ago.» Instead, he scowled, scoffed, shook his head at the, and said loudly, as if I were stupid, «zeppoles, is that what you’re trying to say? We stopped selling those like fifteen years ago, where have you been?» I responded, «hey man, relax, I’m just asking a question. Zeppoles was one of our favorites, and I moved out of Princeton way more than fifteen years ago, so how would I know? And you know, we drove a long any to visit Princeton, and were really looking forward to lunch here. Sorry for making the effort to come.» Oddly, Moodie launched into an angry tirade, leaning over the counter at me, raising his voice, and berated me: «what’s wrong with you? You got a fucking attitude? You don’t like it here, don’t come here. You got a problem with me, you get out. We don’t sell zeppoles for fifteen years at least, I told. Nino and Rosa would not let you treat people like this if they knew.

There was a piece of metal wire in my slice of pizza. Photo is attached. My lab has gotten pizza here most weeks since Old World turned into Slice Between and became vile. This place never seemed much better, though, and I often just skipped the lab dinner for something better at home. I was used to the greasy, flavorless hunks of stale bread that they sent our way each week, but I was shocked to find a 2″ fragment of copper bristle right in my food. Even for a low-class establishment like this, I have at least a baseline expectation of personal safety.

One of the best spots in Princeton to get a slice. I’ve been going to Pizza Star for the last ten years, and they provide some of the best pizzeria food in Jersey. The salads are huge, cheese steaks are tasty, the buffalo chicken slice might be one of the best you’ll ever have. Princeton shopping center has plenty of parking, so it provides a respite to the hassles of downtown(not too far away from Washington St.).

God forbid you stand at the wrong place to order! First time eating there pizza was good but the guys working the register and handing out slices need an attitude adjustment.

On my last day of the week long class at Westminster choir college, I decided that I want to have pizza. There was a line when I entered, which is a good sign. I ordered a plain and a mushroom slice. I am amazed at how big the slices are. And the price is excellent…5.50 for the 2 slices. I sat at their outside area, which was very clean and nice. I definitely recommend this pizzeria. Can’t wait to eat there again.

Decent pizza. Best one is the buffalo blue cheese pizza, but even that is a greasy mess.

Laid back place. I’ve been going here since I was a kid and the pizza is consistently as good as I remember it. I specially like the white pizza and the cheese steaks with LTO. The only downside is that it is a bit more expensive than at other places. For instance, the cheese steak is $ 9.50 as of 4÷26÷15 and you have to pay 0.25 cents more for every additional ingredient, which in my opinion should be included, like they are at the Nassau St. hoagie place. Nonetheless, I really like it here and will continue to go, but maybe not have the cheese steak as often.

I love NY style pizza but this is not what I would consider good pizza. This is the second time eating their pizza and both times my friends and I agreed that it’s honestly not great. The pizza has too much dough and the sauce is very bland. For what it’s worth, I’m also not a fan of Contes.

This is a great little pizza joint that has all kinds of pizzas; my favorite has to be the Brooklyn pie. It’s conveniently located in a busy shopping center with a courtyard close by.

One would not guess looking at the exterior(strip mall-ish), but Everything at Pizza Star is of excellent quality and wholesome! The salads are amazing; the pesto, bruschetta, and the pizza are *superb* — my personal favorite of their pizza is the ricotta/pesto, but they’re all good and the large is huge. I had a bowl of chicken soup there once that tasted like it came from the hearth of a Tuscan«Nona». I’m not sure how he does it because it almost seems like the owner [who is so kind and humble!!] keeps his profits too low for what we’re getting. Sorry I don’t take picts… but the ones already posted show what I’m talking about.

As an Italian American I am proud to say my ancestors brought the art of pizza to the new world. The craft was refined in New York, but perfected at pizza star with the creation of their buffalo chicken pizza. The buffalo chicken pizza here is the pinnacle of pizza making world wide and I’m amazed to find it at this humble pizza place in Princeton. A head and shoulders better than anything I have ever had. Also, their other pizzas are still way better than anything you can get in town, but if you’re not getting the bcp, you’re doing it wrong.

Ten years ago, my boyfriend(who grew up in Princeton) was obsessed with this place. He said it was the best pizza ever. I thought it was pretty good. Now we’re back in the area, and oh my gosh, the pizza hasn’t changed at all! Well, maybe it’s gotten better! I got the white pizza with ricotta — really really good. Highly recommend. Huge slice, great price. The space is open and laid back, and with good food in your belly, you find yourself finding the whole experience kind of lovable and endearing. I’m won over!
