This restaurant is a unique blend of Korean and Japanese cuisines that satisfy your tastebuds! We came here on a Saturday afternoon and there were enough empty seats available. Our waiter was patient and gave us enough time to look over the menu. We ordered one dish of bulgogi(Korean beef) and two rolls of French and Charlie sushi rolls to share. The beef was absolutely savory and delicious! We ate the medium-sized portion in a matter of minutes. The side of Korean vegetables(kimchi included) prevented us from the uncomfortable feeling of overeating. The sushi were fresh as well. The French roll had tempura inside as the main ingredient and the Charlie roll was topped with caviar. Total price for the food and hot green tea: $ 51. The only confusion with this place was finding the entrance at first. The main door is locked, so we had to find our way in through the door in the back which was labeled as «Sushi Café.»

no staring contest this time. cool. the new waitress is actually really personable. they keep on revamping their menu and getting more expensive. portion sizes are usually too big for me to finish so i got the kalbi salad on the special menu which i’m guessing is supposed to be an appetizer. the mixed greens were very seasonal and fresh. kalbi, as always, is tougher than ideal but flavor is on point. i do have fond memories of this place. during college this was the only legit and authentic asian food spot that remained open the whole time besides ajihei(and we all know how annoying ajihei can be). having gone to countless social gatherings here from birthday parties to date nights, i actually developed my taste in soondubu here such that what they serve at BCD tofu house in ktown NYC almost seems new and strange… food is really 3 stars but this place does mean a lot to me

The kimchi bibimbap and ohmu rice are simply delicious. Everything on the menu is prepared with care and everything is fresh. Nassau Sushi is the best place to order awesome Korean dishes and sushi at the same time!

How does this place have only 3 stars! Been coming here for 7 years with my husband. We LOVE this place. It’s our favorite place to get sushi in Princeton actually. Service is always good, I LOVE their rolls. We have also gotten some other food there too. Bimbap I think it’s called? Lol. Everything is delicious!!! I love this place so much. The Charlie roll is my favorite :)

I had the avocado eel roll, it was pure deliciousness! I went around lunch time and it wasn’t really crowded and the staff was very welcoming. I guess they had pandora playing because while I was waiting they was playing lil Wayne unedited lol I loved it! I’ll definitely be back again!

The tables are extremely sticky and the water is by far the worst I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Also pretty expensive for the amount you get but the sashimi is nice and fresh

Well, I lied and went back. And this time I really will never go again. Maybe I keep making the mistake of ordering their Korean dishes(I thought the owner was Korean though?) because my two friends and I each ordered different pork dishes and got pretty much identical dishes. also, the pork was extremely poor quality and had a very strange taste. Please heed my warning and stay away from the Korean section of the menu.

I’ve been here twice with my boyfriend. It’s a really cute place, and the service is super prompt. Both times I went were during the week and there were only 1 or 2 other parties at the restaurant. This made the restaurant intimate and great for quality conversation. We were also served within minutes. I’m not sure what it’s like on the weekend, though. The menu is diverse, and the sushi is delicious and healthy. The prices are reasonable, too. Be sure to check their hours before you go, especially if you want to get lunch! :)

My hubby only came here once and wasn’t impressed by the food. None of the dishes were memorable.

First of all, the name is kind of misleading since this place seems to serve a lot of Korean food too. However, I got a veggie roll and it was really great since it had a lot of stuff it in it like cucumbers, carrots, sprouts, cabbage etc. I didn’t expect the rolls to be so big but it was still pretty nice. The plating was really pleasant and overall, the pricing wasn’t ridiculously high for a sushi place in Princeton.

Nassau Sushi is essentially a Korean restaurant masquerading as a combined Japanese/Korean restaurant, and I’m not entirely sure why, not to mention why it goes by the name of Nassau Sushi. As my girlfriend pointed out to me, even the Japanese dishes are spelled with the Korean phoneticization. The Korean food is much better than the Japanese food. If you really want sushi, I’d recommend going over to Ajihei. Admittedly, Nassau Sushi can be difficult to find, since it’s tucked away behind Thomas Sweets Ice Cream, and the sign in front of the restaurant says not«Nassau Sushi» but instead«Sushi Café,» which is really much more confusing than it needs to be. In any case, if you really find a craving for Korean food and don’t feel like heading over to Edison or even Koreantown in New York City, Nassau Sushi will satisfy that craving. All the bibimbaps are tasty, and so is the bulgogi. The la bok ki is good too, but it could use some more vegetables and perhaps even some meat in it to balance out the massive carb load that the dish would otherwise be(rice cakes AND noodles). Portions are all massive. Otherwise it’s a solid restaurant in the otherwise desolate $ 20/person range of restaurants in Princeton.

Atmosphere: This is really a great place to grab some quality sushi outside in the warmer months. With a private deck attached to the restaurant, Nassau Sushi has ample outside seating to accommodate at least six tables of people. It’s also located right on Nassau street, which can make for a great place to enjoy a meal while watching all the«action» of Princeton. Food: With the outside setting being so nice, I was hoping the food would live up to that same standard. And thankfully, it did. I had the vegetable gyoza for appetizer and they were delicious. In both shape and taste, it was unique and quite tasty. I then shared the sweet potato roll and shrimp tempura roll, which were both excellent. Sweet potato was fried to a crisp, yet very subtle in the sushi. The shrimp tempura roll was excellent as well, and more importantly, wasn’t overly breaded as a lot of shrimp tempura rolls tend to be. I then had their rice and vegetable staple dish, which was really good and came in a hot bowl. Adding the spicy sauce is a must though, as the dish was slightly bland without it. That aside, it was delicious and filling. Summary: This is definitely one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Princeton thus far. It’s quality sushi and for prices that are very reasonable given dining prices in the area. Service is excellent and you really can’t beat the outside dining in the warmer months. That alone makes this place stand out, but the food is delicious as well. This is definitely added to the go to list!

Had some good small rolls here one afternoon when other sushi places in town were closed. I don’t necessarily prefer their sushi, and their prices are a bit high for the area, but I haven’t had a chance to check out the rest of the menu, which is extensive. What we had was good, though. Service is super quick and it feels like a place where you could stop by for lunch and be out in less than 45min if you needed to! Very amenable to groups, as well. They’ve even got a dining room in the front that’s separate from the main hall.

My friend used to work here. He said the kitchen was really clean. Food is really good too. But I think their specialty is the Japanese dishes not korean.

I got a big olé plate of sushi from here and man, was it good. Everything was fresh(I ordered things like urchin which can easily be nasty). It was a bit pricey but the quality was better than that of cheaper places. The servers were nice and helpful. The crowd was a bit annoying — people who must feel their conversations are so intelligent and interesting that they need to speak at a volume that everyone can overhear.

I had the ‘french roll’ recently, with shrimp tempura and eel. The chef smiled and told me it was his favorite… and he was right, it was delicious! Just a side note — Kalbi salad supposedly has ‘romaine’ but it seemed more like red chard… so there may be some inconsistencies between what is written and what actually arrives on your plate.

Cute little place. Would prefer to go there for lunch over dinner. For dinner I like a swankier sushi joint that rolls it all out with a little more fanfare but for lunch this place is perfect. I’m sure it is really good when you can sit outdoors. They have nice rolls and nigiri and also offer plenty for the non-fish eaters that lurk in every dinner crowd. In addition to their sushi, I’ve tried their noodle soup. Good stuff but not off the charts.

Had the bi bim bap — very, very mediocre. Rice was under seasoned, and the provided sauce lacked kick. Clearly caters to a distinctly Western palate. Prices are steep, though not disproportionate to the rest of Nassau street’s offerings. Like many of its competitors, the restaurant is BYOB, which is probably the most redeeming quality.

I used to think that there was no such thing as bad bibimbap. It’s just some meat, vegetables and rice in a hot stone pot — how hard can it be? Even fast food bibimbap is amazing. Nassau Sushi, however, proved that I have been spoiled. The vegetables were way too clumped together, making it very difficult to mix it together with the rice and meat. The beef was dry and clumpy as well, extremely disappointing. A far cry from the delicious bulgogi I’ve come to expect in my bibimbap. And the rice didn’t seem fresh, clumping together and sticking in my mouth and scratching the roof of my throat. At the price, $ 16, I expected a lot better. The banchan were also nothing special. In California, far superior bibimbap can be had for less than $ 10. And even in Princeton, Soonja’s offers a better version. Plus they took the order wrong for my friend. The place was extremely empty when I visited and now I can see why.

This is a cute little sushi place located next to Princeton’s campus. Atmosphere: casual, quiet, good for conversation. Service is ok. Food: all meal entrees are decent,(with the exception of veggie udon, which is bland and pricy.) The sushi though, is one of the best in town! Dessert: yummy green tea ice cream! Why I give it 4 stars though? because it is super pricy! Given it is next to an ivy league campus, but still…: /
