Stale food and appalling customer service. And the prices don’t justify the a self serve restaurant at all.

Great food! Love the spice and flavors. I have tried a variety of dishes on different occasions and each one I’ve tried has been delicious. Also love the consistency of the flavors.

I had low expectations because of earlier reviews and the location, but was pleasantly surprised. We had tikka and kebabs with garlic naan and all was delicious and cooked perfectly. A nice place for lunch.

Worst place ever! 30 mins to close and they chase customers away trying to limit menu options and talking to you rudely. There is no need to entertain customer if you are going to treat them badly. Unfortunately, never had an opportunity to try the food.

Over all their food is average, whoever said their biryani is good, has never eaten an authentic biryani. I’ve eaten much better goat/chicken biryani’s in NJ. The only good thing about this place is their offering of lunch combos which no other place in the area does. What started as a promising eatery in the area has now come to an appalling state. We’ve been regularly dining at Hurry Chutney since the day it opened, as frequently as twice a week. In the last few months, the over all customer experience at this place has deteriorated to the extent that we have now stopped going to this place. One of the waiters here, who hands over the food from the kitchen, to the customer over the counter is shockingly rude. We have personally had one such bitter experience with the guy(he argued with us and asked us «do we know how to run a restaurant», when we complained about the delay in food and was totally unapologetic about it !!) and witnessed many more while we forgivingly continued to dine their even after our bitter experience. Not going there anymore!

I have been visiting this place since they open this 2 – 3 years back. Today, when they were giving me vada sambar, the guy took the wada in his hand and closed his wrist to check if it’s hot/warm(like stress ball), I asked the owner why he did that, he said he has to check if it’s warm. I thought that guy is working in restaurant and must clean. When I took the wada it was not at all cooked, I took it to the owner and showed him. They gave me some other item as a replacement. The owner did not even apologies for all these things. While going out I went to him and told him the Biryani was good(it was really good). I hope the owner reads this and stop the unhygienic practice. I wish all restaurants has open kitchen. Thanks

This place has the best Goat biryani in my opinion. I have had biryanis from here for the past 2 years and I can say for sure the biryanis is getting better for sure. The starters looks good and to some extent with the taste but nothing worth mentioning. The next thing that strikes me is the sweets, some good Bengali sweets. Please try them out, there are not mind blowing but certainly very good :) There are few problems with hurry chutney — please get some staffs who look like they are welcoming — 17 $ for one goat biryani seriously? — When we come to this hotel there is no feel of us coming to a place which is welcoming, please work on that. I certainly believe this hotel can be the best if you want to. 3* purely for goat biryani and the sweets.

First off, I did not dine in. So, I can’t comment on that part of the restaurant. Now on to my review: Every time I went there I’ve been greeted by the guy behind the cash register. He’s always been super friendly. Every time I’ve been there the restaurant looked clean, a few times it was busy too, but not as busy as a weekend would be. I’ve got food to go a few times since they’ve opened and every time my order was 100% correct, even the few times I’ve ordered for my office of about 10 people. The guy who was checking the order before it was handed to me said he personally checked my order and that there wouldn’t be any problems and if there was he’d fix it. I counted the number of items in my bag before I left. Matched up. When I got back to the office, there wasn’t any issues what so ever. The biryani is excellent. We’ve tried veg, chicken, and lamb. They give you a side of curry gravy or something. They’ll make it hot if you want, but that just includes putting chopped up green chili mixed in. Although I like spicy food, I’d just get the biryani as is. Big portions. My favorite item, and one which I usually order is something that I’ve never seen at any other Indian restaurant: Shaam Savera Kofta. It pretty much combines some of my favorite dishes into one. There’s spinach, there’s paneer, then there’s a tomato gravy. It’s fantastic! They also have some different breads I don’t see elsewhere like Mint and Scallion Paratha. I would love to try the Beetroot Cutlet, but they never have any. I don’t know why they keep it listed on the menu then. It’s my favorite Indian restaurant in the area.

We visit this place almost every week. This place uses authentic spices and food is always fresh! Fresh food wins half the battle in my opinion! Chicken Kali Mirch is the best item here, even though no longer on the menu, owner can make it at your request if you are nice to him! This is not black pepper chicken which is Chinese item here. So be very specific. Paan masala ice cream is another unique item you don’t want to miss. Never had it elsewhere. Owner who is usually at the counter is very nice and courteous person.

So much promise … and yet so tragically appalling. Didn’t get to try the food, the one star is based simply about the 2 minutes I spent in there before leaving. Arrived late on a Sunday to find the place absolutely disgusting like a pig-pen, turned around and walked out. Initially it looks great from outside, concept is good and its deceptively large, canteen style with a lot of tables and a counter to order at. But every single empty table(and most were empty on Sunday night) was covered with what I call«dining feces» — i.e. breadcrumbs, pieces of lettuce, miscellaneous damp patches! I don’t mean the first table we found, I mean every single empty table of about 8 we looked at. DISGUSTING! This is basic restaurant hygiene — a rag and a bottle of Clorox spray is all it takes to fix this problem! I’ve eaten at some of the most dubious Indian places and this is the first one I’ve found this particular issue at. Additionally to this the floor was sticky, like walking through treacle. Now the old rule applies, if that’s how hygienic it is in the area’s that people can see, imagine what it might be like in the area’s that people can’t see.

Worst Pani Puri ever. $ 4.95 for 5 shells with literally nothing but a price of potato in there. Takes for for ever to serve & cashier is very rude too … Will never go back again. There are many other great places around.

We continue to come back here fairly often. The chat options are very nice and quite reasonably priced – many under $ 6.00 – while providing a full meal. They have a wide variety of foods that I haven’t often seen outside of India, including pan masala, and an assortment of Indian sweets that would rival at least the rural Himalayan confectioners that I used to frequent. I’ll give you that the tandoori meals aren’t up to snuff, and the service could be a bit faster. But there are lots of good offerings, and the clientele speaks to it being exactly what it claims to be: authentic, unpretentious Indian fare in Princeton. It’s not special food, or even distinguished food, but it is the real deal, and that’s something I have not found often stateside.

Chicken Kathi Roll served with rusted staple inside. Went to talk to manager but situation was chaotic with many customers unhappy with service. Waited but could not speak to manager. Poor food quality. Will never eat here again.

Disappointing, as I had heard good things about Hurry Chutney prior to my visit. It was extremely dirty, from the counter to the tables to the restroom. The service was terrible and the food was subpar at best. I ordered the veggie manchurian which had absolutely no flavor and was drowned in sauce, making it more like a soup. When I went, they were playing a really vulgar Eminem song totally unedited during lunch hour; it didn’t offend me, but could easily offend others and was highly inappropriate. Will not be returning.

Had been here again. Never take the crispy pepper chicken. It’s horrible. Firstly this is not even pepper chicken. It’s just a chicken pakoda with uncooked chicken inside. Very bad. Only edible dish till now is Samosa and Samosa Chat.

Have had takeaway from here a couple of times. Ordinary stuff. Ok for the Tikka /kabab kind of stuff but found everything else oily. Also tried a fish dish at a relative’s place once(so take away again) — average again.

Worst food of all. This is our second horrible experience. We ordered Chicken 65 which tasted so sweet and full of «Red food color». Then we ordered choley bhature, which was no way near to bhature… guess chef really needs to understand and learn between big puri and bhature. Their Andhra style fish is our least favourite of all this horrible experience. Fish was really stinky and big chunk of green bell pepper and onions are all you can get. I wouldn’t advice this place. We are definitely not coming back here period

Nothing about this place is «hurry». Three appetizers took over 15 mins. And the food is horrible. I wonder how this place is still in business. Especially when there are so many good Indian places in NJ. Avoid this place. Food sucks, and takes forever. Moreover the guys behind the counter seemed to have no clue about food industry. Don’t give out pagers if you are going to check receipts every time the pager buzzes.
