My boyfriend and I are moving to Prescott from L.A. and we both love Thai food. We walked into Thaifoon and the owner/chef walked over to us and handed us two spoon her peanut sauce, which is to die for yummy. We both felt like we were in «grandma’s kitchen». As far as the food, it is just as good as the experience! I know she uses more veggies in her dishes compared to the«typical» Thai food places I’ve been too!!! This is now one of our favorite places to eat in Prescott!

Best Thai food in Prescott! We had the Chiang-Mai noodles, spicy Thai basil noodles and veggie spring rolls. Pan, the owner and cook, was friendly and a fun host. This is a cash only and take out only place. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Prescott. We also enjoyed a drink from Park Plaza nearby as we waited for our food.

Well, I wanted to like this place. Got there just before 5 pm. Would have loved to have had some vegetarian egg rolls, Nope out of them, would have loved to have some brown rice… Out too. How in the fuck can a Thai restaurant be out of rice? They were out of jasmine too. So I tried to get the stir fried mixed vegetables. Here’s the kicker, 40 minute wait, she is the only one there and she has seven orders ahead of us that she has to cook. It is a takeout only. This is a real shame since she gets so much business that she sells out on a Thursday evening. Thumbs down, the first I’ve given in years.

One of my go-to places for great thai food in Prescott. The food is fantastic. It is a true hole-in-the-wall and worth every penny.

The food used to be great at Thaifoon, but this is no longer true. Bothe the peanut sauce and coconut milk are watered down. The coconut is thickened with cornstarch and the food does not have any taste.

Love the authentic Thai food they servce! Real deal, and FINALLY a place that can make it SPICY on request. Sky is the limit for the spice. Yellow curry is awesome, big portions. Simple and delicious.

I really like this place. The two ladies that run it are so sweet and funny! My husband and I have had no issues with the food whatsoever. I kinda like how it’s a hole in the wall, literally lol. It makes me feel like I’m in Asia, takes me to a whole new world!

Only take cash, which is a bummer. When you ask for Tai hot, you better believe it’s going to burn going in and out. No seating, except for the tiny patio table and few chairs. Not sure about the cleanliness of the place, frankly I don’t care.

Some of the best eating in this country is found in little out of the way hidden places and run by people who have a passion for food. ThaiFoon is one of these rare treasures. It is run by two awesome ladies(Pan & Pon) who cook from the heart, serve up incredibly tasty Thai dishes and have a great time while doing so. The food is all fresh and made to order and you can get any«heat» profile that you would like from very very mild to «HONEST, I’M NOTCRYING». They will encourage you to work your way up:) The heat comes on slowly just like it should and it doesn’t over power the underlying flavors.(Most restaurants get this wrong.) The portions are more than fair and the flavor profiles on their dishes are WORTHEVERYPENNY.

For Prescott this is the place to go for Thai. It’s a take out place but you can eat there outside on the picknick table. Ladies in there will keep you entertained

The food is fresh and made to order, but It’s too expensive for the little meat content you get. Mostly vegetables with a lot of sauce, so it looks like you’re getting a lot. Also no real seating or service. I prefer Thai House for the same quality, inside seating, and less $$$.

Years ago I use to eat here regularly. Today was the first time I came in since. It really was some of the best thai food I ever had. But after the food I got today, I will NEVER go back. I will even go as far as to make a Unilocal account for the sake of bashing this place. I have never been this disappointed in anywhere I have ever eaten.

MUCH less impressed second time around. Pad woon sen flavorless and spiceless and the tofu was not fresh at all. Mostly sliced up cabbage. Thai chef lady number one said, don’t watch Thai chef lady #2 cooking — she doesn’t know how to cook. I thought she was kidding… And my stomach didn’t feel good afterwards. Maybe it was a coincidence and maybe it was the aged tofu. She did suggest *chicken*, so if you do go here get the chicken, and I think maybe if number one chef does the cooking, but I think I won’t bother to find out.

What a great find! My family was vacationing in Prescott and looking for Thai food. Thaifoon is hard to find as it doesn’t face the street. The two Thai ladies were very friendly and explained the ingredients in the Thai dishes they prepared for us, even offering samples to make sure the spiciness was just right. We had the Tom Ka soup, Pad Thai, and Green Curry. All were winners. There is no dining room. But the ladies set up a table for us to sit on the sidewalk(not crowded). We will be back every time we visit Prescott.

One again the ladies of Thaifoon have satisfied the craving. The food here is awesome and definitely worth it. Don’t let the exterior fool you… the food is fresh, cooked to order, and cooked literally right in front of you.

If you want to find the places to eat you have to ask around. I seem to relearn this rule ever so often, and this time following it scored us a big win.(Thanks to CJ’s for the referral and a great haircut!) It is a little plaza with a few other gems.(See Nick’s Feed your Face for a great sub!) It doesn’t look like much from the outside. Think hole-in-the-wall. First off, it’s tiny. Really, really, tiny. No indoor seating. There is a small area to read the menu, order and wait. You will not be bored waiting as the ladies who run it cook your food right in front of you and chatter the whole time. I can order food, beer and find a bathroom in Thai, so I can’t follow half of what they say, but there are genuinely friendly and enjoy their work. And, boy, can they cook. It is fresh. Nothing, except the rice, is precooked. They always encourage me to get it spicy and they find it amusing a big ‘ol bear like me prefers it medium hot. There is a great variety in the menu and I make a point to mix my favorites up with new things. I haven’t tried anything there I didn’t like. There seem to be wide regional differences in Thai food, for instance their Pad Thai is different that any other I have had, but I also have never had any two Pad Thai’s(anywhere) that were the same! I really think there is a little Loatian influence in the menu but it all tastes great. My favorites are the Tom Ka soup, Pad Woon-sen and Thai Kao Pad. It is, hands down, my favorite takeout food in Prescott.

This hole-in-the-wall restaurant(for take-out food, although I ate at one of its two small outdoor tables) is a revelation and a miracle. From Palm Springs, I regularly visit my relatives in Prescott. With each visit I search the town in vain for a worthwhile restaurant. However, in early January 2012, eating(in desperation) at the Prescott Denny’s, I asked my waiter if he knew of any good local Asian restaurants. His face lit up and he said: you must eat at Thaifoon. When a waiter recommends a competing restaurant, I am all ears. Thaifoon is open weekdays only, and only from 11 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.(The days and hours were selected by the owners to make the take-out restaurant convenient for city employees and college students.) The two personable owners, Pan and Pon, recommended a vegetarian choice: tofu and vegetables in yellow curry sauce, with a side of brown rice. OMG!(Let me say it again: OMG!): First, the brown rice was unlike any I had eaten before. Each grain was plump, rich with flavor, and the perfect complement to the yellow curry liquid. The spices in the yellow curry produced the desired warmth on the palate, without overwhelming the taste buds. Beneath that warm, a creaminess — could it have been rich coconut milk? I had a diet soda which was sold at a ridiculously low price(I think it was seventy cents). And, as an appetizer, I ordered the fried vegetarian spring rolls(two) which were absolutely heavenly. The wraps for the rolls were flaky and tender, like the lightest filo dough imaginable. And inside the rolls were julienne vegetables — I recall carrot and zucchini — light and airy and crunchy. A sweet vinegary sauce was supplied for dipping. The entire meal was out of this world. And because I was there during the mid-afternoon lull in their business, owners Pan and Pon spoke with me at length about their lives, their families, their partnership, their restaurant, and their mission, their passion, to express love through authentic Thai food. These two indomitable spirits formed their partnership around two years ago.(The restaurant existed previously under different ownership.) Their days start at 8 a.m. to prep for the lunch orders. They keep their business small and simple(no checks or credit cards accepted), and they have absolutely no desire to franchise or to open multiple locations. Benjamin Franklin, emerging from the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, was asked what kind of government had been created. His reply: A democracy — if you can keep it. Well, Prescott, Pan and Pon have created a Thai food love fest; and now it’s up to you, Prescott, to keep it going.

A hole-in-the-wall, the way Thai food should be. I am a bit of a Thai food snob having lived in Thailand for a year and prefer Thaifoon over other Thai restaurants in town. The owners are 2 friendly Thai ladies who have a great time in the kitchen and chatting with customers. They actually do Thai spice right – the medium spice made me sweat! It is a great place for quick take-out and you can watch them cook your food in the tiny kitchen. Cash only. Outdoor seating when weather permits.

Hard to give a hole in the wall ***** but if you’ve had authentic or not this place is wonderfull. I recommend you ask them to spice it up an have them make it like they do for themselves! Take out only.
