We’ve been coming here regularly for a year or so. The donuts are great and always fresh. The only negative is that they are always running low by 7:30 or so. I guess the cook makes a bunch and goes home. Most time they limit the number of the ones you want so they don’t run out of them. Make more donuts, easy or keep the cook there longer. Also not open on Sundays.

We have been going here for quite some time, and today the quality has really seemed to slip. The doughnuts(all we got) were more oily than ever before, and the fritters were really dark… too dark. The flavor was good but i am getting concerned about the quality.

We are new to Prescott and we stopped in for a couple of donuts and to get familiar with the local businesses. My wife chose an apple fritter and I selected a «twist» — all to go. The twist was surprisingly oily and the fritter was obviously over-cooked(burned tasting). All the fritters looked the same, darker that we were used to, so I have to wonder how they were offered for sale — no quality control? We’re reluctant to go back, but maybe we were there on an off-day?

I purchased a glazed jelly filled donut and it was terrible! It was over priced for something terrible. I couldn’t taste the glaze layer on the donut and the jelly was very bland. No flavor at all for a donut that should’ve been rich in flavor.

We got a tip from a local to visit this place while we were staying overnight in the area and I’m so glad we did! We went in early, around 7 or 8 and they were sliding in fresh trays of maple glazed donuts as we walked in. Best donut I’ve ever had, hands down, and let’s just say I’m now mildly addicted. I even liked their cake donuts, which I’ve never been a fan of in the past. Lovely job, and the hubby agrees!

While heading over to that pretty shopping ctr in the boulders we saw this rather hidden strip mall with a donut/ice cream shop, It was Saturday mid day when we stopped and picked up a dozen donuts. We were greeted with a friendly smile and hello and had the place to ourselves so no reason to rush at all — and we did SOAKIN the quaintness of this shop that had our senses alive and well! The outside was plain and deceiving but like just about every place we’ve experienced in Prescott this shop was orderly and CLEAN and welcoming. The gal behind the counter was pleasant and enjoyed answering our questions about the history and style of the INSIDE of the building. From outside or driving by, you might now even find this strip mall appealing but the inside of the Donut Factory was quite charming, spacious and inviting! After we broke the ice chatting about the cuteness of the shop we got to the real reason we stopped in — the DONUTS! First off, the SMELL was making us want to hang out a while and it made ALL the donuts look good. The donuts appeared picture perfect(shame on us for not taking a photo). The display and behind the counter looks almost like we were in the WONKA factory! It was hard to pick a dozen out of all the fresh choices before us in the BIG showcase. We got a variety and all were quite tasty, super fresh and liked that we didn’t experience any stale, greasy or bland tasting donuts. Sprinkled, almond slivered, devils food, maple and glazed were all equally wonderful tasting and once again, FRESH :) We’ll be back for more of these sweet treats on our visits to Prescott!

This is the worst donuts I’ve ever had. I only ate half a donut all I could taste was oil all over my lips. When donuts was first invented they were called«oily cakes«Google it «And this place has taken donuts back in history. Again these are the worst donuts I have ever had. And the other problem is you don’t have a good place that makes donuts to compare him against.

Just had an amazing Doughnut here fresh out of the fryer. They were running really well for it to be so busy. After all it is National Doughnut Day. I will definitely come back here. Amazing doughnut. I recommend it to anyone who loves doughnuts!

My friend brought donuts over one morning for a coffee date. They were so delicious. They tasted home made and filled with loved. They were moist and addicting. I had the Bostom cream style One and I am still craving that donut days later! Can’t wait to go check out the actual place.

The chai lattes are HALF the price of Olde World Bagels. Donuts are cheap and great. The new coffee area is amazing! I LOVEITHERE! I’m gonna bring my friends here from now on. Save a few bucks each person instead of going to Cuppers or Olde World Bagels

Great donuts, great venue, great price. Only 89 cents for a donut. I would totally comeback.

We were just a little bit let down by our last visit. The donuts, while tasty, were just a bit on the dry side at 10:30 am. Selection was meager too. The buttermilk bars my kids like are $ 1.29. Fritters I like are $ 1.59. My favorite giant cinnamon rolls were sold out. So, I picked up a couple of 89 cent regular donuts and then drove over to *****‘s and grabbed a couple of 59 cents buttermilk bars and fritters and took them all home to compare. They were all good, but the kids liked the 59 cent ones from *****‘s better; and, they were moister. I prefer to support local small businesses, but economic times are tough. Also some of the donuts here are double or triple the price of grocery stores. If Prescott Donut factory tasted better than grocery stores’ or were close in price to grocery store, then I’d prefer them. I think I’ll take a hiatus on these for a while. - I you feel this review is Useful, Funny, or Cool, please check the boxes below. Thanks.

Cute mom and pop donut shop! We make the trip from Prescott Valley, so if that doesn’t tell you how good these donuts are, I don’t know what does! ;-)

Contrary to what Unilocal posts, the Donut Factory is closed today. I went there early this morning only to be disappointed by a sign on their door announcing their closure for the holiday. Really? It’s a donut store… it should be open! I ended up going to safeway for my pregnant daughter-in-law’s donut craving!

They’re never open when I stop by! Their website(which seems to be no longer in-service) claimed«open daily», so I showed up on a Sunday and saw the place closed down. Went one time on a weekday, and they had a sign in the window saying they were closed for literally 4 – 5 days to spend time with family. I get that you’re a small family-run business, but hire someone else for God’s sakes and entrust them with Sundays and holidays. Geez.

We are new to Prescott, and so I wasn’t sure where to go to satisfy my husband’s donut craving. He checked Unilocal and found rave reviews for the Prescott Donut Factory. Off I went to find a quaint hole-in-the-wall shop. The donuts were fresh and absolutely delish-thanks fellow Unilocalers for the reviews! It was about 11:30 am, so I didn’t see a great variety but definitely will return here when the next hankering appears!

Excellent buttermilk bars and coffee! Also a great way to keep our money local, instead of pumping our hard earned dollars into a corporate dungeon that oppresses our neighbors(Safeway)! But seriously, all anti-corporation ranting aside, this place makes my favorite donuts. I can’t wait to try their Apple fritters!

This place was like a bare foot in a pool full of barracudas when it opened, so we let the crowds die down for a few months before we gave it a try — be warned that there is still a line out the door most mornings! Luckily, it is WELL worth the wait you may experience. We got half a dozen different kinds of donuts, and every one of them was seriously delicious. It was already 10am on a Friday, but each donut still tasted fresh-baked. My favorite was a strawberry glazed cake donut — I could not believe the glaze actually tasted like strawberries, not just«pink» and sugar. Weird, right? Even the cake donut that was conveniently included with the glaze was amazing — crispy on the outside, and literally melted in my mouth. A dozen donuts is not going to run you cheap here, but this is one of those cases where you will HAPPILY pay twice what Safeway charges for 12 food-grade-wax-coated paperweights. I liked that even though it’s a pretty tiny space, and lines are usually quite long, that there were actually enough employees to keep the line moving. The morning we were there, there was one employee working the coffee area(they have a large menu of gourmet coffee drinks that look amazing), two people working registers, and 2 – 3 working the donut case. It seemed crowded and hectic back there til I realized we were in and out with our bag of sugared heaven in less than 5 minutes despite having at least 20 people in line ahead of us — that’s a seriously appreciated use of manpower. One big con: they’re not currently open on Sunday. I’m pretty shocked they choose to be closed on a weekend, and I hope they elect to change that sometime soon.
