Granddaughter wanted to Golden Corral for dinner. This was one of the worst times that we went. The food was old, the service was terrible. Shay tried to help us, and she wasn’t even our server. It seems to be better for breakfast and lunch versus dinner?

Met a business contact for lunch at their expense, not expecting to buy their product nor enjoying my lunch. While I have been here in the past with elderly family members and not caring for it much, I must admit the food seemed better this trip. I liked that they had breakfast items late. The pancakes were delightful for being in a warming tray. I did scrambled eggs, with cheese sauce & grated cheese, mushrooms, onions and a very good fresh medium picod’giallo. As I remembered from past visits, our server Pam was exceptional, talkative, friendly, outgoing, and knowledgeable. After this experience, I might go back on my own.

I have been to Golden Corral in Prescott many times. Our recent visits have been very good. My wife and I are always pleased with the food and service. I agree with a couple of the other comments that the seating is cramped and difficult to maneuver at times. Prices are reasonable. With two kids, We enjoy going because there are times when we appreciate being able to get to the restaurant and eat not having to wait for orders, drinks, ect.

Mu suggestion for this restaurant is there needs to be an area with access for the elderly that have to use wheelchairs or walkers. I was not impressed with how they cram so many tables into each section and as my mother has to use a walker it was worse. The hostess stuck us in a corner with tables all around and we could not avoid running into patrons with the walker in such closed areas. Then to try and maneuver her walker so it wasn’t in any ones way or they did not trip over it… what a disaster. I suggest if you are going to go to this establishment with an elderly patron that must use a walker or wheelchair you might want to rethink and go to a regular restaurant and I believe that the prices were be comparatively comparable and you would have adequate seating room.

BREAKFASTREVIEW Golden Corral has changed since a couple years back. The ingredients used to be the lowest quality anywhere. Can you even image bacon tasting bad??? Somehow they had found some that did. The same was true of the sausage, gravy, biscuits etc. The only thing edible was the cooked to order eggs. It was a solid 1STAR. That was then. This is now… For some reason I found myself there for breakfast recently. I was shocked at the improvement. Everything was actually good. Apparently they have upped the quality of the ingredient, use more fresh and less canned/frozen item, and cook more from scratch. I’m reluctant to say this because it sounds incredulous, but… the breakfast was as good or better than any of the local breakfast spots I’ve been to here in the last few months. Yes, I said it. I couldn’t believe it either. Now just to make sure I wasn’t delusional or that this wasn’t a fluke visit, I went back twice, taking people with me. Sure enough everything was very good. . I gets ever weirder though. The breakfast price is cheap. On a weekday, it was about $ 9 total which includes coffee and fruit juices. I had to think this over, because I never get away from breakfast for $ 9 total. Well, I guess that is why the place is packed every morning. There were a couple things that were only so so, like the muffins, but the rest was great. Way too many things to mention. We tried: chicken fried steak and it was t4 tender and flavorful, fresh fruit on the fully stocked salad bar was delish. Biscuits and gravy(both country and chipped beef) were tasty too. They also serve steak at breakfast. They also have both fried chicken AND waffles if you want that combo. Omelets, fried eggs and waffles are fresh made to order, and you cant beat that. I can’t believe I’m giving them: 4STARS If you feel this review was Useful, Funny, or Cool, please click the buttons below. Thanks

Food was good, waitress was very nice but the jerk cutting the meat was very rude to both my 80 yr old mother and me. Almost on a personal level, and made us both uncomfortable. Would not go back.

This is one of the best Golden Corrals we have ever been to. The selection is not the largest we have been to. But the choices and the quality is very good!

Very dissapointed! Have been coming here for 8 years never a problem! But on this day for breakfast! I approached the omelet station there was one lady in front of me I stood there and waited for him to finish with her! When he was done with her I waited while he wiped out every dish he took his time folded the towel he looked at me by this time another man got in line he looked at him and asked him what can I do for you I said hey I’ve been here he said no he was here first! I said I was behind the lady no one else was here he turned and looked at the man and told him I’m so sorry and he looked at me right in my face and hatefully said no problem here! And asked what do you want! I Replied«I don’t want s*** from you» he said excuse me so I repeated it he looks at the other man and says I’ll have to pray for him I told him not to pray for me he didn’t look like he was the praying type and that he was still full of s*** he kept right on telling the other customers I fixed my plate with what was on the line and started my breakfast When the manager walked by him he pointed at me and said that I cussed him and he did not appreciate it so I told the manager he was an a****** and I didn’t care what he says believe me after 8 years I will never be there for breakfast again never this man is rude condescending and just downright hateful I’ve heard him insult other people before! But at the end of the day I see why he can’t get another job! Flip them eggs rude old man! Other than breakfast I will still go for lunch and dinner it’s one of my favorite places the servers and management are always so friendly! And the food is great!

It’s a buffet. I think it’s priced a little high, but buffets tend to be more than other places. The selection was huge, which is a plus. Everyone in the family can have whatever they want. The deserts are plentiful, and who can resist cotton candy? Not my 6 year old, that’s for sure. Service was a little slow, drink refills and such. It was a busy dinner time when we went, maybe a few more staff would have helped. Overall, it was okay. I’m not sure I’d make a special point to stop by again, but if it comes down to this or fast food, I’d pick this for the variety alone.

Been here many times, and there’s never been a time where I’ve just been completely disappointed. A couple small disappointments here and there, but nothing major. One small one that’s happened more than once though: macaroni and potato salad being room temp and not cold. Not wanting to get food poisoning, I just stopped getting it. But waitstaff is always nice and attentive, and the dinner rolls are absolutely amazing when the mashed potatoes are on it :)

The senior«early bird» special from 1 – 4 mon-fri is the best bargain around! The whole buffet AND your drink for $ 7.49!!! The salads, fruits and veggies are always fresh! This is our favorite Prescott restaurant and we usually skip dessert.

There are occasions where I have to eat at the trough, but these days it’s only because I am going along for the ride with someone who doesn’t understand self respect. But make no mistake, I’m not a snob when it comes to the«gettin’ my plate on» sumo-style. I’m a realist, and I keep my expectations low. Even so, I simply can’t abide the gasrtronomical abuse delivered at this Golden Corral. First off, let’s clarify something: THISISNOT A $ RESTAURANT It’s $ 15 American for 1 adult dinner with a beverage. That’s FIFTEENDOLLARS… Plus you’ll need to throw a couple of pity dollars on the table for your«server.» Now, there are some survival tips I’ve learned about eating here over the years, and that is that there are a *few* things that are OK, and if you stick to those, you’ll be able to assemble a basic edible meal. I’ll share those with you. The Salad Bar is the best example. Avoid the prepared salads, and you can build yourself an acceptible chef’s salad. The clam chowder, as long as it’s fresh, is ok. So are the dinner rolls. The steak is hit or miss. It’s a low quality sirloin cut that is enhanced with favor agents and tenderizer. If your carver speaks English, and you can get a rare or mid rare peace, you’ll be OK. But be warned, they ration it out a little chunk at a time. The mashed potatoes are usually good, and the food service brown gravy will do to add a bit of flavor. If you’re lucky, there may be some fresh broccoli, too. Stay away from the far end of the dessert bar where the ice cream is, as well as the chocolate fountain. Unless the thought of the dirtly little hands of all the unsupervised finger-licking-nose-picking kids, and the mouth droppings of all the unsupervised, blue-haired, eat-a-spoonful-over-the-serving-bowl grandparents doesn’t spoil your appetite. In general, the fudge brownies and chocolate chips cookies are decent. Most of the rest of all the food is simply flavorless, under seasoned, overcooked, low end, food service swill that is nowhere nearly as good as my grade school cafeteria lunches were.(God bless the Lunch Ladies of yesteryear!) So… even if you eek out a reasonable plate of food, you are still down $ 15. That’s $ 3 more that the basic sirloin steak dinner and beverage at the Texas Roadhouse. I mean is anybody doing the math before they come here? And if it’s the sheer VOLUME of food comsumption that draws you here, I challenge you or anyone to try to eat 2 complete Chipotle Burritos, with beverage, all in one sittingright – there’s your $ 15 feedbag, and frankly, you won’t feel nearly as ashamed of yourself in the morning.

We like this place although we do call it «the Trough». They really do a good job. Prime rib on Saturday night is good. Steaks are worth a try. Every other try is good. Tonite I tried big shrimp(?). Very good Awesome Pot Roast is Awesome! Good job. Good price. Clean enough Best of show? Chocolate fudge is the best. Chocolate Shell on mint chocolate chip ice cream a close second. I eat here and still maintain a BMI of 18.5. They must be doing something right!

I’m going to be honest: I had low expectations to begin with. Those were thoroughly met. To start, the prices are a little misleading, and it appears to be intentionally so. Fine print says that there are no «lunch prices» on the weekend, but I didn’t realize that until after we’d paid. No big problem, that was my fault, but the rest… ugh. The food looks, for the most part, like low-quality slop. It looks that way because it generally is. Most of what was out looked inedible or old. With the exception of the steaks(which were cooked fairly well, actually), most of the food looked like something out of a school cafeteria. Low-quality meats slathered with barbecue sauce. Mac n cheese with a film of gross across the top. Poorly-fried foods of every type. Not to mention the crowd is something out of a Walmart nightmare. I swear, it was exactly what I expected. Old people gumming away at their food; families with screaming children; lots of people with really ill-fitting clothing. And packed in like sardines. No privacy whatsoever at any table in the place. You’re nearly rubbing elbows with the next table over, no matter where you sit. Servers were decent; most appeared friendly at the least, and ours was quick to clear away plates and get refills, so there’s that. But it’s an all-you-can-eat buffet. You get way you pay for.

Food was good and they had a lot of choices, but the price was a bit too high for cafeteria style food. The mashed potatoes were excellent when you can get some, as the tray seemed always empty with the line waiting for just the mashed potatoes. I think overall, unless you have a big appetite, it’s too pricey to recommend this restaurant.

I always ate at these places growing up after playing football or lacrosse. Food isn’t great, but well worth what you paid for, and lots to choose from. Prescott location very clean, and well organized, but didn’t have strawberry soda!
