The reviews are accurate! Awesome place! Food is amazing, and the view is gorgeous! I highly recommend the red potato salad!

I’ve yet to have something I don’t like at Blue Spoon Café. The Friday fish fry is a good deal for the amount of food you get. Only downside is that service can be a little slow, even on not-so busy nights. But it’s worth the wait!

So here is a place that is just not like the rest. One of those hidden gems if you will. A place you stop on a weekend drive, that you are willing to travel 30+ miles just to eat at. That is what my family and I did this past Monday. We have eaten here in the past but it has been way too long. Thier food is wonderful, made with a dash of love. You can tell they take pride in what they do. It shows! My son had the 2 piece baked cod with mashed potatoes and coleslaw sides. Yummy. My wife had the roasted shrimp corn chowder soup as an appitizer and the Sante fe Chicken sandwich. The BAKEDBEANS were the best thing I ate all day. Probably the best beans I have ever had. They were so rich and flavorful. They had applesauce taste to them. Mmmmmm… I ate thier lobster Mac-N-cheese which was out of this world served with a sweet cornbread roll. Friendly staff, amazing views from all thier deck seating, multi level resturant inside and outdoor seating. It overlooks the water and is great for children. They serve wine and beer. You can even purchase wine or goodies to take home with you. They have a bakery that has rolls, treats and Gelato. For those of you who don’t know gelato is like a creamy, savory fresh ice cream. Keep up the good work Blue Spoon! It is always a treat when we get to stop here. Locals should be proud to have a place like this right down the road.

Delicious salads and friendly staff. Scrumptious lattes. Amazing views of the river. Can’t wait to come back! Culvers, when are you going to open more of these blue spoon cafes?!

A mom and pop version of Culver’s. Outstanding food with an adorable atmosphere. I had the white cheddar mac n cheese and my husband had the mushroom burger. The food was well seasoned, made in perfect portion sizes, and very filling. A cute little place to stop for a great bite. We will definitely be back.

This my favorite spot to eat inSauk City! Everything I’ve tried has been stellar and fresh. You order deli style, don’t be discouraged at the long line. They have lots of room to find a table. Staff is friendly and service is quick.

I got the impression this is the most popular restaurant in Prairie du Sac. The menu is overwhelming only in the sense that everything sounds delicious. Going with the idea that Wisconsin cheese is delicious, I got myself the daily special, «Glorious Grilled Cheese» with a tomato/red pepper soup. It was one awesome grilled cheese on quality, crispy sourdough bread. The soup was also top notch. I left with the impression that I could eat here every day of the week and not get tired of the menu, and by the looks of it, that’s what most of the town is doing.

Came here for the first time with my grandparents last week and had no idea what to expect. When we got there I was amazed and the variety of menu choices, especially the variety of vegetarian options for me. There was so many items I wanted to try that I wish I had the stomach to eat all of it. The man at the front counter was friendly when we took our order, he wasn’t too helpful with us making our decision in what to eat, he kind of stood around talking to another employee until we finally said something to order. Later another employee came by and took our plates which was very much appreciated. I had a black bean burger with a bag of chips, a pickle, and a soda. Let’s start with the soda because I went up to get the Dr. Pepper and it was out of syrup, same with the root beer, I had to ask for someone to go change those out. But the rest of the food was fantastic, I probably at that burger in under a minute it was so good. After my meal I went back up for some gelato, there is a wide variety of choices that makes you want to try them all, it was very filling and the small bowl was just enough. Overall, this is a place I will definitely come back to and will bring my friends when they’re in town. The food was excellent and I’m exciting to try more!

Culver’s take on «finer» dining. Menu variety is quite uninspiring, but the execution of their items is acceptable. Ordering process is a bit goofy.(It is essentially the same ordering process as Culver’s but charge«finer» dining prices.) Do have an assortment of «local» wisconsin wine and beer, which is nice. Nice view in the outdoor seating area in the summer.

My 6 lovely ladies and I stopped here on our way to the winery and distillery. When we walked in, we were enamored with the wide menu selection. They have breakfast, soup, salads, sandwiches, burgers and quesadillas. We were able to secure a patio table outside on the top floor facing the Wisconsin River. I finally decided on the caramelized onion burger. IT came with blue, swiss, and cheddar cheese atop a charred crisp, thick slice of sweet red onion, and chopped bacon. The bun was remarkable, sweet and doughy. The burger was about ½″ thick, and flowing with juicy succulence. Blue Spoon is the glitzy sister of Culver’s franchise, and that explains why the burger was exceptional as well as reminiscently familiar. Tip: for the best view, there are lounge chairs below the large, main patio that will garner you a greater vista of the river!

The hot chocolate was amazing. However… The young lady working was not very friendly, you could to tell she was not happy about working. I first asked if they had a password for wifi, because the free wifi was not showing up. She said no, and did not even care to go the extra mile to tell me they had free wifi. Asked to sample the gelato, she did not seem happy about that.

Perfect spot for lunch on your way to the Dells or Devils Lake. Very friendly staff and clean welcoming interior. They have a whole section of local wine for sale if that’s part of your agenda for the day. We ordered a big burger and a Reuben. The burger was really to large to pick up which is an annoying byproduct of some Wisconsin restaurants. But it was tasty and grilled perfectly. The Reuben was somewhat plain but still hearty. The accompanying pickle seemed flat. Sides of quinoa and baked beans were both appealing and satisfying.

Wow. So disappointing. I’d been wanting to get up to the Blue Spoon in P du S ever since the branch in Middleton closed.(I had a very good pulled pork quesadilla there back when.) So on a lovely fall afternoon, with an eye toward catching the last of the autumn color, we drove up for lunch. Now, I knew going in that the place is owned by Culver’s. But what I didn’t really expect was to place my order at a counter and carry a number to a table(just like I would at a Culver’s) — and to pay a premium for the privilege. This place is expensive! We ordered a couple of things to share — lobster mac-n-cheese and a roast beef sandwich. Yes, lobster is expensive — and there was a decent amount of it. But the entrée wasn’t that big. And though the server cautioned that the plate was hot, but food on it wasn’t.(How does that happen, exactly?) The roast beef sandwich, likewise, had a nice portion of meat. But the sandwich(which we ordered on sourdough instead of the regular pretzel roll) didn’t bowl me over. The tomatoes were pale and flavorless.(I know — the season is over. But why have them if they aren’t going to be passable, at least?) And the horseradish sauce barely registered. What really chapped my hide is that this so-so lunch set me back $ 27. But wait — there’s more! Unlike at Culver’s, when you pay with a card, they have a tip line on the receipt. AND… there’s a tip jar at the register. A tip? For what?! For the same level of service you get at a fast food restaurant — including the right to bus your own table? That is some colossal nerve, right there. They won’t get me a second time.

I’ve been going here for years and most of the time I order catering to be delivered to the dam. Usually we get the sandwich platters or the box lunches. They box lunches are great because they give chips, a pickle and a cookie in each one. There food is of extremely high quality and their menu offers classics with a twist. My favorite sandwich is the ham on a pretzel roll and the Chocolate chip cookie. Their delivery has always been punctual and accurate. They even catered the 100th anniversary of the dam in 2014 and did an excellent job. When I’ve eaten there the food is always made fresh and excellent. The only bad experience I had was when I ordered a pizza and it came out much later than my companions food and it was wrong. Ideally I prefer to go to restaurants where they serve you fully(take your order, bring drinks and refills, etc) so that’s why if I have time to eat lunch out I don’t usually come to the blue spoon but I’d highly recommend it to anyone passing through Prairie du Sac for a great lunch. I’ve never had their breakfast so I can’t speak to that but I’m sure it’s good as the rest of their food is.

Our family decided to stop for a quick bite to eat on our way to Wollersheim Winery, and originally intended to find a good casual burger/sandwich joint on the waterfront in Madison. While I’m sure one exists(recs please!), the ones that I looked at were all 2 – 3 starred, so we decided to pass. Then I looked up in the area of the winery, and there was Blue Spoon with its solid 4.5 rating. We relaxed on the patio and enjoyed their burrata — a little less creamy than I’m used to, but still delicious with ripe tomatoes, basil, olive oil, and fresh cracked black pepper. Then we split the grilled shrimp salad(a great blend of avocado, feta, pecans, and grilled shrimp with a bold flavorful dressing), and the prosciutto euro(perfection — pesto, mozz, prosciutto, tomato, and balsamic on a soft ciabatta bun). The scenery was beautiful from the patio, the food was great, and the price was super reasonable. Will definitely return when in the area!

This place is truly a must stop if you’re anywhere in the area. The food is good, not extraordinary but not plain. They have a good variety of apps, kids meals, pastas, burgers and sandwiches. The service is quick and friendly. The outdoor seating is where this place really shines. They have a 3 tiered deck leading down to ground level, views of the river and beach, comfortable seating with the perfect mix of sun and shade. I could sit out there everyday. This place would be a great stop for anyone.

If you cannot tell by the name, this place is owned by the Culver family. It’s next to Culver Library, if that’s a hint for you. I love Culver’s, and this little café is no exception. It’s my friend’s favorite local café in her hometown. We’ve had coffee here on several occasions and even celebrated her bridal shower here. The service is great. The food is solid. Coffee is strong. The view of the river from the patio is beautiful. It’s not a place I come to often, but it has yet to disappoint.

This is an absolute gem in the hometown of the Culver’s headquarters. It’s a more upscale restaurant owned by the same family. You order at the counter and they bring food to you. Food is solid, with some healthy options. There is an impressive wine selection and many flavors of gelato(not the famous Culver’s frozen custard). It’s the half way point of a 60 mile bike ride we do from our house, so the perfect place to stop for lunch. There is lovely outdoor seating on a multi-layer deck overlooking the Wisconsin River. You might even catch a glimpse of a bald eagle while you’re there! Overall, the food is a 3.5−4 star rating and the location and ambiance are a firm 5, so I’m giving it 4 stars.
