My wife loves Mexican food, therefore I tolerate it. We me here for lunch last week, and I must say it was great! There are only 1 or 2 Mexican restaurants to which I go willingly and this is now at he top. EVERYTHING from the quick and attentive service to the tasty chips and salsa was wonderful. The chile relleno was better than any I’ve ever had; more like a delicious Mexican stuffed pepper than the usual flavorless pepper drowned in cheese to cover the lack of flavor. We will definitely return this restaurant. I may even suggest Mexican without being asked…

Wonderful homemade Mexican food! We were staying at a motel down the street and felt like Mexican food. What a great surprise to find food of this quality! Starting with great salsa with a nice kick, we had the Chili Verde and the Burrito Macho. Both fabulous. The drinks were HUGE. Great value for the price but we would have gladly paid more for food of this quality.

The food was acceptable and pretty standard for this type of Mexican restaurant. The service was less than stellar. Our server basically just put the plates on the table with a half-​hearted attempt to determine who they belonged to even though they were very hot. And even though I asked for a tamale, it was never delivered and did not appear on the check. Judging by the conversations at the register, mistakes are a common occurrence.

My classmates and I were pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of the food at El Sureno. I enjoyed my Tex Mex quesadilla after we randomly stopped here on the drive back from Atlanta. It was relatively inexpensive, a boatload of chips and mildly spicy salsa were constantly refilled, and pleasant company made for an overall good experience.
