My wife and I didn’t want to drive all the way to Hiram for calzones at mellow mushroom and decided on Loma’s. It was definitely a fitting substitute. I had the Stromboli and she had the calzone. Both were very good. I wasn’t a very big fan of their«hot» wings though.

This was my first visit to Loma Pizzeria and I have mixed feelings. I ordered the 24″ Mama Mia pizza since my wife likes meatballs on it. After a short wait the pizza showed and it was so hot we had to wait to take our first bite, after we bit into it we all looked at each other and thought it was just OK. For $ 39.99 for this pizza, I figured it had half an onion, half a green pepper and 2 meatballs to cover this mammoth of a pizza. My kids got a meatball appetizer and it had 4 giant meatballs in a bowl of sauce as well as the kids cheese pizza. The drinks are self serve with limited selection of Coke products. Due to the high price of the pizza and in my opinion lack of toppings, I with think twice about returning. Service was good.

We ate there today(02-21-2013) recommended by some one else and was extremely pleased and satisfied. The pizza, service, and décor was perfect. We observed all staff would wash and dry hands before making any orders. The food we ordered was wonderful and there were others who had come in placing orders talking about how great their food is. We met the owner John and some of the other staff, John is there 90%+ of the time and interacts with customers. We rate this place five stars and thumbs up. From Pop&Mom Swepson, moved to Georgia from Tampa FL.

Ordered delivery on December 29th. Pizza was delivered hot and in a timely manner. Ingredients tasted fresh(margarita pizza) and dough was great. The cannolis we had for dessert were fresh and authentic.

This is bar none the best pizza around. In stark contrast to Johnny’s, this crust is soft and thin, somewhat sweet. The sauce was also unique. The pricing is competetive with any other pizza establishment. I ordered carry-out, and the wait time was an appropriate 20 minutes and the food was ready upon arrival. If you’re looking for authentic Northern style pizza this is as close as you’ll get. If not, then I guess settle for the Dough-ey pizza with low quality cheese that you get at the big chains and local competition like Johnny’s and Mellow Mushroom.

Based on one visit, I really like this place. This is a casual neighborhood pizzeria, but had more tables and booths inside than I expected. The Loma Salad is great — very fresh and crunchy lettuce, grape tomatoes, black olives, fresh mushrooms, and some grated mozzarella. The large is entrée sized, and is what I got. Loved it. The garlic bread appetizer was good but not amazing — it looked essentially like a sandwich roll, cut in half, covered with garlic butter, and toasted. It did come with some good, thick, marinara for dipping, which was nice. This is a very casual place. You order at the counter and pay and they bring you your food. The young folks working there were helpful and friendly.

Stopped by one Saturday on my way from work to grab lunch for the wife and I. Had been here before when it was Cangelois’s and when it was Pomarico’s, both had great calzones. This place just opened 2 weeks ago. The service was good but the calzones were not. They lacked the basic ingredients like cheese and meat. I even ordered extra meat. Way too expensive for what i got. Very disappointed and will not be going back

This location in a small strip center in Powder Springs(in front of Home Depot) is now entering it’s third incarnation since the building went up. At first it was Cangelosi’s restaurant which tried to be more of a full menu Italian restaurant, but with unfortunately somewhat of a sandwich shop atmosphere. The owner decided to leave the restaurant business and sold it to two NYC brothers who named it Pomarico’s, who upped the décor a small notch, but unfortunately upped some of the prices as well, while food quality and service over a period of time suffered. In-family fighting caused Pomarico’s to suddenly shut down in early Summer of 2012. Enter now — Loma’s Pizzeria. The new owners of Loma Pizzeria are John and Morgan, local Powder Springs residents with restaurant experience. He is originally from Philadelphia, and she from Pittsburgh. After some basic renovations and a big«toning down» of the menu and style of the restaurant, the newest incarnation opened it’s doors on 8÷1÷2012. Focus now is on Pizza(duh) and sandwiches, with a few other menu items added in such as salads, Calzones, Strombolis, and flavored Italian Ice, among a few other items. Pizza is sold by the slice, or in sizes that range from 14 to 18 inches, with a variety of toppings(including Feta Cheese — YES!). Prices are more moderate than the last two incarnations of this location, and it’s a more casual atmosphere as well. I actually went on opening day(something I usually don’t do), and there was a line going out the door of people waiting to place orders at the counter — I chalk this up to the sheer number of people who were waiting for this place to open again, more than slow service; they were actually fairly speedy considering it was opening day. There is a large chalkboard menu above the counter/bar area, and at least on that say, the system was that you go up to the counter to place your order, and then find a seat wherever you like at one of the tables or booths. Get your own drink, etc. When the food was ready, I noticed staff actually taking it out to the customers if the customer wasn’t standing near the counter to get hit themselves. I’m not sure if this was the initial setup only for opening or if this is permanent, but if it is this means it’s more of a faster food style setup instead of a full service sit-down style, but considering the casual nature of the place, that’s fine for most people. I ordered two slices of pizza with a variety of toppings. The slices were very large, nice, and thin. My only one gripe might be that the toppings were sort of clumped in the center of the slice instead of being evenly spread out, but again, this WAS opening day and all, so I’m not going to take off points for that by any means. It tasted very good which is what matters most. A week later we ordered a pizza to go and it was incredibly good… with enough cheese to plug up a dam(which is good). LOL. Another menu try with the Italian Hoagie was good as well. Nicely put together, good size for the price, etc. Note — chips come with these, and as far as I know they don’t serve fries at all, but Tater Tots are on their menu if you’re into those. I’ll update things as I get a chance to try out more from their menu and they settle down a bit. For now, they seem to have good heads on their shoulders about what they’re doing, and seem to be getting much if not most of it right. Best of luck to them, and always remember to support your local businesses!
