I do know if the cook was having an off day but I ordered the pork adobo and I am sorry to say it was the worst adobo I have ever tasted.

If you want to remember anything about this place, just remember these 4 words: Salt and Pepper Wings I’m not sure how my Lola found this place, but ever since she did, my family and friends have been obsessed with their salt and pepper wings. We usually get them catered. This last Sunday we decided to just go in to grab some and we got the last dozen, so be forewarned about this if you’re just going in for a combination plate. Lumpia house doesn’t have as much variety in food available to eat as Orient Valley — in fact, I’m inclined to believe that they’re more of a catering company for Filipino food based on their menu. My family has never had issues with their catering services — we just place the order a day ahead and pick it up before the party. However, if you’re going in for a combination plate lunch, you might not have a ton of selection. They seem to make everything fresh and in house — I asked if they had some siopao, but it wouldn’t be ready until the afternoon because they were proofing the dough. This makes me want to go back and try it someday. I’ll probably call ahead to make sure it’s available though. Back to the salt and pepper wings — Lumpia House has somehow magicked their wings to stay eternally crispy and be perfectly salty, spicy, and delicious. These wings do tend to be on the oily side of wings, but they are so good with a side of rice. It’s almost like eating lechon, but in wing form. We also got some chicken adobo to go, which was a very generous portion. It didn’t have a lot of vinegar, but still very tasty and went well with hot rice(I love rice). Lumpia House is definitely a great place to go for your Filipino party catering needs and have a lot of snacks on the side wall available as well.

Haven’t tried the food yet because, well… it wasn’t ready. Let me explain… Came here on a weekend morning to grab some breakfast. Never been here, but I was hoping they had some tocilog or longsilog or something like that. I got there a little after 10(which is when they were supposed to open) and they were still closed. I waited around for a bit and the door opened. By this time it’s about 10:20. I was about to walk in but they had a bunch of platters of desserts on the tables so it looked like they were still setting up. I decided to wait until they were ready. At almost 10:30 I walked up to the door and asked if they were open as they continued to prep the food on the tables. They asked me what I was looking for. I was a bit confused by the question. I mean, I was looking for… food. But before I could answer they said, «none of the hot food is ready and all we have are desserts. Come back later.» Sooooo 30 minutes after you open you have no hot food ready, you still look closed, all the tables are occupied with trays of desserts and I’m supposed to come back? And even if you did have hot food, where the heck was I supposed to sit and eat it? Yeah, I don’t think so. Buh-bye!

I feel bad only putting 1 star, but the food wasn’t even«meh». First time there… got there at 11:30 on my lunch break and there was only 4 items to choose from(pork adobo, pork steak with onions, and some veggies) including their very small and skinny lumpias. She said we were early and the«other» items wouldn’t be ready until much later; she didn’t give me a time. Bottom line — food was mediocre and you prob shouldn’t go there until way after lunch time.

I’m my opinion this is the best Filipino restaurants in San Diego. The lechon is on point. I can’t express how great the food taste. I wish I could eat there every day. Don’t bother going anywhere else.

Happened to see this spot after taking my dog to Dr. Bob(Best Friends Vet Hospital) and it gave me a craving for lumpia. The bf went in to grab 2-dozen lumpia(only $ 5/dozen!) for us to snack on. He said they were nice and the place was clean. I like the convenience and price of the grab-n-go lumpia, but… you get what you pay for. Lumpia wasn’t hot, it was probably fried up a few hours ago. I’d probably go back to try some of their other fare, but based on the lumpia, I don’t think this will be a destination food spot for me.

Only Filipino food joint in the area, that is unless you want to drive down Ted Williams Pkwy or 15 south to Mira Mesa. The food is so-so, not much of a selection and looks like its been sitting there the whole day. I’ve walked in a few times to grab dinner but left empty handed either because of the lack of selection or the food just didn’t look very appetizing. Take your time and go somewhere else. Very Sub par Pinoy food. Disappointing.

They serve an it’ll-do-for-now kind of Filipino food. It’s the closest Filipino restaurant to my work so I go here when I need a fix. They are not excessively bad, however, it’s not the kind of restaurant I’d go out of my way to eat at.

The food is authentic, inexpensive, and good. My son and I enjoy the pancit and the lumpia every time. They also have a variety of Filipino beverages, snacks, and fruits for purchase. The downsides are no public restrooms and no AC. We would eat-in more frequently vs. our usual take-out orders if the dining room was more comfortable. The staff is pleasant, helpful, and quick. Overall, I give 3 stars.

Came in here for a Filipino food lunch fix and in Poway of all places. I got the pork adobo, pancit, and sisig. I thought all dishes were pretty good, adobo was hot and tasted fresh. It was my first time having sisig and I thought it was pretty decent and pancit was good too. Easy place to drive by. Thanks to Unilocal for leading me here, I had no clue there was a Filipino restaurant in Poway, didn’t even know there were Filipinos in Poway. Too bad people will pass by here and eat at Carl’s Jr, how boring…

Disappointing. No restrooms(EVEN for paying customers), no AC, no music or TV. If you want to wash your hands before eating like a normal person, they tell you to walk to the nearby Carl’s Jr or the Starbucks. It is also as hot as the Philippines in there! Maybe that’s the tropical feel they’re going for but its certainly not for me. They have ceiling fans blowing hot hair around and that’s about it. The food is nothing special. It’s so poorly lit in there that you can’t see what they have anyway. The cashier was a little«suplada» on top of it. Maybe she was hot too lol. Either way. I will not be going back.

I had a hankering for homeland food and I was in the area, so I thought I would hop in for a quick meal. Chicken adobo was days old and not good. Chicken wings had no flavor, even the rice tasted old. I could only get through about half my meal before tossing it and feeling icky. I even threw out the box calamansi juice for tasting bad! It was a waste of my $ 11 and I needed a mint to mask the taste in my mouth. I am sorry to say, but this is place is a Must Stay Away. You have been warned

Okay this is the first time I spotted this tiny little philipino joint & I drive past this quaint shopping center all the time literally minimum 15 to 20 times a week. How blind can I be. It’s in between a cleaners and some random shop to the left. From pomerado road it is tucked behind the view of the lovely mobile station if heading north, almost impossible to spot from the street. None the less when I spotted it I knew I had to try it. Combo prices were simple: 1 item $ 6.99, 2 item $ 8.99, 3 item approx $ 11.99 I can’t fully remember the price of the 3 item because literally it’s enough food for 2 people easy. The 2 item combo I got was enough for me to gorge myself and still have lunch for two more days. I got pancit, but they have the option for rice or ½ of each. The pancit was average not too much flavor but still decent. The chicken adobo was not great; sauce was amazing, chicken was too dry. The lumpia was delicious and if you want to buy it alone they sell a dozen for 5 bucks :) Next time I will try the garlic chicken it seamed to be what everyone else was picking up. I wasn’t up on the secret and didn’t have the craving at the time. On a side note they have a tiny wall lined with groceries so I got dried bihon noodles to make my own pancit later this will

This place has one of the worst customer service. They made me feel like I was lucky to even try there food. There’s much better filipino food restaurants around San Diego. For a smaller filipino restaurant with just four selections for lunch that I expected better customer service. I ordered to go and I asked for spoon and fork. The owner told me to go grab your own across the room. Not worth coming back here.

Ok so i had time to kill before the kids got outta school and my target shopping trip made me suuuper hungry so i decided to stop in here for quick bite now regretting i did :(I ordered pancit lumpia longanisa pork adobo sisig and sinigang. All had just got done being cooked so i figured why not get it all how can i go wrong now discovering that everything had been recooked that’s where i went wrong :(The pancit had no flavor tasted like old noodle that had been sitting on a shelf forever the sisig wasn’t sour at all tasted like bell peppers and the longanisa was mushy and my lumpia was burnt :(My sinigang and adobo were in separate containers but after tasting the other stuff 1st i wasn’t motivated to try them. Im sorry to say but i dont think ill be returning.

It is not much here. Ordered munggo and longanisa. Munggo was saltayyyyy and longanisa was mushayyyy. I was hungry so I ate it anyway. I should have taken my time to get to Mira Mesa Blvd for a much better homeland food. They also charge $ 0.50 extra if you want sisig. I didn’t know pork is expensive in this side of town. For sure this is my last visit here. Ever. Ever. Everrrr.

We ordered take-out: lumpia and pancit. Both were good, not my favorite I’ve had but all was good that I’d go back if we were in the area and had a craving.

I really wanted to like this place, but it didn’t happen. Went here at 6pm on a Saturday night and all the food tasted like it was sitting there since lunchtime. Also, it felt like 90 degrees inside. They should install some type of cool ventilation system here. Lechon — soggy and not crispy. Sisig — soggy and not crispy. BBQ sticks — okay, but nothing special. Turon — stale and not crispy enough. I want to see my fellow Filipinos succeed, so if the owners are reading this then please make some changes for future customers. Try the pork sisig at Orient Valley in PQ(Friday-Sunday) and the turon at Desserts Plus(inside Seafood City in Mira Mesa).

Great desserts and looks like there’s a lot of choices. Young ladies were friendly but I was too full to try the food. I had the desserts and those were yummy. I will return to try the point point selections. Once I try the other delicious looking foods I will update my review.
