The guys from AC& J did a GREAT job! Aaron came by on a Monday, gave us a very reasonable estimate and they came by on Wednesday and completed the job in less than 6 hours. The guys that came were very professional and it was obvious they knew what they were doing. I highly recommend doing business with AC& J.

I recently had the guys at AC&J Flooring tear out my crusty old carpeting and install laminate floors in my house in Poway. HUGEUPGRADE. Looks 1000% better, is quiet and way easier to clean. The best part is that I didn’t have to hire a giant corporate company like Lowe’s or Home Depot. I almost made this mistake, luckily I didn’t. I saved time, money and got a much better product installed by some legit local pros who hooked me up right. I would definitely recommend AC&J flooring to anyone who needs new floors in the SOCAL area.

Last week AC&J installed beautiful 12 mm laminate in 2 of our bedrooms. They did an out standing job, and really quickly too! They were amazingly cooperative to work around the large pieces of furniture that would have been next to impossible for us to move before hand. The price was amazing too… way under the other bids we obtained. I would deal with these guys again in a heartbeat!

Reviews look good, however! Aaron came over gave me a estimate, we agreed on price. I called 3 times leaving messages he never my returned calls. He final picked up my call & we agreed on date to do the job(3-14-2015) the day came but Aaron did not. Aaron did not call show up and did not ever call to let me know what was going on. Very, very poor business practices.

Aaron came out to give an estimate right away after my first phone call. He had the best price and was up front about any potential additional costs. His crew was able to start work right away. We have a 2000 square foot single story house and every room was floored in 3 days. They work fast and with a very high quality of craftsmanship(I have very high standards). I have to add that I have 3 little boys and 2 dogs that were underfoot the entire time and the crew was so wonderful with them — kind and patient, really above and beyond. The house looks amazing and AC& J did an amazing job!

Update: Aaron pulls through once again for me. A piece of my laminate broke after a party and he arranged for it to be fixed. I am so happy with his service and commitment, I cannot praise him enough. Thank you Aaron, keep up the awesome work!

We had just moved in to our home and wanted new laminate installed in the dining room, kitchen, entry way, and laundry room. I went on craigslist and found AC& J and called Aaron. He came out very quickly and determined a very fair price, we proved the materials, and his crew installed our floor. Within days we had a leak under the kitchen sink, and all the flooring had to be removed and dryed out. Again we called Aaron to replace the laminate and add a tow kick(which his crew perfectly matched to our cabinets!), The work looks so professional, his crew was fast and really cleaned up after they were done(which means a lot!). Now we have some outdoor woodwork for him to do, and we are so happy to find out they do more than just flooring! We will use AC& J for anything and everything in their line of expertise!

I have to agree somewhat that there is a little bit of that finer touch and customer service missing but the workmanship of the installation was solid and the price was very good. So Aaron didn’t quite do as great a job with all the little niceties as maybe some of the others out there but I was happy with the quick installation and the workmanship overall. I’d use him again.

These guys did an incredible job on my home’s hardwood laminate flooring. Incredible! . Part 1: Their References AC& J Flooring emailed me a list of client references about 20 minutes after I requested it. I called EVERY person on that list. And EVERY person had nothing but great things to say about AC& J Flooring. One guy went on and on, and I politely told him that I had to leave to take my daughter to karate, but I guess he didn’t really hear me, as he kept giving kudos about AC& J including the nitty gritty details about his particular installation.(Zzzzz) In a sentence, I can summarize that AC&J has built a base of RAVINGFANS who absolutely love AC&J and love their new hardwood floors. . Part 2: Pricing For flooring installation, price is quoted«per square foot». Installation(the price of the labor only, not of the actual flooring) typically is a dollar something per square foot. After calling a bazillion flooring installers, I learned that most everyone’s pricing is similar. So, did I find a lower price-per-square foot than AC& J Flooring’s price? Yes, several. However, and this is important, none of those lower-priced guys could produce a state license number, or a list of client testimonials! Like everything in life, you get what you pay for. I know that a hunk of people reading this review will go for the lowest price, and in the end they’ll be sorry. They may end up with shotty work, long delays before job is finished, an uninsured installation company(be careful, if an uninsured worker gets hurt in your home, you can get sued!), and, an unlicensed company who is not concerned about having to answer to the state agencies and license boards. Okay, back to price. AC&J Flooring is not the cheapest of the bunch. And they’re not the most expensive. They pretty much fall smack dab in the middle.(actually, just a tad cheaper then average) But, like I said above, everyone who gave me a low quote could not produce a state license number for their business. So don’t just look at the cheapest! In fact, you’ll want to base your decision on whether they have happy clients, and how well they do the details(see below)… . Part 3: Workmanship Over the past 30 years I’ve hired carpenters, painters, carpet and hardflooring installers, you name it… and in virtually every case, they do good work overall, but are sloppy on some of the details.(and that really makes the job look terrible!) For example, in my last home there were two floor baseboard moudlings that met at a corner, and the cutting/details at the corner joint was terrible. When guests entered my home, they’d immediately see that sloppy work.(note, that was years ago, and is not related to the company I’m reviewing here) So just how good was AC& J Flooring with the«details» that make the difference between a mediocre-looking job and an awesome looking job? First know that I am a stickler for details. Okay so AC& J Flooring is at the end of the job, doing some last minute finishing touches and general cleaning up. So I grab my pad of paper, ready to make the list of items that need attention.(and I’m a pit bull when it comes to finding things that need correction) …But, and for the first time in my life, my dang pad of paper was blank! Completely blank. After doing a second walk thru, I wound up putting down one item, which actually was very minor… And here’s that minor item: The beautiful white baseboard floor moulding was installed with power nail guns. The nail holes are almost unnoticeable, about the width of the metal wire from a paper clip. And those holes get filled in with white caulking, which totally hides the holes. …So anyways, what I found was 2 nail holes that were not caulked. Let me repeat that: For my entire flooring job, all I could find was a measly two holes that needed caulking. I expected to fill up at least one page of my pad, with items that required attention/correction. However, I had NOTHING on my pad, so I had to resort to finding two uncaulked micro nail holes. Now that is what I call excellent work and attention to fine detail !!! . Part 4: Additional Notes I was amazed when they started the job early morning and wasted no time in removing the kitchen floor tile. This involved chisels and sledge hammers and power tools. The remainder of the flooring was carpeting, so the removal involved getting rid of the carpet and also removing the«tack strips» around the perimeter of the room. After everything was removed, where was just pure concrete(this was on ground level) however the concrete had many notches and small bumps.(even a pebble sized bump can prevent a wood board from laying down flat) So out came some really heavy duty floor sanders and prep equipment. In the end, they had the concrete floor as smooth as glass. I’m glad I got to see that. It was my first clue that AC& J does everything totally as it should be done, and to perfection.
