Great service and friendly atmosphere. I had to have two rings repaired and they did a perfect job at about a third the price of another jeweler with the initials BB in Silverdale. They have designed work for my friends and I know of none that has been unhappy with their work.

I have been to this wonderful store twice– each time for jewelry repair. With each visit, the staff has been courteous, attentive and knowledgeable. Both times the jewelry was ready early and the store called to let me know. On both occasions that I visited the store, I was dressed quite grubbily– in fact I had just returned from kayaking and my feet and calves had the sand from the beach to show it! If anyone cared or judged me for my attire they sure hid it well! I found their pricing very fair, the work of very high quality, and the staff very professional. I plan to return soon to have a custom ring made.

I went to Dahlquist’s to sell some old jewelry and have an earring repaired. They were unable to buy most of my jewelry because they don’t have a «real» jeweler on site(I’m quoting what the child working behind the counter told me.) They bought the gold and left me with the rest. The earring to be repaired was a pearl surrounded by diamonds. The pearl had come loose from the post. They said they could glue it back on. I went back to pick it up when the job was complete and brought the other half of the pair with me. I assumed that when they’d repaired the one earring they’d cleaned it, and the other one would need to be cleaned to match it. I’ve never cleaned these because I didn’t want to mess up the pearls, but the diamonds needed cleaning. They’d cleaned the one earring, so I was right. I asked the child behind the counter to clean the other earring, and he said he’d call the owner over. The man came over and said to me, «This is why we tell people to bring both earrings in.» I replied, «Well, only one was broken, so that’s why I only brought the one in, but I was hoping you could clean this other one, now.» He said, «This earring is going to fall apart, too. You should have brought them both in. I’ll clean it, but it’s going to come off.» Then he proceeded to try to take the pearl off my dirty earring. The one that hadn’t broken. The one I’d just brought in. He couldn’t take it off. He drove his nail under the pearl and tried a second time. It didn’t come off. My eyes got wider. He tried a third time, and managed to pop the pearl off. My jaw dropped. «What did you just do?!» I asked. «I told you it was going to come off,’ he said. «You just tried three separate times to pull that pearl off,» I said. «I saw you try three times.» He looked at me like I was nuts. «Are you kidding me,» he asked. «No, I’m not kidding. Why did you take off the pearl? All I asked you to do was clean my earring.» He told me he’d clean it anyway and put some glue on it, and then he went into the back, behind a glass window where customers can see the«jewelers» at work. I looked at the kid and said that the owner must have big balls to dismantle my jewelry right in front of me like that. He said that the earring would have fallen apart while being cleaned. I told him that it might have, but it also might not have, and there was no call for this guy to just pull it apart. He said that it definitely would have come apart, and they were saving it for me. In my opinion, they were looking to make 20 more dollars from me. I told him that I’m not a jewelry expert and they could have told me whatever they wanted, and how could I know any better. I’m pretty sure the owner just wanted to make more money. It’s weird for an establishment to money grub over $ 20, but that’s what it looked like. The owner came out, gave me the earring, and I said, «Sorry, but that’s not the way to establish trust with a new customer.» He looked at me and told me that he didn’t mind if I never came back. I told him he must have giant balls, simply enormous, and I left the store. As if I’d ever step foot in there again. Laughable. Don’t shop there. Don’t get your jewelry cleaned there. Don’t take things for repair there. They’re like a car repair shop. If you bring it in for one thing, chances are they’ll find out everything else that’s wrong with it. So they say. PS They say they buy old jewelry, but they really, really, really don’t. I tried. They buy gold, not jewelry. PPS in response to he owner’s remarks: There was no yelling. The owner has been notably rude to people based on their manner of dress, so I assume his method of dealing with me was based on the fact that that I entered his store in my winter jacket and jeans rather than my ball gown and mink stole. I asked for something to be cleaned. I was polite until the moment he purposefully dismantled my jewelry. I didn’t yell. I did make sure he knew I was upset. I will also happily recommend other jewelers to anyone who asks. A store can be voted Best of Anywhere, Anything. All it takes is to ask friends and family members to vote. That doesn’t mean that the store actually is the best. Or that the customer service is actually the best. It just means that they won a popularity contest.

A bit pretentious, stuck up staff. I was blown off several times, probably because they judged my wallet based on my attire. There are better places to go for your needs.

I had a ring custom made by Gary at Dahlquist Jewelers. The whole process was exciting, I gave Gary a request of what I was looking for and he hand selected my star sapphire when he went to the Tucson Gem Show. Then when he returned I was able to design my own ring! It was a great experience and now I have a beautiful family heirloom. The best part is, I know my ring is one of a kind. Thank you!

I recently came in to get my grandmother’s jewelry appraised to either sell or keep to hand down to my children. They were very courteous and helpful, and I love the adorable brown/black lab that greets you at the door. I will definitely come back for jewelry repair or to buy as their helpfulness and kindness left a lasting impression.

I come from a line of jewelers and worked in the jewelry industry, yet I never overcame the fear of walking into a jeweler alone. That was when I found DAHLQUIST, Richard and Garry. I had been to the gem show in Tucson, and came home with a cameo, some diamonds and an idea. That was when my friendship with Dahlquist began. I took my items in and explained I wanted to make a necklace/pin/enhancer and could Garry do this??? Out came the pen and pencil, and as he drew, the lines on the page became the beginning of the work of art.(You should see some of them in the store — they are framed and signed and truly are works of art.) With a couple of meetings, we finalized the idea, and the crafting began. The piece is a round, free form cameo, with [what looked to me] little balloons where I knew I wanted a diamond for each one, plus along the side. The stones along the side were fine because they got cast in the setting. However, the diamonds in each balloon was the trial. I even confirmed with the artist who made the piece [who lives in Germany] if the piece broke could he carve me another. No — it was a one of a kind. With that in mind, Garry searched valiantly for a way. He ended up drilling through the piece at each of the«balloons» [I am sure sweating bullets the entire time] and using a very small bit of gold tubing, set the diamonds in those. What resulted on the back was what looked like the leads on a computer chip, which is what I teach, so the meaning was just growing. Once the piece was done, they submitted it to IJO and Garry and his work took first place in its class. That was the first of several awards Garry would go on to earn. However this story was so special even to the end. When I finally went to pick up my piece, I was gifted with a double-photo frame, with the article from the local paper about Garry with a picture of the piece, the original rendering [which is art in itself] and a copy of the First Place Award. I was so touched and that is now a prized possession. That was when I fell in love with piece and the fun of designing. I have many custom pieces now thanks to Dahlquist, as does my family and he just finished an engagement ring for my best friend’s daughter in California. I began to understand the fear as I took more people in and observed. I know everyone there by name; their customer service is outstanding; working with Garry is a great experience and they NEVER make anyone feel stupid or a waste of time which was what I noticed with other jewelry stores. I could go on and on about how fantastic DAHLQUISTFINEJEWELERY is, and would love to do so, but I thought this story would be the best example for a review. Anyone I come in contact with who comments on my jewelry I tell them to go to Dahlquits and tell them I recommended them. The reports back have been great! I am a walking advertisement and I love it! My thanks to Richard, Garry, Grace, Sampson and Dahlquists Fine Jewelry for always making me feel welcome and unafraid!

I had a Movado Black Face watch for over 20 years… I wore it daily. Every single day. I loved my watch and miss it to this day. Dahlquist’s Jewelry replaced the leather band with a(what I now know) non-standard size, and sure enough, the watch dropped off my wrist during a trip from Seattle to Los Angeles. Ever try to contact lost and found at LAX or SFO? I still miss my watch. Darn those folks at Dahlquists!

I have always had great service here, informative and helpful. I stop in every year around my anniversary and have my rings checked and polished. The jewelry is top notch and there is not selling of anything you are not informed about(ie no selling you a crappy diamond you think is good quality) Never rushed, and always willing to educate me, i find it a great place for novice buyers and experienced collectors. Lots of variety for custom made items as well as specialty events, even found a charm for my Goddaughter. Not necessarily the cheapest(you can go to the mall for that) but you will always get what you pay for and get honest service and sales! Great for the man in your life who has no idea what hes looking for!

I stopped in here on a Tuesday to see about getting my wife’s engagement ring repaired. She’s pretty rough on her rings because she is an RN and also rides horses. She’s been bugging me for years to get her a new band that holds the diamond in more securely and won’t snag on stuff. I actually Googled this place on my iPhone and called them before arriving. I spoke to Grace on the phone and she very courteously said that they do the kind of work I was looking for. When I got there I was helped by the aformentioned Grace, who in person is just as helpful and courteous. She showed me gold bands that would get the job done, they have bezels around the rock to protect it. I then got the idea to maybe pick up a larger rock, because the one I bought my wife 19 years ago is kinda small. And the head jeweler there said it might be a cool idea to save the old diamond and turn it into earrings later. So long story short, my wife is getting a nice new ring with a larger rock, and she is keeping the old ring as a keepsake or project for later. The entire staff was very helpful and friendly, lending it a family run type of atmosphere. They even have a nice older dog named Sampson who kept me company while my ring was being assessed. Garry Thompson, their head jeweler, is an award winning jewelry designer and a nice guy too. He is a very good artist. Check out his work on their website. The store doesn’t look like much, since it’s part of a strip mall kind of deal. But inside it’s nice and really it’s the people and service that matter, right?
