Never disappoints! Fantastic selections, wonderful wood fired pizzas, tasty salads and entrees. Appetizers are delicious, especially the calamari(crispy and fresh), antipasto(enough for four!) is wonderful — especially when enjoyed with the fresh bread selection, bruschetta is delectable, and I could go on, and on! The service is always friendly and attentive — the atmosphere(newly designed) is tasteful and clean. So much fun on a warm evening to enjoy a game of Bocci Ball, and sip on a glass of wine outside on the patio! Nice gem of a restaurant, reasonably priced, great service and some of the best food in Dutchess County!

This place is always consistent, and delicious. I have been there when it was busy and not busy. Obviously the service is a bit slower when it gets busy but that is to be expected. The pizza is phenomenal and never disappoints. ALL of the salads are unique, tasty, and filling. The ambiance is great whether you are there for lunch or dinner. You can always count on this place to be great. It’s consistent, and that matters.

We had my good friend’s bridal shower at Cosimo’s this past weekend and I must say that it was hands down the best shower I have ever attended! The staff was very accommodating during the planning process. They suggested a family style affair and helped me to craft a menu that was a huge hit! They even created a signature drink for our event. The waitstaff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The food was outstanding, the drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was elegant and sophisticated. The private room is just perfect. They assisted us in getting the cake, which was as delicious as it was pretty. No detail was overlooked. Every guest thoroughly enjoyed their evening out. We have gotten tons positive feedback from our guests. We could not have been happier with our choice to book our party at Cosimo’s.

Food is always good and consistent! However I have never in my life witnessed such an immature group of wait staff. Snotty and clique like girls. The hostesses are so unwelcoming it’s almost comical. Again the food is almost worth the watching the drama

My wife and I had a delicious dinner here. When we showed up the place was packed, and yet we were seated extremely fast. Our orders were taken promptly and all the food and drinks arrived quickly. Everything was very delicious and tasted superb. Beer prices could be a little lower, but it’s expected for this type of restaurant — I just wouldn’t go here to watch a Sunday football game at the bar. Overall one of the best places to visit in Poughkeepsie.

Our go to place for a beer and Margareta pizza. Anything on the menu is good. We just like to relax at the bar and chat. Only downfall, which is good for Cozimos, Dont try to go in the evening. cant get a seat or its a long wait. Lunch time is the time to go to beat the crowd.

GREATATMOSPHERE! who would have thought this gem was nestled in the middle of no where?! I pass by this restaurant every day for work but never thought twice about eating here. It looked like another chain Italian restaurant like the Olive Garden. The cocktail was made perfectly, tomato spread bread with olive oil and balsamic dip was such a treat and the meal! i’ll be coming here once a month for my Italian fix. Most importantly, our waitress was so attentive and accommodating.

My husband and I have been going to Cosimo’s for a couple years now. He always gets the veal parmesan and I usually try a special or whatever the waitress suggests. Tonight’s visit was perfection. When the waitress came to our table I told her I was on a very strict diet so I would like some suggestions for dinner. She helped narrow down the choices and advised me what has been popular lately. My husband and I also wanted to share an appetizer and were thrilled there were some great options that can suit my dietary needs. I asked the waitress what a certain words meant on the menu and was excited she knew exactly how to pronounce it and what it was. I appreciate the time it took to train and understand the menu completely. We ended up feasting on his usual delicious veal parmesan($ 19) and I devoured«8 hour pork cacciatore»(great value at only $ 17 with a huge portion). We shared the stuffed portobello mushroom appetizer($ 10). This was nothing we expected but it was incredibly delicious. It was a balsamic marinated portobello mushroom grilled and stuffed with sauteed spinach and warm tomato bruschetta. I love that our waitress really took the time to help me and cared about what she does. Excellent customer service deserves to be shouted out. Our dinner out was not only delicious but it didn’t have to break my belt either.

Did a good job with dinner for a big group we had. Space in the back was perfect — gave us a little privacy — and service was excellent. We shared apps and several pizzas and several bottles of wine — all delicious and made for a nice relaxed casual evening.

My sister and I found Cosimo’s on Unilocal and stopped for dinner before heading back into NYC. I wish I lived in the area because I would definitely go back! Our charming server gave us helpful suggestions and everything was delicious. We shared the grilled portobello appetizer, fried polenta, roasted brussel sprouts and a sausage and chard dish with pasta. Highly recommend this place!

First time here and it definitely will not be our last. From appetizers to desert, everything was delicious, well cooked, good portions. In fact we got to take some of our leftover home. The décor is very modern, clean and fresh looking. Outdoor or indoor seating. Great location not too far from route 9.

I could not be more pleased with the service from Cosimo’s. In a mad panic, I called Toni Favata, the event manager, when my bartenders were unable to serve alcohol at my wedding reception. Which was three weeks away, on one of the four most coveted days in the year for wedding season — a Saturday in June! Toni was quick to respond to all my questions, gave me a quote almost right away, got the paperwork to my venue in a timely manner and was just a fantastic person to work with. Already I was impressed. On the actual day of the wedding(6÷6÷15), I was blown away. The bartenders set up the bar so efficiently and attractively, and were so kind and professional. When one of the bartenders saw I was stressing out about our music not working(the ipod and system was right near the bar), he said, «You get a BIG margarita!» and hooked me up without even asking. Our wedding was pretty large(about 137 of our expected 142 showed up) and a majority are my hard-drinking Irish Catholic family! Not an easy crowd to keep satisfied, since we really like to party… but Cosimo’s did it with flying colors. They broke down fast, were professional in their appearance and service, and made my wedding day fantastic. I recommend them highly and without any reservation!

Pros: Nice atmosphere and delicious food, I recommend the waffle fries with Gorgonzola dipping sauce. Nicely decorated and friendly staff. Clean establishment. Cons: Outdoor seating is located right on the side of route 9, so if you like the feeling of being stuck in traffic sit outside.

Update: gave this place another shot since the atmosphere is very nice, and this time the pizza was cooked through, not wet and doughy. Delicious!

We had a really great dinner here for a big group. The restaurant is quite large, and we sat at a high-top booth/table near the bar(it’s a little noisy here, but less so in the more ‘private’ rooms). The beer selection was certainly lacking(the menu mentioned local brews but the taps only reflected the biggies like Stella and Blue Moon, etc.), but the rest of the meal was great. I totally recommend the fried calamari and ‘mozzarella sticks,’ and the Caesar salad was actually awesome(fresh parmesan flakes and all). Entrees are standard Italian, but there’s plenty to choose from. My only other advice would be to stay away from the espresso and stick with coffee when you get dessert. My macchiato was a huge over-extracted shot of some really bitter hair-raising stuff, but that’s to be expected at a place where coffee isn’t the focus.

The most impressive thing about this place is that it is GINORMOUS! But the layout makes the back rooms feel quite cozy and intimate. The only downfall was that we sat near to the bar, which is on the louder side. Plus we had a HUGE screen right behind our table, which just adds to the distractions. I’d highly recommend the back rooms for your next get-together! Next time I go, I’m going to choose an appetizer to share and a HUGE caesar salad, which was easily the best part of the meal! I’m not saying that anything else was bad, the salad was just that good! Freshly sliced Parmesan cheese. Creamy caesar salad dressing. And fresh crunchy lettuce. Just solid. As a heads up, the pasta meals are easily enough for two, or one and leftovers!(That chicken penne looked quite nummy, I might give that a go next time!)

Cosimo’s is a surprisingly good Italian restaurant in Poughkeepsie. I guess the last time I was in Poughkeepsie did not leave me a good impression of its restaurant scene, but one can be proven wrong. There are several areas to the dining room to fit your party’s needs. We got a corner table that was relatively quiet even though there were several other groups in the same room. Our server was so nice and attentive, which made the entire experience pleasant. The food is not entirely inventive or creative, but flavors were nicely developed and ingredients seemed fresh. The meatball appetizer was delicious — very hearty and fulfilling. The only snag is that it was slightly cold in the center. The seafood pappardelle was very nice. Lots of big pieces of various shellfish and a nicely spiced tomato sauce. The pappardelle was slightly overcooked, so if you liked al dente, let your server know. There are a few housemade pastas, a definite treat if you like the ingredients that go along with them. The sausage one was very hearty and flavorful. And in contrast to the pappardelle, the pasta with this dish was very al dente. I had the veal milanese, and it was very good. The mashed potatoes were a bit much, but the meat was cooked very nicely and had lots of flavor.

Wow this is my first time back here since the new renovations and menu changes. The menu is actually perfect. Some great new additions include small rice balls as an appetizer and chicken francese as an entrée. These are a few of my favorite things. Beautiful restaurant and friendly staff. Great wines and great food. 5 stars easy.

The whole restaurant has gone through an amazing transformation. From décor to menu every thing has been redone. I just split with my friend the new pork chop. It is with no exaggeration 3 – 4 inches high. The flavor from the crust is to die for. Try it you will not be disappointed. We then also split the linguini with white clam sauce. An Italian staple and a great way to see if the chef knows what he or she is doing. It was perfection on a plate. My other friend had the snapper with a delicious red sauce and brussels sprouts cooked to perfection. Looking forward to playing bocce ball on the new court.
