Ordered to go from Chu today and disappointed doesn’t begin to cover my experience. They have a variety of noodle bowls to choose from that cost $ 10 each. I opted to add the pork belly to mine which was an additional $ 3. The rice noodle bowl I ordered is described as having fresh local vegetables, Bean sprouts, mushrooms, avocado, and cilantro. I specifically ordered this dish because it had the mushrooms. When I opened my container all that was there were bean sprouts, shredded carrots, and hunks of celery, with 2 small pieces of avocado. No mushrooms at all or any other vegetable. The only saving grace to the dish was the pork belly which was tasty. Don’t waste your money here it’s ridiculously over priced. Won’t be returning.

Popped in for a quick lunch, after it was recommended by our CA. I have been in the space before for a private event, before it was CHU. I’d give it a solid 3.5, but no half stars on Unilocal,so I rounded down. Space hasn’t changed much and they still hold private events in the back room which makes the layout feel a bit discombobulated. I like the open kitchen concept and it smelled really good inside. Sat at the bar, was greeted and had the menu and options explained, which was great, especially on a first visit. I love the look of the bar which glows because it’s lit from within! Speaking of the bar — you’ll find condiments — gluten-free soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, Korean BBQ sauce and a dry spice blend of chili sesame to add to any dish. Menu has 4 dumpling options, 3 – 4 other starters and about 5 noodles bowls on offer for $ 10. You can add a variety of toppings like pork belly or marinated soft boiled eggs for $ 3 each. Dumplings are all deep fried. I prefer steamed or pan fried, but that’s just me. My shrimp and scallion dumplings were served with a sweet chili dipping sauce. They were cooked well, but a bit too dense and bland, not my favorite. My Miso Ramen bowl was huge and came out piping hot with the broth still steaming. Loaded with fresh veggies, carrots, bok choy, bean sprouts, ramen, scallions and cilantro. Very flavorful! Bowl portions are HUGE, so you can easily make two meals of it. They kindly wrapped mine to-go. Because of the limited hours — Monday through Friday 11:30am to 2:30pm(website says 3pm) they are catering to an upscale lunch crowd in downtown Poughkeepsie, and I think the prices reflect that. Hubs loves spicy kimchi so I expect us to return, so he can try that. If you’re craving a noodle bowl during biz lunch hours in the area, hit them up, I’m sure you’d like it!
