In July, I was visiting Portsmouth and had an excellent reading from Valerie. I know that it was excellent because months later, I’m still considering things that she told me about my past patterns and how they impact the present.

So, if you’re looking to improve the fitness of your etheral body and expand your self-​awareness, then visit a psychic like Valerie to begin the work. If you’re looking to have your fortune told, then visit the Zoltar machine and insert a quarter.

My partner and I were strolling along the streets in Portsmouth where we encountered a sign for Psychic Readings by Valerie. We thought it looked fun so we decided to give it a try. We walked up a carpeted set of stairs to what looked like a floor full of typical apartments. There was a glass door with Valerie’s sign on it, so we made it to the right place, but the door was locked. We knocked and were greeted by a young woman wearing sweat pants and a tank top.
Now, maybe my expectations are just too darn high or maybe I’ve watched too many movies where robed women wearing turbans greet you and usher you into the psychic experience, but I found this to be a tad on the disappointing side. I mean, where’s the showmanship or pizazz? She listed off the prices of various psychic services, and we decided to stick with the $ 10 palm reading.
Here’s where we turn the awkward up a notch. I went in to the «psychic reading room» (which is really a small decorated room off the living room in what was clearly an standard apartment) while my partner waited outside… in the living room. I would say that I felt bad making him wait, but luckily he had company. He got to hang out with what I am assuming is Valerie’s husband and small child. He also got to watch some cartoons.
The actual palm reading was interesting and I felt like she really nailed a couple aspects of my life that I had been thinking about. It was a super short palm reading though and lasted about five minutes. I was informed that my chakras were not correctly aligned (what???) but for an additional fee she could help me line them up. I said no thank you. When my time was up my misaligned chakras (how embarrassing) and I switched places with my partner and awkwardly stood in the corner of the living room.
What I will say is that the experience was fun to talk about afterwards and we were definitely laughing all through lunch. It was also only $ 10, so all in all just an interesting experience. I think next time I’d choose a different psychic.

Simplified: do not waste your money. You go in and catch her off guard, I felt like we were inconveniencing her to give her $ 10 for a 2 minute palm reading… no, quick, 6 adjectives, she was done.
