LOVE LOVE LOVE Invidia Salon! From the moment you arrive until the moment you walk out you will thoroughly be pleased with your salon experience :-) Pat (the receptionist) is very friendly and great at booking appointments (she advised me to book several appointments in advance and that has been a huge help!). My stylist, Catarina, is amazing! I have extensions and she worked with me in transitioning from Babe extensions (not the greatest brand to be honest) to the far superior Cinderella extensions. I used to have to get my hair «re-​taped» every 6 weeks and now I can go as long as 3 months! She also introduced me to a shampoo and conditioner that is safe for extensions. She has a strong understanding of her body of work and always gives me great tips. She also colors my hair and of course I am thrilled with those results as well. She cut my daughter’s hair and it looks beautiful now. Easily the best haircut my daughter has ever had :-) I could not be happier!
*I am new to the area and was so lucky to find Invidia Salon. Aside from the awesome professional hair treatments, all the ladies here are so much fun to chat with and laugh with. I feel like family when I visit :-)

Invidia is about a 35 minute drive from my home but worth every minute of the drive. I am extremely anal about my hair and I drive there with confidence knowing that no matter who I have an appointment with (usually Catarina or Sherri) will do my hair not only exactly how I asked but better! Beyond that they have amazing spa services. Most recently I had the Invidia facial with Kerin as I was having a ton of hormonal breakouts. Since having my facial, my skin has cleared up tremendously and has no sign of breakout! I would trust no one but Invidia with my hair and skin!

I have been going to Invidia for many years and it has been a wonderful experience each and every time. The atmosphere is very positive and you can sense the high quality of all they have to offer right from the start. The staff is friendly and there is a great camaraderie between them which adds to the experience! I can’t end this without saying something specifically about Sherri. She is a professional, well-​trained, creative stylist who works magic! Truly, she has gone above and beyond for me more than once, something you won’t find everywhere. I absolutely would recommend the «Invidia Experience» to anyone and everyone who reads this!

I got an overpriced haircut that honestly looks like my two year old could have done. The layers are uneven and sloppy. Honestly, the worst haircut I’ve ever had in my entire life. I paid over $ 100 for the cut that I now have to pay someone to fix.

I am also a military spouse new to the area. My new neighbor recommended Stephanie at Invidia. Her hair looked great, so I thought– why not. I booked the appointment about a week in advance. The salon is very nice and as were all the staff members. Most of the stylists have been there since the salon opened, which speaks to me a lot about happy stylists are often good ones :) Stephanie gave me a great cut and suggested peek a boo highlights for my dark hair. I went with it and am happy with my new look. I am definitely going back to get a massage or a pedicure– about the same cost as going out to town– so why not!?!

I have only had one experience with Invidia, that was today when I was turned away from my appt. Had the situation been handled differently, I would not feel this review necessary. Essentially… I am a military wife who’s husband just deployed for a year so I felt that a relaxing spa treatment was in order. I followed Invidia’s online instructions on how to obtain an appt and patiently waited for my confirmation email. I recieved the email for my service early in the week and promtly arrived at the scheduled time today. The woman who approached me and asked for my name stated she could not find me anywhere in the appt book, I then showed her the confirmation email that INVIDIA sent me on my phone. I was then informed that another client was booked for my time slot just prior to my coming into the salon. Please keep in mind that not much empathy was involved in this exchange, except for the woman who was assisting me to say something regarding her not being there (which I assume has something to do with managing the appt book). She then left the room, came back and asked if I could come back later and the service would be discounted… never apologizing for the breakdown in the salon’s appt system. I was not only dissapointed in not recieving my service, lack of appropriate empathy, but I was also embarrassed as I was standing there in front of other patrons looking like I didnt know what I was talking about. The APPROPRIATE thing to do in matters like this would have been to ask me if I would like to reschedule at a later date and the service would have been PAID FOR, not discounted. I was treated rudely and there didnt seem to be much concern for what had happened. It is a shame that Invidia does not know how to right a wrong appropriately, they should have called the other client recently slotted for my time and asked HER to reschedule. Disgusting service and I WILL NOT be returning. I have never been treated like this at any salon I have been to. Never. My advice to future Invidia clients, dont use their online service and call and speak with someone directly so you dont get a sorry excuse that «someone wasnt in that week». Period.

I love Invidia. Pretty much all the stylists here are awesome. But make your appointment far in advance because they book up quickly!
UPDATE: They could not fit me in their schedule this week so I ordered my Goldwell products online and attempting a do it yourself color. Will update results.

As a military spouse, I usually dread the inevitable search for even just a decent salon at a new duty station — and I am so glad that I didn’t have to search long to find this stellar salon! Sherri was knowledgable, efficient, effortlessly friendly and only recommended a product when I mentioned a specific need, one that I didn’t even know there was a product for! (I can’t stand salons that try to push product just because, whether you need what they are selling or not — that was definitely not the case here, very refreshing!)

Normally I don’t go to just any ol’ place to get my beautiful hair worked on, but I decided I’d check Unilocal out and see what I could find by where I work.
After reading Lauren’s review, I was very interested in checking this place out, and I will say I wasn’t disappointed in the least bit! The Staff was pleasant, and Sherri aimed to please when cutting my hair. I will most certianly be heading back here again.

I couldn’t possibly say enough positive things to do Invidia justice! I’m from California, but I’ve been here on aquidneck island for almost 3 years now, and I’ve yet to find a hairstylist who measured up to my woman back home. And yet, 6 minutes away from my house, lay a hair junkies delight! A friend recommended me to the salon, and I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance. I was a bit wary, since the salon looked like it was in the downstairs of someones house, but lo and behold, it was the most beautiful salon I’ve stepped foot into in a long time. Stephanie did my hair, and what an awesome job she did. A heavy full foil cost me $ 120 (for shoulder length hair), and I gave her a $ 30 tip. $ 150 is sooooo much less than you would expect a salon that looks like this to cost. I don’t know how she did it, but I didn’t get my hair cut and yet she made it look like a whole new healthy, fresh style. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I would recommend both Invidia salon and spa and Stephanie to ANYONE looking for a hairstylist or salon. I think I’ll go back ASAP to try their various waxing services they offer, and a massage from Invidia might be my fiancé’s present from our dogs for fathers day!
