By far the best bike shop on the Seacoast! Whether you’re looking for a new bike or to have your existing bike serviced, you’ll find friendly and knowledgeable sales and service staff at Colonial Bicycle Company. AND, the coffee… oh. the coffee. Go in there and daydream about your next project one while sipping an espresso. Does it get any better?

What a great shop! This place understands and practices great customer service — which is sadly a rare thing in the world of bike shops. The staff are knowledgeable and informative and can help cyclist of all levels find what they need to «ride lots». The mechanics have worked on a number of my bikes and I have received nothing but top level service and well tuned bikes. I have referred many friends and associates to this shop for their cycling needs from parents looking for kids bikes to season cyclist looking for a quality shop for repairs — everyone reports back a fantastic experience. You can’t go wrong with Colonial Bike!

Used to love Trek until we took our bikes to be tuned up in Florida. Our bikes were built by the Trek shop in Portsmouth and they put the fork on my husband’s bike on backwards. We always thought there was something wrong! Our bikes were in for tune ups several times to Trek for Tune ups and they were always rushed.

They charged my credit card for a part they sold to someone else and then a day later sent me an email offering to send it to me for full price. And they still haven’t taken it off their site or off my card. Thanks for making me do my Christmas shopping twice. At least offer a discount for taking up my time and available credit.

The staff of Trek Portsmouth are awesome. Fast turnaround and quality work. I was hesitant to buy my DH bike from a shop that didn’t have a lot of that kind of stuff on the floor, but any and all reservations are gone now. The first purchase was such a positive experience that my wife bought her road bike from these folks too.

I went to this place several years ago to get some spokes repaired. They did, but they ended up breaking again. I just found out that the rims were in the pool of defects, which I was not notified of.

Got there at 6:02pm to drop off my bike for service and they refused to open the doors. Thanks for the effort!

This bike shop is like nothing else in the area. There are some decent shops in Portsmouth but none combine the kind of features this one does. I first went in because it looked gorgeous from the outside. The interior space is extremely well done. Tons of bikes from cruisers to time trial in one of the biggest bike stores I’ve ever been in. One of the best features is the spin studio. I regularly do spin classes during the week using their spin bikes and bring my own bike in on the weekend for a longer group ride using one of their trainers. There is a huge need for a triathlon shop in the Portsmouth area and Olivia, the person heading up the tri-gear part of the store, is doing a great job of providing a place for local triathletes to go. The store also sponsors the Vento Triathlon Club( ) and as a result there is a nice community of triathletes forming. I’ve only had some basic service done so far so I can’t comment much on the mechanic, but the work I had done was explained thoroughly and the pricing for services is clear and straight-forward.
