I bought myself a deal and a gift from Living Social. I spoke with the owners before purchasing to let them know my time frame and to see if they could get my pictures framed within that time. I was told that I could, as long as the frames that we chose were available«in house». I called on my son’s birthday, which was the day they were to be finished, with the exception of 1 that was not«in house» framing. I was told that they were not finished and the large one was in progress, with the workers coming in following the weekend. The pictures looked great! The owners were so helpful and pleasant. My only complaint is the unfulfilled promise of when they would be ready. When my daughter in law went to pick up the larges one, it wasn’t not even wrapped, and she had a 45 minute drive trying to make sure the glass didn’t get scratched. That shouldn’t have happened. I would get the expected finish date in writing and insist upon it — and don’t leave without the your pictures being wrapped for transport.

I’d had a framing project in mind for no kidding, over 10 years, and finally decided to get it taken care of. I looked for a Groupon for framing, and West Coast Frames came up. I found their location and met with Greg, and explained my project and goal. I had 4 National Park postcards of a series that I wanted displayed in an artistic manner. I set them out, he worked with me to select a mat and frame, and he took down all of the measurements to ensure it would look as hoped. A week later I’d not heard back, but gave a call and sure enough, it was ready! So I went by on a Saturday and was assisted by someone else(equally friendly) who unwrapped my project. It was beautiful, and so perfectly done. I knew it would be an additional $ 51 with my Groupon purchase(it was $ 10 for up to $ 50 worth of framing), so a spendy project. That said, when I first went in and spoke with Greg, he told me he was the second generation owner, and the history of the company, and I was committed to paying what it does cost to have works professionally framed– and not, as I probably would have done, stuck them in a $ 5 frame from Fred Meyer. My postcards are gorgeous, the work was well done, and I will definitely go to them again in the future. Go support your local businesses!

The customer service was good, however once I took my framed diploma home and hung it up on my wall I found that it was crooked. Measuring the matt and the diploma placement showed me that the right cormer was ever so slightly higher than the left corner. The difference was enough that it was very noticeable as it hung on my wall, straightened with a level, between two other framed pices that were also straightened with a level. I took it back in and they didn’t give me any trouble to have their mistake fixed. When I picked it up the second time it looked straight but they didn’t have a level I could use to test it with. I also noticed a tiny dent on the bottom of the frame itself, like it got stabbed with the pointed end of a ruler or pen. I know that dent wasn’t there when I picked it up the first time and brought it back in. The receipt they had that they wrote out my fix order on had some notes about a dent and scratches on the frame in black ink. I didn’t have my copy of the invoice on me since I’d come directly from work when they called me telling me it was ready, so I didn’t have the original to compare it to. I pointed the dent out and the lady says that there are the notes saying it was there. I know it wasn’t and I know the notes were not there when I stood there and the same lady wrote out the invoice for the fix work. Especially when her writing is in blue ink and looks different than whoever wrote in black ink about the dent. so I go home and I compare my invoice copy to the photo I took of their invoice copy and sure enough, no comments about a dent that wasn’t there when I brought it back in to be fixed. I also hang and level the diploma, still a tad bit off, so I measure and now the sides of the matt are ever so slightly off. Now I must go back in and have them re-do my frame since they dented it for me and try to make the matt and the diploma straight. Honestly, just getting my money back and taking my diploma somwhere else that actually knows how to frame things is my top choice at this point. I’ve Been Framed or Michaels has never dissapointed me in the past. Every once in a while there is a reason why a company uses groupon.

How this place has been in business for so long is baffling to me. Greg has the worst customer service I’ve ever come across. I brought a painting to him for frame work. We agreed on a frame and he told me it would be two weeks. Seemed like a fair amount of time to wait. Well, I picked up my painting today… SIX weeks after I left it with him! Not once, in the six weeks he had my painting, did he ever call to let me know what the hold up was. My last conversation with him was after five weeks. He said the frame material was on order and his supplier had just now shipped it. He would receive it in a day or two and process my order immediately. Another week went by, no call from Greg. I showed up to pick up my painting. He grabbed my invoice and went to the pile of finished pieces. I watched him fumble around and he finally went in back to grab my painting. Unframed! The guy is so clueless, he forgot who I was. Figured I was there to pick up a completed job. The guy had my painting for six weeks and did nothing with it or bothered to call me. This place is a joke.
