This Wells Fargo Bank is close to Pioneer Square. It nears the light rail component of downtown’s major attraction. There are several automatic machines out front. They have an inside to do some banking.
I went up to get some cash from the automatic machine. It was fairly easy and simple. Their user interface is friendlier than USBank. The controls at Wells Fargo tend to be more fluid and there is usually more options in banking. Wells Fargo has banking criticisms of it’s own such as big fees for small overdrafts, but this is a good bank at a great, central location.

How do I start a review of the worst bank* in history? I start at the beginning. I moved to Portland in August with my fiancée and decided to reroute my accounts to PDX from New Mexico. Easy right? Just transferring numbers and getting new cards. WRONG. I never received my debit card and had to wait TWO whole months just to get a debit card for my personal checking account.
Next, my fiancée and I made the mistake of getting joint accounts. Kathryn Heitkamp, the woman with her own desk at the branch, blew it on several mutiple occasions. First of all, she entered my fiancees name in wrong so she had to reorder her debit cards TWICE. She made the same mistake twice. She then told us that there would be no account balance minimums and that we would not receive service charges at all for such things. I now regard this as a bold faced lie as we continue to get charges and have to get them reimbursed online.
Last week I went in to get two money orders. What should have taken five minutes took 20 minutes. In that time I had to: proofread, explain how printer ink cartridges work, spell my name for them twice, show my ID once, and field blank-​minded stares from three different employees. They entered a name wrong on the first money order because the teller didn’t even know what the hell an ampersand was. She wrote it as a «G» and when I explained what an ampersand was she literally had no clue what I was saying to her. Like I was speaking a foreign language.
As if having the linguistic skills of a 4^th grader wasn’t enough their printer blew ink all over both of my money orders. Their response? «Here ya go! Sorry these are a bit messy!» Are you shitting me? «A bit messy?» One of my orders was going to the Treasury. You think they’re psyched on a printer puking all over their payments? I had to request another money order that wasn’t dripping with ink because they thought theirs was fine. They then asked me if I wanted candy while I waited. I then collected my money orders, told them they weren’t getting their gold stars for the day, and I was going to have to call their parents.
